We tend to frequent this more store over other options within a mile from our house (Publix and Food Lion). I like the layout and the selection but I am taking a star off because some of the prices are absurdly high. Certain items have to be purchased elsewhere because HT is too expensive. An example is of overpriced items are avocados at 2 for $5.00. We really like the seafood and meat counter at HT over other stores. While we do tend to frequent this HT, we are not opposed to switching out shopping over to Publix where products are comparable and coupons are sent to our house regularly which keeps us coming in weekly. read more

One of the best neighborhoods for HT and you take away the hand baskets? Why would I shop here if it isn't a tiny bit convenient? Like seriously, hand baskets to pick up dinner... Parking stinks, never enough lanes, and always a trip. Now I have no reason to go. everything was clean and easy to find but the bagger was being really odd, he went from having a normal conversation with the cashier to giggling weirdly the entirety of bagging my items and saying random one offs like "nfl" "thank you mr sir" and "chicken" his name was Caleb i believe he was super comfortable doing all of this. it was just weird and bad experience felt like he was trying to bait negative interaction because he wanted attention when i'm just here to buy groceries. I have never met such delightful employees other than Jaida and Noah. I have been having rough times; my father had a heart attack and my grandfather was diagnosed with cancer in the past month. I went grocery shopping here and felt so bad I had a lot of stuff. These individuals touched my heart with their kindness. You never know what someone is going through and I pray that God will bless them greatly. They made the checkout process fun and they made me smile. I really hope the best for these employees, as they made a difference in something as simple as checking out at a grocery store. They should run the place with their enthusiasm! What can I say... This is my neighborhood Harris Teeter. I live just over a mile away and am a pretty loyal shopper. They may get a run for their money when the Publix opens right across the street -- especially if their parking situation is any better. The Cotswold Shopping Center's parking lot can be like a battlefield, amiright?! Employees at this location are SUPER friendly and accommodating. The selection is almost always spot on. Every now and then, at the end of a double coupon period, some shelves can be bare. Most recently, I find myself having to re-learn the store layout and product placement after their renovation. read more

I have been shopping at this Harris Teeter for years now and it is the absolute worst if you're in a hurry. I have never complained in a review about this before even though service here has been the same the entire time. This morning put me over the edge. I purchased 9 items and had one coupon for each item. The cashier was so confused and was closely looking at each coupon. She tried to tell me she couldn't scan two of them because it was a different item. I had to show her the name and point to each item. Literally Raisin Bran, Mini Wheats, Pops cereal, and some Nestle Pure Life water - this should not have been confusing. Where are the f#%€$ng bagels? This is just another grocery store that feels like everything's backwards. I realize it's limited by the architecture but it could at least try to mimic the layout of other stores. This one could really use an update... Lactaid ice cream is NOT dairy free. Not every intolerant person can eat it. So it pisses me off when that's the only brand you have plain chocolate ice cream. And every thing else is f%#@ing coconut. You know what chocolate coconut ice cream tastes like? Coconut. It's disgusting! But I love the "international" aisle. Mainly for the English teas and cookies. If there ever were a "perfect" Harris Teeter, this one is up there in the running. Clean store featuring one of the largest dry-grocery sections around. Expanded Meat/Seafood than your normal store, massive wine selection, and a hot bar with a ton of options. Fitting that it is in a very prominent part of town. While the store is huge, the parking is a bit cramped. Of course, the Cotswold shopping center's entire lot is quite large, but Harris Teeter's lot is sectioned off artificially by a marked through-road. This separates the larger stores from some of the "strip mall" style stores on the edge of the shopping center. Bring your patience with you as since the remodel, things seem tighter on the side of the store. Speaking of remodel, they made a lot of good additions. In the front corner near customer service, a "Wine Bar" with full staff has been furnished with tables and bar seating. I always get a chuckle out of people drinking here around 2pm on a weekday, but hey, more power to ya! On the other side the hot bar has an impressive spread for lunch, but let me tell you from experience: choose wisely! Don't stray too far from the 'normal' options like meatloaf and chicken entrees. I've had more adventurous stuff like salmon and crab cakes and they left a little to be desired. It's a lunch bar, not a seafood restaurant, your mileage may vary. Every time I've been in the store, it has been well staffed. This goes from the service departments like deli and meat, to the front end where the cashiers ring you up. Total store sales have a lot to do with the amount of staff in any store but it just seems like HT has invested MORE here. A plus for this store, would like to see it in others as well! Competition is coming over the horizon soon as Publix is building a store right across the street. Cotswold has less renters and more deeply rooted family households so I don't see a huge tide of customers deserting this store. They've played it smart here and I wish every Harris Teeter was as well maintained as this one. read more

I personally choose not to shop at this Harris Teeter, especially with a brand new Publix right across the street but that's not what this review is about. This review is pertaining to the online order pick up. I have picked up an additional job doing Shipt in my spare time (Covid times, am I right?). I only do "delivery only" orders here so I don't actually have to go into the store. I will say that I'm giving them an additional star because the pick up area is very customer friendly compared to other locations! I wish other locations had these designated pick up parking spaces instead of having us block other customers vehicles. Please plan on waiting sometimes 30 minutes for your order to be brought out to you, I wish I were kidding. It's a typical trip if 2-3 different employees come and ask your name for the pick up order. Even today I waited over 30 minutes just for someone to come out and say "What's the name on your order, no one here tells me anything." Not the most professional thing to say. Communication seems to be lacking, and there's no sense of urgency from the employees. The whole point of ordering online for people is so they don't have to go into the store. Keep in mind some people have compromised immune systems and strictly rely on this for groceries. No one has ever apologized for the wait the many times I've picked up orders here, I'm not offended but I do have orders that need to be delivered in a timely manner and majority of these orders contain perishable products. Hopefully this feedback will provide the team with some useful ideas on running the online pick up more efficiently. read more

I want to like love this HT since it is so close for shopping but I think they could use some improvement on cleaning and sanitation. You can smell the fish area soon after entering the store - and this gets stronger closer to fish and frozen fish and poultry display cases. Some serious cleaning needs to be done even if it involves more periodic disassembly or sanitation provider assistance. The second disappointment is the recent reestablishment of the salad, soup and Asian bar. --with COVID still an issue --what is HT thinking in shared utensils and help yourself RTE bar? Lastly some of the employees aren't reminded to wear masks properly such that they cover nose and mouth. HT should also post an easy to follow sign on door entry reminding shoppers HOW to wear their masks and masks required inside stores for everyone over age of 4 (or that recommended by CDC). Above applies to Morrocroft location as well. I loved our HTs in Greensboro NC -but some in Charlotte could use some attention. read more

The staff here are some of the rudest I've ever experienced, especially in the deli. I'm a huge fan of Harris Teeter subs and usually come every week for the $5 whole special. Usually that's not an issue and I'm in and out in a pretty short amount of time but lately the people working the deli counter have been treating me like I'm there to take their livelihood for ordering a sandwich. Completely rude, not a single pleasantry (is hello a lot to ask for?). I left the location in dismay about how I was treated on my last visit. It's unfortunate because the subs are fantastic (as is the rest of the grocery selection) but the staff make a compelling argument to go across the street to Publix to be treated like a human being. read more

I just went in to get a case of beer that I couldn't get at the Morrocroft HT. The store was clean...laid out similarly, with normal staff attentiveness, which is usually of a high level! The beer guy that was stocking the aisle, noticed what I was buying and let me know they only had one case left of that brew ( Great Lakes Holy Moses -seasonal) and was happy to get me a box to but my purchase in. read more

After 10 PM, the staff in this store will routinely lock one of the only two exits in the building, and even go so far as to barricade the door on both sides with shopping carts, making it entirely unusable in an emergency situation. They do this at their customers' risk, in blatant violation of fire safety code. In the event of a fire, if the other exit was unusable for some reason, occupants would have no way to escape the building. I have personally addressed this with management many times in the past, to make them aware of the safety risk they are creating, in hopes they will correct it. Yet they still continue to needlessly place their customers in harm's way. They say they do this for safety after dark, however, obstructing the exit entirely is not necessarily to limit the points of ingress. They are hindering safety more than helping it by doing this. Not a huge fan of this HT location. It is pretty convenient though and that's why I don't like it as much since it always seems super busy and the parking lot is a deathtrap waiting to happen. Death and destruction in the parking lot left aside, the inside is pretty well planned out for the space that they have and it's pretty easy to get in and out in a few minutes - usually this is my goal since I'm in a rush somewhere and just need to grab wine or something. I haven't seen any U-scan machines in this store, but I always rush in and out without noticing the front line of registers midst all the impulse buy options of magazines and candy. read more

I wasn't at this location for long and only popped in to grab some gum. The store seemed clean, but there were plenty of shoppers and only one regular cashier working and 3 of the 6 self check out machines were broken. So the lines were unnecessarily long for a Tuesday night at the HT. There was no one helping with the line control either. What was supposed to be a 2 minute trip took about 15 minutes. Make sure your self check out machines work or back up with some extra cashiers when the self check goes awry. read more

Not to long ago I read an online article about a man upset with living on this side of charlotte. It was an clt agenda blog. Long story short the he was irate. He hated the amenities at Cotswold and the general daily hustle and bustle. At that moment in time, I thought to myself that HT has never been that bad? Nah! But I got to y2 yoga about every other day! Felt I had a fair opinion. However this lunch time experience is the worst I've ever witnessed. Are there any managers even around? Does anyone have any direction? The manager even helped bag (somewhat, then needed elsewhere) the lady in front of me groceries, however I had so much time waiting, I was able to write this review and still no where being close to rung up. Matt- the manager, wish you could've helped more. The cashier has a back problem and moving slow as a snail. Let her go Home. what makes it even better is it's the priciest grocery store around- maybe I just need to deal with same costs but stick to traders, Whole Foods and aldi! read more

For approximately 10 years or more we have received excellent service from pharmacy. They have gone above and beyond finding medications at other locations when needed. I would give pharmacy 10 stars . Groceries can be pricey but can find some good deals. Salad and hot bar is nice (yummy)! Employees are very friendly and helpful. read more

Maybe this location is prime for theft so they treat everyone like a criminal. It's located in a decent area, but they may be a hot spot because when I come in there it appears as over the top customer service gone wrong. At the you scan they stand behind you. I didn't ask for anyone's help. It's just plain weird to have someone stand there and watch me scan and bag my groceries. Monitor everyone. I really want to steal the lasagna noodles?! If you are just going to stand there then bag it for me and scan it too. People will come to you and walk with you down the aisle. It may be seen as great customer service, but no I can shop alone and didn't need help reading labels. If I need an aid I will get SSI. I honestly feel like saying what my students say all the time "they are doing too much!". The prices are decent and the store is clean. Produce is a hit or miss morcroft has better selection. Dare I say that I dig this HT more than the Taj MaTeet @ South Park? This one is more compact however always has easy to spot employees who are happy to help not to mention this HT is loaded with free samples! I can get samples of soup, cheese, meat, soup, sweets, bread and more therefore curbing my appetite which in turn helps me spend less money which is always the objective for me! Known to us long-time locals as the "Taj-ma-Teeter" because of its grand size and themed "worlds" complete with custom signage and props, this is the local grocery you've got to see. Where else could you go and visit the frozen tundra to get your frozen items? Who else offers up your meats and veggies from a "farm-land" inspired group of aisles? There was a time and place this store was considered the brand flagship. I'm certain those days are past, but the huge selection and colorful signage still make this a destination grocery store, if such a thing exists?! Bottom line is this: this is a Harris Teeter grocery store, which is pretty much the gold standard around here for getting your weekly food shopping done. Produce, meats, seafood, deli, bakery, etc. It's all here, just like you'd find a pretty much any HT. The only difference is there is a bigger selection at this store and they tend to carry some harder to find ingredients and products that smaller stores would skip if for no other reason than a lack of shelf space. For example, the deli cheeses are more than just Boar's Head selections. This store also carries it's own dry-aged meats if you are looking to impress. The wine and beer selection is also impressive here- better than average for a grocery store. Also, if you are attending any outdoor events around Southpark, don't overlook their prepared-foods. Lots of pretty good picnic-style food ready for purchase and all made in store. We tend to stop in before outdoor concerts, when in a rush. Price-wise, not always the cheapest around, but then who wants that your your fresh foods? Do watch their sales, the loyalty-card savings can really tally up if you shop regularly. read more

Harris Teeter....a.k.a the $4 store. Where every item seems like it is $4. While expensive...they are great quality. Always fully stocked with fresh produce, prepared foods, sushi, full service deli and a huge Beer/Wine section. Harris Teeter staff are always neatly dressed, very helpful, and the culture seems very consistent among all stores. Generally check-out is not too bad. Sometimes it seems like the registers may run a little slow...esp. when they are super busy duing snow day. I have learned that, 9 times out of 10, bagging your own groceries is a great way to cut down on time at checkout. I dont mind doing that though. I bag it and sort it how i like it. It also shows the people in line that I'm purposly trying to speed things along. No one like glaring looks from people who are waiting. The cashier appreciates it too. The stores are pretty high end....i hear there is some competition coming to Cotswold .... Publix is on the way. Someone is gonna come in a bit lower in pricing. read more

This is my local grocery store, and I'm a big fan of Harris Teeter, but lately a few things have bugged me about it. Like other reviewers have said, the parking lot is a bit of a nightmare. It's a small store (by HT standards) and daytimes can be pretty busy. I personally LOVE to shop late at night, and frequently visit after 9 p.m. to avoid the crowds. Be warned... Thursday is senior citizen day, and it's hard to maneuver the aisles with how busy it is, and slow moving the customers can be. As it's a smaller store, it seems they don't have enough room on the shelves for some items, and they run out. They never have Diet Sun Drop! I had a pretty negative experience today with customer service. I get the HT emails, and frequent their website looking for sales, etc., and the website has all of these mentions of special orders, etc. So I figured I'd ask customer service about why they discontinued my favorite fake-meat sausage product (don't mock me! it's good!) and they seemed annoyed that I was asking, and causing them a hassle. Overall, the two employees working behind the counter seemed bothered they had to help me at all... not a good impression! read more

"Don't go to that Harris Teeter," I said to myself. "It's a little further away, but you know you should go to the one on Providence." "I'll roll the dice," I decided. A few minutes later, I pulled into the parking lot narrowly avoiding the cart boy, whose cart stack was about 10 to 12 carts above his ability. I made my way to the deli. I waited patiently as the young deli attendant finished preparing the night's 7:30 pm batch of tuna salad. Eventually, he turned to me and said, "would you like a sub?" Dying for that turkey and provolone, I replied that I did. He said, "just one moment while I find someone that can do subs." Excited for my moment to come, I watched him stride with cheer as he made his way to the other side of the deli. He said something to one of the other employees that I couldn't quite make out. This was taking longer than expected. Something was wrong. "We close at seven," the young lady asserted from across the deli. I responded that that couldn't be right, but to my great surprise there was indeed a sign to my left which confirmed the worst of my fears. Unbeknownst to me, like Palpatine commanding the Clone Army to carry out Operation 66, the deli employees latent inability to make subs had come to fruition when the clock struck 7 pm, only to be reversed at 10 am the following morning. I had a terrible experience trying to return two cans of similac formula ($35 in total) that my father purchased from Harris Teeter the night before. I realized that I had way to much formula for my 11 month old and not enough baby food. I took it to costumer service and because I didn't have the debit card which I explained over and over again was my dad's they wouldn't even do an even exchange for "security purposes". I wasn't wanting money or anything.. all I wanted was to change the product for something I needed. I couldn't believe I was getting this response from a manager at Harris Teeter who is supposed to have great customer service and return policies. I used to enjoy going to Harris Teeter. The one at Cotswald had the prepared dinners pre covid that I enjoyed - sometimes eating it at the store. I have a lot of medical issues from the military. Breathing is one of them. A rent a cop with a nasty attitude at first refused to let me in the store and then continued to argue with me by making up his own laws. When I told him what they were he just became more obnoxious. It is obvious I am seriously disabled. I went to customer service who agreed the guard should to have done that. The manager appeared behind me and when I turned around so did he and disappeared. I sent an email to corporate and have not hear from them, which completely surprised me. Well, they don't care about me, I don't care about them. Publix is nice, newer, and the parking is covered so no problems with our afternoon storms. Charlotte has a ton of other food stores which I will now be using. So, if you are disabled be prepared to be tossed if you are not able to wear a mask. Pretty pathetic, HT. read more

Just came to this HT for the first time last weekend. I normally go to the one on Central (which is much smaller and cramped in comparison). I believe this will be my regular store from now on. This location is HUGE! Things I love about this location: 1. Very clean. I was there on a weekend, and it still looked pretty great. 2. Large selection of produce. 3. Open 24 hours - hurray! 4. Friendly staff. 5. They have a whole bread counter for their artisan breads. Awesome! 6. Very well organized. I think this store makes more sense, because it has the produce, bakery, deli, and all that near each other. I liked that a lot. 7. Great selection of quick items. I love their pre-prepared meat dishes, that you just take home and bake. They are convenient and delicious, especially when you catch them on sale. The parking gets a little difficult on the weekend, but more because of a general increase of traffic in the shopping plaza than actual business at HT. The prices are about standard HT prices, which even I admit are higher than some of the other area stores. However, you get what you pay for, and them items are higher quality and easier to find here than some other stores. read more

Is it normal to LOVE a grocery store??? I mean seriously... I HATE grocery shopping, but it doesn't bother me one bit to walk into the brightly lit foyer of a Harris Teeter. I'm not from the south, so this place is brand new to me and I had to ask myself ,'What have I been missing all these years???" As soon as you walk in to the left side is the produce area and my boyfriend even said that he isn't a fruit and veggie kinda guy, but he noticed just how colorful and appealing the produce section in any Harris Teeter always looks. Since I've moved here I decided that I'd like to be more healthy and I have to say... it's MUCH easier to eat healthier here than in my hometown. They have both locally grown and organic foods and the cheese wheels in there are like nothing I've ever seen. I'm probably the laziest person on earth when it comes to cooking, so you can imagine the happy dance I broke down into when I realized they had pre made dinners... and they are REAL dinners, salmon with pasta, lasagna, salads, sushi... etc. I told the boyfriend I was going to surprise him with a candle lit Harris Teeter pre made dinner one night, ya know, because I'm so romantic and all. haha :) It's just a pretty store. Yes, pretty. I never knew that was possible of a grocery store and I am in love with it. They are open 24 hours here too so BONUS because I live right down the street.
