My husband really liked chatting with the last owner, who knew a lot about wine. He had not been since the new owner took over. I convinced him to go for a tasting, and I'm so sorry I dragged him in there on his weekend time. We were the only people tasting at the bar. Despite this the managers showed zero interest in us. It was very awkward. They asked no questions, not even how long we'd been going there. Management actively avoided us. No one wanted to talk beyond shelling out basic wine info on what they were trying to sell at the tasting. When we stepped away from the counter to look around after the tasting, they suddenly gathered with one another behind the counter to talk among themselves, leaving me somewhat confused and left to peruse the shelves alone (we were the only ones there looking at wine too) instead of taking any opportunity to approach us, get to know us, and retain local clients and entice us to want come in more often. All 4 seats were empty at the counter around them. It was a weekend night. Had I felt more hospitality, we might have bought a nice bottle of wine and sat down to talk. Instead we left. My husband just shrugged (he likes Wine Authorities anyhow) but I actually felt somewhat shocked, in all honesty. It's hard to believe they're trying to run a hospitality business. That experience was anything but fun. In fact it was stressful and a disappointing waste of time. If they want to justify their higher prices over other stores, or encourage people to drink on premises, they need much better management. Preferably people who like people. We had every intention of supporting this local business, but won't be returning anytime soon.

The selection is the same regardless of which Durham ABC store you shop, but this location is clean and uncluttered. They've adapted to COVID-19 with plexiglass and contactless payment. I like the fact that the stores also have a North Carolina section. The reason for my three stars rather than four is because I think North Carolina as a whole should abandon ABC stores and let the free market take over with independent stores that are competitive and can offer a wider selection.

This is a liquor store, if you want wine go to a wine store. And who drinks rosé anyway?" Why would you ask what kind of you know you don't sell wine? I'm new to the area and obviously did not know this was exclusively a liquor store. And to then shame a customer for their taste (it wasn't even for me) is extremely tasteless. Luckily, I now know what store to avoid when I am looking for liquor.

There was plenty of outdoor seating, but limited indoor seating so be sure to check the weather prior if you're staying a while. It seems like they have a lot of regulars that come by on weekdays for a pick-me-up. Dogs and kids were welcome, and there was some parking available in the lot behind the building.

I told her that all I really needed was to make change. She said "we don't have that" rather dismissively. I was floored. I looked around at this massive store, the cash register's, the staff the millions worth of inventory and I said "really, with all this? And she said " really, with all this". I left the store with no change. The bus didn't make change. The driver let me on for free. There is a total wine in the town where I live, but I don't think I'll be going back there.

The entire store is filled with wines from all over the world. The best part? None of them are from big companies. Every single one of them are from local/ small businesses (You can see some of the business owners photos by the wines!). The owner/ founder of Wine Authorities has been working with a lot of the wineries for many years. They taste every new batch they purchase to ensure quality. Although they have many businesses they've been working with for a long time, they go to wine shows and events in Europe to discover new ones! I like my wine very sweet but there were so many choices that I was a bit overwhelmed. I asked the nice lady at the register to give me recommendations and I loved the wine she recommended. If you are a bit overwhelmed with all the choices, just ask for help. They are very informative and helpful! Aside from their amazing wine, they also have beer, cider, sake, hot sauce, honey, meats, and etc. You will find at least one thing you will love. On Saturdays, they have free wine tastings from 12-3pm! If you cannot make it there on time, you can always buy a bottle or two. They will give you glasses to drink in the back or outside if the weather is nice outside! You can also buy snacks or cheese to go with your wines. Also, if you are a little hungry, you can buy a bottle from Wine Authorities and head to Thai Cafe next door and they will let you drink there without extra charge!

Sorry to use such a terrible word, but I feel that there pretty much a racket of some sort. It set $20 more $25 promotion thing, it's a racket. Most of the prices are fair, but in order for them to recover the $20 or $25 off coupon they really puff up the prices on things like bread and such, so in the end in just one order they recover about $30-$35 to cover the coupon, what a racket. Oh, yell out the country, a racket is a nice name for someone involved in organized crime, yeah Teeter's is a racket. I could go on and on about problems with them, but I must say they got one thing that shines like a supernova, it's their little red truck the delivers the food your house, what a super job those deliveryman and women do. Always on time, always really nice, absolutely honest, not only do they not charge you a tip they will not accept it. If they could just get out of the racket thing, and go more when their little red truck thing, they put other grocery stores out of business. I wish they could understand this, it is so sad. To put it bluntly, can't nobody be Walmart's prices on groceries, Sam Walton would be so proud of them.
