Harris Teeter! I hope you are reading! Your employees are going to cause you to need to close your doors. Why? Well, my quest today is to make sure everyone knows what you do. I waited on the phone 2.5 hours for you all to pick up, and this is not acceptable. When someone did answer I was given numbers for Corporate Office and guess what, the same sort of "I don't care attitude" is rampant there as well. They keep you on hold without a plan of answering, and they are busy. They are not busy working. They are busy pretending to work, pretending to help, and in fact they do neither. Their site is also flawed without a way to get help through it either. Do not shop at Harris Teeter. They are more expensive, and they give you less, while pretending to give you more. Go to Food Lion, where you will receive help that is meaningful, and where you can buy foods that are healthy without the pretense and being overcharged. Grow a garden. Just bought the 3 99 sandwhich deal and very dissatisfied. Got an Italian sub...had nothing but meat on it...no onions etc, no cheese, no italian dressing. And also ordered a roast beef sub. Just had the meat on it and no cheese or any sauce of any kind...way different from the last time read more

I drive the past the new Harris Teeter on 54 to the older one because I purchased bread twice at the new one and it was stale. Today I purchased a loaf at the Harris Teeter at New Hope Commons and you can tell it is at least a day old or more. I know COVID had impacted these stores, but we customers who have limited spending power should not be taken advantage of by large companies wanting to save a buck. I am so disappointed. The 3-star rating is due solely to a HUGE number of one-star reviews by ONE CUSTOMER, who is dissatisfied with how the raw meat ordered online is wrapped, yet has kept ordering it for several years. This is an excellent store, and I especially appreciate the free curbside pickup for seniors because of COVID. Also, it's a small sample, but while sitting in my car curbside, I have not seen a single customer enter or exit the store without a mask. I tried the HT closer to me (the former Kroger), but I'm willing to go farther, because this store is much better laid out and has much more competent staff. read more

This store and the entire surrounding city can rejoice since they have gotten rid of the rodent store manager Luis. Although I heard he got moved to another store in a different area which is unbelievable since he's the worst manager I've ever come across in my shopping lifespan. read more

If you want a submarine sandwich with real bang for your buck Harris Teeter is the joint. Fresh Boars Head cold cuts (top of the line) are in play here. Very generous serving sizes, unlike the invisible amounts some chains give you. The price value is simply the best on the market. On Friday a foot long sub (a real foot Subway), chips and a drink cost a whopping $4.99. Where and how you going to beat that? Laura and Jennifer are the real deal when it comes to customer service. Note to all you people who call in your shopping orders and whine that the order is either incomplete or wrong. There is just too much room for error when it comes to food shopping for someone else. So if your not disabled get off your lazy butts and do it yourself or order some cheese with those whines. You sound like complete babies. "I didn't get my ground beef wrapped in brown paper". Very nice store. Clean and well stocked. Has a Starbucks, good looking bakery, and lively staff. It looks to be one of the newer HT's, and offers the usual good experience for a well run HT. I will be back to this location. read more

WARNING! sushi hand made by chef gave me food poisoning! Sick 2 weeks & 2 dr. visits!! Very Scary!!

For budget reason I strive to take advantage of the many wonderfully discounted items that appear at this Harris Teeter. Items such as fresh meats that have reached their "sell by dates." Typically these will have a manager's discount applied to them on either the day before or the day of their "Sell By Date." I've had two experiences in the past 30 days that have kind of shocked me. 1) in late Nov-2013 I noticed a beef brisket that was expiring the day of my visit that as of 4pm had not been discounted. I took it to the butcher and asked if he would mark it down and was surprised when he stated NO, he would be cutting it up and re-wrapping it with a new "Sell by date." 2) again on 26-Dec-2013 I noticed a leg of lamb that expired on the date I visited. My inquiry was with the same butcher and he again said NO, he would be cutting that leg of lamb in half, repricing and re-dating it. I cannot fathom that this is allowed by FDA regulations. I've submitted this online to HT but no reply as yet. read more

I have been using this store for my groceries for a long time (including today) and have seen the service getting poor and worse. HT was known for good service but no more. It took me over 15 minutes to go through slow long Check out lines. Brought it to the manager's attention but he did not seem to care. They lost my business. read more

The people who work at the Homestead store have my heart, but the layout and cleanliness of this store are top notch. Plus, some of the Homestead regular employees seem to moonlight here. read more

This is the main HT in my life, which I deviate from for the other one on 54 closer to Fayetteville Rd from time to time (they have some things that this HT doesn't and can be a little less crowded). I don't go to the other one that's close by (on MLK and University) because my wallet was stolen there, and the situation was severely mishandled by the people who worked there. Plus, parking can be much nicer at this HT. They have a pretty good produce selection, even though I'd like more organic produce options. The store is a good size, with relatively good selection of all products. The people who work there are nice, though a few times they've been the young, "oh, I'm in customer service?" people. The latest oddity to be employed there is this new girl at the Starbucks, who I'm convinced is mute and has some sort of good reason to smirk and never smile because there's no way Harris Teeter (or anyone) would employ someone like that without a good medical reason for her behavior. The UScan lines are usually pretty quick, usually with an attendant attendant (see what I did there?). read more

I couldn't find three of the items I was looking for and I could find no help anywhere and I had a fairly full cart. One of the checkout lanes had its light on with no one there for quite some time and the person at the customer service desk was on the phone and would not recognize that I was waiting. I finally gave up. Will not return to a Harris Teeter. read more

Not bad. It's a grocery store that's nicer than Food Lion. Not much else can be said. The chocolate chip cookies are dangerous, and the sushi is pretty good, though overpriced since it costs the same as restaurant sushi. Your choices are also limited here in that regard. To get the best sushi head down 54 a little farther. It's worth it. This place is slightly worse than that other HT store in every way, actually. Most HT"s have the refrigerated pastas section. That's one of the very few legit things that separates HT from other grocery stores. The section with that awesome tortellini you can make at home. They have it here, but it's missing some of the best things present in most of them. With relation to the glassdoor comment. No, they pay their employees like crap, just like they paid me like crap when I worked at Harris Teeter. It's a regular grocery store. I can never understand why people are surprised entry jobs pay like entry jobs. They got exactly the amount of effort out of me as they put into me via compensation. I prefer this Harris Teeter over the other ones in the area and I even prefer this store over the other grocery stores in the area. Their produce and meat is always fresh and I've never had any issues with the quality of their products. One major point for me going here is their customer service. Other stores in the area get long lines and don't offer assistance to your vehicle unless you personally ask or wait at the customer service desk. I appreciate this store's attention to detail and I've always felt valued when I shop here. On my most recent experience, I was shopping with my 4 month old daughter in tow and trying to get a weeks worth of food quickly in between getting off work and needing to get her fed. I got in line in the express checkout as I only had about 15 things total in my basket. The woman at the self checkout kiosk saw me in line with my daughter and offered to help me check out in the self kiosk instead if waiting in line. She scanned all my groceries for me and then got me help with my groceries out to my car. I really appreciated her help and attention. No other store in the area would have even bothered to help me out to my car or cared if I waited an extra 10 minutes in line. Their staff consistently go the extra step to help their customers and anticipate your needs instead of reacting to an issue after the fact. This is my go to store and even if I spend a little extra money on food for my family, its worth it for the extra care this store provides. read more
