I can't even begin to understand how somebody got approved for remodeling this store. It just to be lit very nicely, have a unique ornate design that made it stand out from other harris teeter locations and now, they lowered the ceilings, took all the uniqueness out of the store, and added these lights that are way too bright and make the shopping experience horrible. Not only does it now look subpar to the average food lion, it looks ten years older than it did before the renovation. Think high end harris teeter going to low end 1980's Walmart in appearance. I've been shopping at that harris teeter for my entire life but I will never return due to this big downgrade. It is truly a shame that they ruined their best location. read more

The Bakery is sub-par compared to other Harris-Teeters. The Manager is rude. As for Harris Teeter, their prices are comparable to Publix and Whole Foods now, but without someone walking your bags out for you in the case of Publix, and with less quality in the case of Whole Foods. You will no doubt check yourself out, and use paper or plastic bags that seem to be of much less quality than the stores they are now competing with. The quality of the meat is now waning as I have found in the ground beef here on more than one occasion. The "fancy" Cheeses are of less quality and more expensive than Aldi. I now drive the extra mile. If I must go to Harris Teeter, which I doubt I will, it won't be this one. read more

Not sure who manages deli and sub area but every time I come to this location in particular they never have hot sub ingredients. I've waisted so many of my lunch breaks coming to this location just for them to not have what all other locations have and advertise. I think it's done on purpose at this point. read more

Nice, newish kind of Harris Teeters in South Park. This one is located in an inner mall ... meaning its facade does not face outward to the main street Carnegie. You drive in the mall and all the stores face inside ... including this Harris Teeters. We like Harris Teeters in Charlotte and there are seemingly scores of them. We believe Harris Teeters is simply a brand name for the giant Kroger operation. Be that as it may, the store was clean and organized and had just about everything we needed. We are more used to visiting the Park Avenue Mall Harris Teeters, but this one will do just fine. They always seem to have helpful people ... which is a kudo to management. read more

This review is for the Thursday prime rib special. Overall, this is my home location so I would definitely recommend this location. Really good Harris Teeter location overall. Usually well stocked, clean and the staff is great, especially Dexter. But the real jewel is the Thursday prime rib special. Only available during lunchtime hours so before warned. If you come in too late, you probably won't get it. That being said, this is probably the best prime rib in the city, restaurant or not. And I know that's a pretty bold statement, but wait until you try it and then let me know what you think. I don't need to over sell this one because there isn't a need to. This is legitimate prime rib with a couple of throwaway sides, and a portable aus jus and horseradish, if that's your thing. The aus jus definitely comes in handy, especially in an easily re-sealable container, so if you need to reheat your prime rib and have a second round, you can definitely do that. read more

I have been going to this HT since I moved to SouthPark in 1991. In 2019, my husband and I moved to Starmount but he liked the old HT so much he kept going back there, despite three - THREE - other HTs being closer. And he went a LOT, usually several times a week. Well, my husband passed away this summer and, for various reasons, I have been using HT's grocery pickup service. A few weeks back I had to call to correct something on my order and the lady who helped me, Angelique, recognized my husband's name and description and said several people had wondered why he had stopped coming. So when I arrived a little later to pick up my order, several employees were outside waiting with flowers, a sympathy card and, after I burst into tears from the show of kindness, some wonderful hugs. You cannot buy customer service like that. Until I leave Charlotte or join my husband, you bet the Morrocroft HT will be my store. And my pharmacy. read more

As I checked out yesterday at Harris Teeter in uptown Charlotte, I was going to get 20 bucks back in cash. I was prompted with a notice that there was now a $.75 fee. This is the first I've ever seen of a grocery store doing this. I asked the cashier about this, I was told, "yes Harris Teeter started charging this fee in January 2024". A HT corporate level (Kroger) decsision to start charging customers for getting cash back, I think is horrible. This is another reason why I prefer Publix. I go into HT occasionally because of convenience but no more! And yes I know I can go to my bank and get my money with zero fees, but the convenience of cash back during checkout is something I have leveraged for decades now. This was a surprise. read more

Harris Teeter Morrcroft or better known as the Tai-Ma-Teeter is a Southpark staple. it's been here for decades and was the largest HT at one time. I've been coming here for years and it's still my favorite Teeter in the whole city. This Teeter offers all the Harris Teeter amenities: sub station, pizza bar, salad bar, sushi station, Hot bar, sit down wine area, order and pick up grocery service and Starbucks. A lot of the employees has been here for years and it gives the store a real small town feel. I would strongly suggest you sign up for the E-Vic program. They are always giving away free stuff!!! They are also normally very busy during lunch time and right after work like 5pmish. But I will say they normally have most of their checkout lines open and they have about 8+ self checkout stations. This store is always super clean. I believe they have an outside sanitation staff. This store recently did a floor move so things are in different locatitons on the aisles than I'm use to. read more

Ordered the prime rib dinner and went today to retrieve the order. NEVER again will I order a dinner from Harris Teeter. 11.21.24 asked in store #157 about the dinner-no one knew anything, called when I got home, told I needed to order online-did. Called back about price and told I needed to return (2nd trip) and get order receipt at deli and go and pay at register, then I must return receipt to deli-or no order. Luckily, I thought to photograph my receipt because the deli kept and gave me nothing in return. When I went into store #157 to get my order, still not given my receipt, Michael and Amy would not accept that I had paid and were going to charge me again---showed the copy of my receipt. Very shoddy handling of situation. I am a senior citizen (70) and the whole ordering and picking up has been a terrible experience. This is the first time I have ordered a dinner and this will be the last. When I was checking out, I had 4 containers of meat---if I was a thief, those would have been in the container. Where is my receipt? Is an employee using my receipt to get a free dinner? I WANT my receipt mailed to me today. read more

If this store isn't the flagship in the Harris Teeter chain, it's certainly the jewel of their Charlotte locations. Not that the other stores aren't great, but this one is just... greater. Open 24 hours, I've been into this store all around the clock. On the way into work in the morning to visit the Starbucks, at lunch time for a sub or a hot bar takeout, after work for a restock on the way home, and in the middle of the night to pick up some nibbles for the guys in the office when we work overnights. There's a rhythm to the store - watching the staffers restocking at different hours, observing them taking down the salad bar, putting out the free tastes, and the smiling faces at the seafood counter. The wine and beer section of this store is more than twice the size of any other with an amazing selection of imports and domestic choices from all around the world. The cheese bunkers are an inner circle for the excellent deli and hot bar areas also with a great offering of cheeses and spreads. I'm running out of adjectives to adequately describe the meat and seafood counters plus the massive fresh produce and floral department. The different pharmacist assistants have remembered my name, which is pretty cool to have that sort of treatment. Don't miss out on the sub station for lunch or grab some fresh made sushi to go. It's made fresh on site so it's still pretty good quality. Don't miss the "HT Trader" generic products with a slightly lower price, there's no reduction of taste or freshness. For a premium supermarket, you're going to be paying a premium price but if you want good quality and excellent service, it can't be beat. read more

Although I have been to this location over the years it has now become my go to Harris Teeter after recently moving to the area. This location is one of the larger Harris Teeter's I have been too which I love. The aisles are spacious, food isn't cramped and they offer a wide variety of brands. In addition to groceries they do have hot and cold food stations, allowing customers grab and go options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Another great feature, this location has a Starbuck's, grab a coffee before you shop! Customer service is spectacular and for some reason I always enjoy my trips here...yes, I know, who likes to grocery shop. So let me start by saying I was in the US NAVY for 8 years and I have taken pictures of my friends and fellow River Rats at every Military base I have ever been stationed at (Korea, Japan, Whidby Island, San Diego, Subic Bay etc. ) Where am I headed with this I was taking pictures at the Taj MahTeeter when Jerry the Store Director told me that taking pictures inside his grocery store was not allowed and walked off. I took pictures of his beautiful fruit, The Clean aisles, The hot bar, etc. I have nearly 500 reviews on YELP and have taken pictures every place I have reviewed and have never been told I can not take pictures of fruit before. As for the store beautiful as for hospitality and my 3rd or 4th review while new to Charlotte (The Friendly City?) area having just moved here on weds last. I usually like to shop at Fresh and Easy or Whole Foods or Trader Joes - but I have to tell you that Harris Teeter's Express Lane service has won me over. I hate grocery shopping with a passion so being able to go online and use my saved shopping lists to easily shop for the week - and then just drive up and have it loaded into the car for me.. it's like a dream come true. I just wish they delivered and unloaded for me too. HA HA.. and if they could cook the food too.. well, maybe that is asking too much. It is a $4.95 fee for the person to basically walk through the market and shop your order for you and I usually tip whoever loads my car too... you can see sales online and even use your VIC membership card - so no worries that you won't save money - in fact, I spend less because I don't grab all those impulse buys like candy bars and cup cakes... yikes. I am very happy with the fact that they call you if they don't have something you ordered and ask if you want to substitute it.. so it's an actual person, not a robot or automated thing... very good service. First time in Harris Teeter while visiting my brother in Charlotte. We were staying in the area and I just wanted to grab some snacks to get the kids to hold us over until dinner. The store was nice and clean and everyone was soo nice. Items were easy to find but the prices were a bit higher than I was use to at my home store. It was nice they had a store advantage card, and the checkout clerk was nice enough to let me use it! Only complaint beside the higher prices was that some of the fruit looked a bit questionable, specifically the watermelon slices which I decided to pass on because they looked dry and old. read more

This is of those backwards stores where everything is in reverse and I can't find anything. Even though it's recently remodeled the checkout aisles are so narrow I still get hit in the ankles by a cart every other visit. No non-dairy cheese anywhere in the giant maze of coolers in the back. How this store chooses what mix of products to carry is a mystery to me. The best thing about this location is you can usually find a shady spot to park in most of the day. The good ol' Taj-ma-Teeter. Not my least favorite Harris Teeter location but it's down there on the list. The place does earn the name. The brick exterior makes it looks like a palace indeed but it helps it fit perfectly into this area. Gaudy might be Harris Teeter's middle name, but they at least have groceries no matter which one you visit. The prices don't seem to change much and they still have air chilled chicken breasts for $1.99/lb - my main-squeeze when I go to Harris Teeter. At this location they have lots of extra space to fit in more kitchen wares and non-food items. But for me the store's size often translates to "Help me, I'm lost." There are lots of registers and many of them are always open. Staff is usually fairly helpful. Getting in and out of here is also a bit confusing but I chock that up to the architecture of the palace-like structure. One final, good-Samaritan tidbit is that they seem to have some regular employees with Downs Syndrome. Always good when an employer goes that extra mile, I think. In the end, I'd usually rather go out of my way to a much less busy location. read more

We went to this Harris Teeter just to get a salad from the salad bar and ended up with more than we bargained for! The food bar is extensive: salad, pizza, Asian, hot foods (American), sandwiches, desserts, you name it! You have to look at everything first to figure out what you want because you'll get to yet another section, and realize you have no more room in your to-go box for anymore food! They have everything you could want, including those things that HT makes special at the butchers counter and seafood counter - we're talking $4 poke people!! The guys that work back there are great, helpful and hilarious Go to this location. The employees are really friendly and that changes the mood of a place y'all! There's a great salad bar, and a Starbucks inside! The parking lot is a bit of a mad house - but drive slowly and remember that not everyone ALWAYS stops at stop signs. Found this grocery store, when my husband and I have first moved here to Charlotte. Harris Teeter has long since, been our go to grocery store. Place - I heard this store is one of the bigger stores than all the other Harris Teeter, so who knew? The grocery store it self has renovated and looks nice, clean, and organized. They have revamped the Starbucks here, and has a nice nook in the back for reading and hanging out with a chai tea or coffee. Front Cashiers - Are ever so friendly and nice. Seafood - They have a good selection of seafood, the people there are nice. Meat - The quality themselves, are good. I remember one guy would not accommodate my request to slice the meat for marinating purposes.... I was not happy that one day. Deli/Hot Food - I really enjoyed the brand of charcuterie's Boar's. I find their hard salamis to be delicious and fresh. I only ask for $2 worth of slices and I get a whole bunch -- just enough to go with my french bread and brie cheese. Produce - Fresh for the most part. I like their array of vegetables. The downside - a little bit pricier than what I am used to. The organics are definitely pricey. Sometimes, I cannot find fresh green onions here... Wine/Beers - They have mostly everything, and I really love their wine specials, when they have one! I always love going away with a good deal on a great Moscato. Overall, I like this grocery store. read more

I had a terrible experience with a rude checkout lady that turned me completely off to the place. The service is usually good but they take too long and this lady was beyond slow and inattentive. Also the parking lot is a nightmare. Both my car and I have been bumped into by the myriad of senior drivers (in super nice cars) that don't seem to look where they are going. I get mad even thinking about this place now. Which sucks because I used to love the hot bar. read more

I went to Harris Teeter for their custom lunch box again as I had great experience with the one I went to on Providence Road a couple of days. I really love what I had. Nevertheless this location is not as impressive as I went to a couple of days ago. Both the quantity especially is like eating in a restaurant and not from a Deli. The portion was just half of what I got. I felt like paying in a sit down restaurant. I had to get two boxes to match up. And the quality is just not what I like. I doubted if other cooked food sections will be the same. I'll not take my time to check out again. Sorry! read more

This Teeter is known as the Taj-Ma-Teeter for its enormous size. It's also immaculate. For a reformed Extreme Couponer, I can tell you, this is the ONLY grocery store where you can get some killer deals and such a wide selection. But first. Let's get one thing straight. Harris Teeter isn't cheap. Regular prices are indeed much higher than, lets say Target or Super Wal-Mart. (Bleh. WM.) But when you shop their super sales and combine coupons, you can save a TON. The buy 2 get 3 deals are pretty generous too. (Honestly, all those Crasins for about $1.30 each?!) HT is the only chain in the Charlotte area offering max 99 cent double coupons everyday. Periodically, there will be super doubles, when you can double up to $1.99 coupons. Then, about once a year, if not less frequently, TRIPLES. During these times, yes, sometimes shelves will be cleared out by crazed couponers-- but no fear. You can get a raincheck at customer service and the HT rainies don't have an expiration date. There's an extensive deli section, and a nice bakery offering free cookies and bread/spread samples. There is a lady working in the cheese section who makes some killer pimento upon request. The $5 meal deals are a great value-- though I'm a bit weary of the Asian-inspired hot bar. Some menu items are overly greasy...but I'm not complaining when there's a solid salad bar with lots of toppings right next to it. This Teeter is especially good on the customer service. No matter if you're a big burly football player, or little old lady with a walker, chances are someone will offer you curbside loading. read more
