Well, this location seems to be some offshoot version of a TJ, because this place is not it. I was very disappointed with Trader Joe's when they closed during the recent snow we had. I had just got back from a trip and needed to buy groceries, but they were closed. Grocery stores need to stay open during snow storms (even if hours are limited). This puts the community at risk if people are not able to buy basic essentials. read more

I know I'm not alone when I say I LOVE THIS PLACE! The most notable point that makes this my go-to grocery spot in Arlington, is the staff. Everyone is always so very pleasant and helpful. The international food choices in the frozen isle also keep me coming back. The affordable wine selection doesn't hurt either. If you are prepping/cooking for one, TJ's is your friend. This was my first visit to this location. I usually don't do any grocery shopping on the weekends, but I was in the area and needed a few things. I grabbed them and went on about my business. As usual, Trader Joe's is crowded. This is one of the smallest stores in the area, so that's no surprise. The staff was polite and stayed busy offering assistance and restocking the shelves. The customers were awful. If they weren't blocking your carts, they were bumping you with theirs. Because of this, I doubt I'll ever return to this location, unless I'm in the area. Soooo grateful for this location and I can say its my favorite location to visit!! The staff is always so friendly and they always have everything I am looking for on every trip. First, the flower selection is always full of options and with some TLC my flowers have always lasted at least 7 days. In flower land, that's a pretty good life!! The shelves are always full and they are continuously cleaning carts after each customer. The location is one of the smaller ones but hey still routing customer through the check outs in a social distanced manner. The location can make parking tough but they do validate parking as well so its a win win if you need to park in the garage. Each visit I check out the new item shelf to see whats new in the store while still picking up my staple items. The seasonal items are in stock now which is a fun time checking out all the pumpkin items as well as the magnums of wine, advent calendars, new seasonings, new frozen items and more. It's hard for me to not give any Trader Joe's 5 stars, so please know that this rating is relative. My favorite TJ's in the DC area is the Union Market one, but I will not complain about any! This location is convenient if you're in Arlington, there is parking, AND it is smaller than others. However, they pack it in and all of your usual Trader Joe delights should be there. More good things about this location: employees are kind, seasonal goodies are plentiful, and they have more cards than I've seen at other stores. read more

Second encounter with a cashier that I'm questioning how and why he is still employed at such an amazing TJ? The fact that "G_ _ _" feels comfortable enough to be demeaning to customers and fellow employees is disgraceful. I truly have loved everything about this store until my encounters with this person. The comments that come out of his mouth are horrific and would think its NOT allowed at TJ. This is a great Trader Joe's. They usually have a good selection of normal TJs wares, including seasonal items. The store is laid out as well as Trader Joes' are, though the beer being up front means you're basically getting that while in line to pay. They have a sampling station near the meats/wine that I haven't tried yet, but I should. Employees are great as well. One thing I will note: if you're a Verizon customer there's some place in this store that will knock your service out so much that you have to entirely restart your phone. It's not the worst thing in the world (I'm usually walking back to Courthouse after getting food so I'll restart and then get back to catching Pokémon), but something to note. Also, for Courthouse, it's probably the 2nd most convenient grocery (after Whole Foods), but the prices are better. If you're from elsewhere, you're very close to the Clarendon metro, which is nice. read more

This is a smaller Trader Joe's--it's a bit cramped and if you have a buggy, it's kind of a game of frogger to get around. Things are distributed a bit different than in some other locations to which I've been. And some things were out, though we were going later in the evening. With all those issues out of the way, it's still a Trader Joe's, there are still lots of nice items, the staff are still friendly and helpful, and it's still a nice value. Rude Cashier!! I've been going to this Trader Joes for the last two years. I work just around the corner and I often go grab food for lunch at this location. It's been a great location but today I had a horrible experience with a cashier. As I'm waiting in line to be called to a register, I see him wave his hand in the air to call me to the register. As I get there he says "I wasn't calling you" with a straight face and no eye contact. Just looking forward. I thought it was a joke and he was just messing around, but after waiting there for a solid 10 seconds and him not looking at me and just staring forward, I realized that he wasn't joking and he was just being an a**hole. Shortly after that, a lady at the register behind him who witnessed the awkward exchange, called me over and said "Here I can take you here". I'm not sure if he was just having a bad day or why y'all even hired him. I've had nothing but good experiences at this location, so I'm disappointed. read more

Just wanted to send a note of gratitude (a belated #thankyouthursday) for the hard working employees who are making sure shelves are stocked. I haven't been over as much as I'd like lately for lack of a car, but the times I've made it there since covid, I've been so impressed by how well stocked they are and most importantly how much the team has been so upbeat and friendly despite the stress I imagine they're feeling. One time on Easter Sunday they even gave out free chocolate eggs for folks stuck in the long line (as they were enforcing low density in the store). Great location with access to the . Larger than the one I frequent therefore more products variety to pick from. Saw a house plant that is worth the buy so I got it. Price is better than the ones found in the local home improvement stores. The thing is not all stores carry house plants so I guess I am just lucky. That's how I landed on Trader Joe's as a delightful store with reasonable prices, especially for frozen meals. This location is usually well stocked, probably because it's got such high traffic. On off times that means you can go in and grab most things currently advertised as specials. On peak times that means lines that wrap around the store. It's pretty orderly, just expect some wait. This store is steps from the Clarendon metro, right on the main drag in the heart of north Arlington. Needless to say a super convenient location. They also have a parking garage below the store--rare for Clarendon--and validate parking for up to 90 minutes. read more

I love this TJ's because it is really conveniently located to my house (3 min walk) and extremely close to the Clarendon Metro. They have a great wine and beer selection on top of all Trader Joe's other fun offerings that buck the norms in the grocery space. Though this location is constantly busy the staff at the checkout does a phenomenal job moving the traffic along. Every cashier I have ever worked with has been extremely pleasant and I go here about 2-3 times per week, the service is great. All of the employees are extremely knowledgeable and willing to go above and beyond to find what you need. For example, I didn't see the truffle chips on the shelf one day (truffle chips are my favorite) and one of the employees went to the back to get them for me. The atmosphere is nice and it's a pretty big Trader Joe's, especially compared to some in the downtown DC area. I think the prices are fair, especially compared to Whole Foods down the street. Trader Joe's has really unique items that I'm willing to pay a little more than Safeway prices for. Also, they have some great beauty items like the scrubs and the rosewater mist. Overall, the only complaint I have is that because this location is always so busy they tend to run out of some of my favorite items. But overall A+! read more

I love this location. Metro-accessible and easy garage parking. They also have EXCELLENT customer service! The TJ staff here is very helpful when looking for a product. They are foodies without all that extra snobbery. Cashiers and other employees make time to chat, but also leave you alone if you put your head down. Yes, TJ's has a lot of packaged, ready-to-go foods, but the food still manages to be somewhat healthy and tasty. (I won't go into the Whole Foods vs. TJ's debate. apples to oranges). Their produce section isn't bad as some people claim, as they have a variety of fresh fruits + veggies. Sometimes this location can run out of certain high-demand products, depending on the day or season (As I recall, a staff member told me Tuesdays are the best day to go). I love their Asian food too -- crispy seaweed, mushroom mochi, pork buns. yum. They also have a great return policy. There was one week where I bought a loaf of Ezekiel raisin bread that quickly expired and sprouted mold. I was able to come in and replace my loaf without going through receipts/cashier. read more

It's the supermarket expertly crafted for the uneducated shopper who knows nothing about cooking and very little about food, and doesn't mind overpaying because they consume small quantities and wouldn't know quality, fresh food if it bit them in the rear. The TJ message is that somebody -- "Joe" presumably -- has scoured the world to find unique products and values for you; but the truth is that this is the same private label quality you'd find for less at Costco or Safeway or Whole Foods. The packaging makes you feel like you're getting unique products you can't find anywhere else, and the small sizes/quantities and unit pricing make you feel like things are cheaper than they really are. It's amazing how much they pack into this store! I have been a huge fan of Trader Joe's and this location is one of my favorites. Trader Joe's is one of the few grocery stores in the city, where you can spend $50 bucks and actually have lots of food (something edible) in your purchase....other than seasonings, toilet paper, cleaning supplies, and dishwashing liquid. I mean...have you ever gone to the grocery store, spent a $100 dollars, and left out of there with barely anything edible to last you for a week??!...lol...I have and would be mad as a mug! Oops, sorry...I digress. At any rate, this is not the case at this grocery store. To be such a small store it is the most efficient grocery store that I have ever been to! It is always so well organized, fully stocked and the lines to check out move super fast! The customer service is on point as well, always friendly people everywhere willing to help you and very knowledgeable pretty much about all the products that are stocked in the store. The produce is always fresh, the selection of items are well-stocked and the meats are quality cuts. Not to mention, the prepared dinners and meals in the frozen section are incredible and some of the best finds around when it comes to looking for a quick-fix to dinner. Honestly, this place has saved me many of nights coming home from work late and not having the time to cook something healthy. You name it...Marsala Chicken, vegetable-shrimp lol mein, duck confit, gourmet pizza, blackened salmon...and the list goes on and on. The place has it all...at prices unheard of for the quality. You are bound to find everything you need here and more. Also, I find that they go out of their way to check their stock or locate just about any item that you're interested in that is missing from the shelf. The only downside to this location, is the parking. The parking garage at this location can get really bad (tight) and on weekends somewhat congested to enter/exit. But in all, this is one of my favorite grocery chains and store locations to shop for groceries. Not to mention, the "Two Buck Chuck" wines (now $3.60) are the best deal around for keeping the wine cellar stocked for guest and friends popping over!
