Online pickup 0/10!! I started coming here when the George Mason location closed, I have to find a new grocery store. -I check in on the app for pickup. -There's no call box to alert an associate so you're just waiting. No phone reception because you're in the basement of the garage and/or no one answers when you call. -When you arrive there is nowhere to park because customers shopping in store take the convenient pickup spots. -Every time I have to bang on the door and hope someone answers or go inside to find someone way in the front to alert them that I'm here (defeats the whole purpose). I'm always patient with the employees because this is an issue management needs to address ASAP and I know it's a headache for them too having to peek out the door to see if you're here, crazy. Someone literally needs to have a valet style post in the garage to communicate to employees who has arrived. At this point I need to get paid too because I'm having to help other customers figure out what to do as well...the whole process is chaotic for everyone. I almost need to make sure I have a full tank of gas waiting in this garage smh, GET IT TOGETHER! read more

Pretty dystopian. Has no open checkouts so you have to always do self checkout. But then makes you scan very slowly because they're recording you scan. If you scan too fast, an employee comes to review a video of you checking out. Why not just have people do checkout? Also some of their food is expired. read more

I was a huge fan of HT when I lived in Arlington, but after moving back to Boston in 2020 I haven't been able to do much shopping there! I was visiting for one night and had a hair appointment in one of the salons above the store, so I stopped in afterwards for something to eat while waiting for the plane home. There are not a lot of stores where I would expect a pre-made salad to be good (and not soggy!), but I knew HT's would come through and it was delicious. It was $7 or 8 and (at least) half the price of what I would have paid for a crappy salad at DCA. The store was clean, self-checkout never fails and if I had more time I would have wandered around much longer. read more

I've experienced racism with a manager there. We got there at 11pm and just wanted to use the restroom and the white manager would not let us in. We were not buying anything but just picking up an associate. I would not approve to shop here because of this. read more

Harris Teeter falls somewhere between the fancy level of a Wegmans and the basic level of a Safeway. Prices can be a bit high but the quality tends to match. There is a good selection of produce, prepared foods, packaged goods, beer and wine, and boxed staples. I've had some good-quality red meat from this store. This store is big, bright, and clean. It's got a huge free parking garage underneath that is well lit. I try to sneak out midday to avoid crowds when I shop here. It's easy to use the self checkout and be out of the store and on your way. The in-store Starbucks is pretty good--I like to grab a drink before I leave. read more

I go to this location very frequently at least once sometimes twice a week! I will say that their parking garage beneath it is TIGHT but there are always plenty of open spots! Main reason I come to this location is because of the meat section. They normally have a wide selection at the counter and occasionally prepackaged (although it depends on what time you go!) I go during the week and always order straight from the counter as they do not also have what I want (beef tenderloin or sirloin steak) prepackaged. I had a really nice experience with an old black woman at the checkout. She was full energy, asked me how I was doing, and truly seemed like she was happy to be working there. She was quick efficient and handled my groceries and flowers with care! I typically do the self check out but the machines are finicky at times and there is not always an employee close by to help! This store recently opened on King Street between I-395 and Beauregard St in Alexandria. It is another of their growing trend in locations that are part of mixed commercial and residential developments. The store caters to singles, couples, and smaller families. Parking for the store is in the garage underneath and is accessed from King Street. They have an extremely large beer and wine section and carry smaller sized containers of product in frozen and canned foods. As a convenience to local workers, they're hot food, salad bar, sandwich counter and pizza shop are all located in one corner of the store and have two self-checkout registers for a quick lunch trip. A cashier was standing by to assist anyone who needed help. Just like other Harris Teeter stores they feature boars head brand deli products and have finally gotten their rep to put slicing guides on the display cases so it is easier to ask for the thickness of sliced items that one desires. Getting the deli clerk to cut that slice is another issue as both persons at the counter when I visited were relatively new and did not have the experience to understand the thickness requested. I am sure as time goes on and as more senior employees have time to provide better training the deli department will improve. The produce, meat and fish I'll work fresh and well stocked. Plenty of staff was on hand to answer questions like why did Harris Teeter discontinue Sabbret's hot dogs? The answer I got was that: "Only people in New York know what a Sabbret's hot dog is and that no one around here buys them." Just One problem with that answer is that I know what they are and I'm from around here and I would like to buy them. Evidently the corporation is made up their mind and won't be carrying that brand in the Washington Metropolitan area. Overall, a shiny new Harris Teeter store with opening staff still hanging around to get customers in the door and try to keep them. But for the most part as good as any other local Harris Teeter in the area. read more

This has been a long time coming! Rewind back to March 2019 when one of the "highlights " advertised in a sale listing of a nearby townhouse included the fact that a grocery store would be built and open by September 2019. Fast forward to today where that townhouse was bought and sold again with no grocery store built....until the grand opening a few days ago (June 2021). It's shiny, bright, and big. The produce was practically sparkling and looked fresh, there's a substantial wine/beer selection, and several made-to-order or ready made opportunities to eat. The bakery is also elaborate and had lots of pastries available. I love they prepackage boarshead meats for no wait at the deli. The aisles are super wide too. Parking is available in the garage for no cost. While I can walk to a closer Harris Teeter now, I think I'm going to make the slight extra effort to return here particularly since the produce is not fresh and goes bad quickly at the HT closer to me. read more

WORST SANDWICH DELI EVER . EVERYTIME I go here to get ANY type of sandwich, they ALWAYS HAVE NOTHING. Doesn't matter what I want; Tuna, Steak and Cheese, BBQ, Italian, wheat bread, regular potato chips, ANYTHING, THEY NEVER HAVE IT! They Got to be the LAZIEST good for nothing, losers who can't do their job and get Anything prepped and ready to serve. EVEN THE DUKE ST. location. Same situation. They NEVER have the type of sandwich or chips that I want when I go to get anything. And with the prices at places Like Jersey Mike's, Jimmy John's, Arby's, Safeway, and Roy Rogers, HT subs are all i can afford. BUT I CAN'T GET ANYTHING BECAUSE They NEVER HAVE IT READY?! Why?! It doesn't matter what day I go, or what time I go, or what sandwich i want. THEY NEVER HAVE A DAMN SANDWICH. ALWAYS leaving me no other options except Subway. I like Harris Teeter so I may be biased. I stopped by one early Wednesday morning to pick up a few things. The store was fully stocked and it was an enjoyable shopping experience because it was before 7 AM so there are no crowds. They have a parking garage that is free. I think HT is on the pricier side, but I can find everything I need so it is convenient. I have only been in this store once, but I will be back. read more

I'm not a fan of Harris Teeter. Stopped in this store for a bag of non-cook popcorn. This store had only one bag of popcorn on the shelf. I picked up the bag of popcorn and it spilled onto the floor. This bag had a hole in it. I complained to a customer service rep and asked if they had more popcorn? He laughed. This explains why this store has poor stocking. Please do better Harris Teeter! Now I remember why I'm not a fan of this store. read more

I seriously go here at least a few times a week to get groceries. It has found its groove after being open for a year and is always consistently well stocked with friendly staff. This Harris Teeter is right by my apartment which is awesome! It is also very clean and the employees are friendly/helpful. My issue with this store, however, is that I constantly get home and find out that what I bought is expired. It happens quite often with refrigerated items but recently, I've been seeing expired dry items. Today I got home and realized I had just bought biscottis that expired Sept 22... this has happened at least 4 times already (with different items). So while the location, cleanliness, and staff are great, none of that really matters when the food quality is inconsistent. I shouldn't have to check the dates of every single item I put in my cart. read more

The staff at this Harris Teeter location is always very polite and helpful. I work right around corner and often visit with my coworkers to grab little items or lunch from the salad and hot bars. This week I had the delight pleasure of meeting and being helped by Irma, who works in the prepared foods section, and Twin who assists at the self checkout. I'm a fan of the plain rotisserie chicken! Good flavor, texture, not always with the crispy skin I like but always good! The birds with less-crispy skin have moister meat, but I love a dark crispy set of wings. Best thing, for me - they don't add sugar. (I'm allergic to sugar; you wouldn't believe the foods that have sugar added. It's hard to find prepared meats made without sugar.) read more

The place is brand new & very clean. The food bar is delicious. I tried the Asian food bar- vegetable chow mein, grilled vegetables, general tso chicken, spicy potato skins & vegetable sushi- all were fresh and tasty. I'm surprised by how big this place is, it has just about everything you can think of. Parking garage available. Everyone says hello, very friendly. The pharmacy overcharged me by about $9.50 so had to wait one day to have the insurance company call it to straighten out the price - in my favor - HT was just gouging! The Rx still sits there because I don't want to park in the parking garage. Parking above ground is extremely limited. I hate the parking garage. I have never seen such a poorly labeled parking garage. I expect each space and/or column to be labeled and there to be overhead signage on each row in each direction about exits. Nada. Should be like an airport parking garage. Upon exiting the garage I saw signs at the end of the row on a perpendicular wall with the row number. There are small overhead directional exit signs when one is almost at the exit, but one does not need them at that point. Sure, the store is bright, large, has a Starbucks, and is new, but seems to carry the same items as the HT - Barcroft and HT - Duke St branches. read more

I shop here often due to convenience but it that is soon to stop. This Harris Teeter constantly has expired products out for sale (milk products in included). And when I say expired I mean weeks, and to make matters worse the products are moved to the front of the store. So they literally move the products from one place to another while it is expired. The service is lacking, half the time they are more worried about customers stealing rather than stuff working. Half the self-checkouts do not work and the cart/basket stations are consistently empty in the front. Finally, if you put in an online order into their app for a sandwich in advance your order will not be ready until HOURS after the promised time. This is due to them not checking the order machine. I recommend going elsewhere if this is not the most convenient option for you. And if you do shop here check the dates on everything. Oh, the Starbucks is also bad. Go down the road. read more
