I priced other moving companies that came highly recommended but they were twice as expensive! Matt and Tom were very personable and professional. Can't say enough good things about this moving company! Call them for an estimate. read more

I've moved, literally a dozen times in the last 20 years and never ever had a better experience than Harris. The owner, David Harris was incredibly helpful in scheduling. The 3 movers who came were spectacular. They were fast, accommodating and came in under budget. Also, very respectful and helpful. I will definitely be working with this group again. read more

Awful moving service not careful with handling furniture, etc.. broke several pieces of ny furniture and lost screws and parts to other pieces of furniture.. Also charge much more than initial quoted price including did not work the aloted time provide in original estimate. Stay away from this crooked moving company. read more

Scheduled the move when the pandemic seemed to be easing in May. Didn't think to ask if the employees would be wearing masks. Called several days before the move and asked if the movers would be wearing masks. We were told "No." We explained that we have a 3-year-old with a history of health conditions. They refused. So, we cancelled. The owner stated "You're really pissing me off." He threatened to come to my house and demand payment for supplies dropped off in preparation for the move. That was alarming and aggressive. I stated we would mail payment after receiving an invoice. Shortly thereafter the owner hung up. I am very glad we did not go through with the move, and until the company decides to treat clients with more humanity, kindness, and respect, I do not recommend Harris. read more

I recently used Harris movers and am completely satisfied. They worked efficiently and came in at the price quoted. Very hard workers and polite. One of the guys even helped me decide where to put one of the pieces of furniture. When I changed my mind about where to put the couch they moved it with no issue at all. Very accommodating. read more

the owner was not present during the move (until I called him because the movers damaged my house in several places and denied it). when I complained to one mover that the crew damaged my bathroom, his response was "we don't need this shit" and instructed me to sign a document reflecting any additional damage would not be their responsibility or they'd leave the entirely packed truck on my front lawn. i HAD to be out of the house that day as it was sold so I was trapped. they damaged a blue wall in my new house and said "blue tape will hide that". WORST company ever. the only decent thing I can say is the owner attempted to fix my laminate floor they damaged, but was rather unsuccessful, but he was on his hands and knees trying... read more

Encountered a harris moving pickup truck in the street, very aggressive and rude driver. I would not risk my furniture to those drivers.

We used Harris Moving for a short local house move shortly before Christmas. They were an hour early without warning or a phone call and rude about it. They refused to put on masks in our homes or near us. One of the crew, the son of the owners, said "we're exempt, besides. That's what you get for moving in a pandemic" . The same person also lifted an antique ( circa 1910) lamp by its shade and broke it. It required a $50.00 repair. I called the office to implore the manager to tell the men to wear masks and not only did she refuse but she unleashed an inappropriate tirade on me about why they don't have to do it. That manager is the wife of the owner and the mother of the very rude moving man, a short blond man who appeared to be berwern 25 - 35. When the crew arrived at our new home the lead man on the crew, a very tall brown haired guy who was very polite, wore a mask while in our home and while dealing with our paperwork. We were in a bind at the last minute and flustered that they were early while we were trying to take care of last minute items or I would have canceled the move that day and called another company. We will tell EVERYONE we know what our experience was with Harris Movers. Do not give them your hard earned money. Just don't.. there are other much nicer companies out there who comply with Covid19 precautions. read more

Avoid Harris Movers if you value customer service. I have used Harris Movers 3 times now. The first two moves were great. Last week, not so much. Mr. Harris (the owner) is a great guy, charges a reasonable hourly rate and his team are mostly all very hard workers. My problem last week was his son, Dave Harris Jr., is his foreman. Moving is stressful, especially when selling your home and buying your new one the same day. Dave Harris Jr is a horribly surly individual who has zero customer service skills. He makes a bad first impression because he just doesn't seem to care. My wife and I may get a little hot tempered when disrespected, but Dave took it to a new level. If a mover can't move certain items for various reasons, they could say it, explain it in a decent, empathetic way to the customer. The main issue was moving some potted plants in our back yard. They did it for us 6 years ago when we moved, and Mr. Harris agreed to do it again for us this move. My wife takes great pride in her perennials, so we don't want to simply dump the dirt and throw them out. Again, when Mr Harris came out a month ago to give us an estimate, he said they'd move them again for us. His son didn't feel the same way. He decided he wasn't moving them, that they'll make a mess in "his" truck. What I take offense to is the way he answered and didn't want to do what was already agreed to. At that point my wife got angry at his short, rude responses. Dave snapped and told my wife to "F*** off, gave here the finger multiple times and called her a B****. That is never acceptable. If I ever spoke like that to a customer, I'd be fired immediately. I was not there when this transpired. I tipped the men very generously, they worked extremely hard. Had known Dave had called her what he called her I would have tipped the other guy's gratuity and given Dave nothing. Again, Mr Harris is great, and his movers work hard. His son is simply an individual who should not be customer facing. If you read other reviews, I see I am not the only one with the exact same issue with him. One reviewer said he had to call the police. I believe it. If that doesn't bother you, if you're okay being screamed at and verbally abused, go ahead, and hire them because other than Dave Jr, they do a good job. If not for him, I'd give 5-star review. read more

I recently used Harris Moving for a move from Bordentown to Hamilton NJ. They came out and give me a very reasonable estimate for the day after Thanksgiving. Not only were they courteous and professional but they moved me faster then they expected and the price I paid was considerably lower then the estimate. I have had other movers in the past and this has NEVER happened before. The team that moved me was very careful and nothing was damaged. I would recommend this company to anyone with no reservations. read more

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY! This will be your biggest nightmare! The company is VERY unprofessional, they will not give you ANY customer service, they will treat you like they are doing you a favor and if you are unlucky enough to have the son of the owner be your mover, he will insult you and harass you to the point that you will feel threaten and need to call the police for help. He will also be careless with all your fragile boxes and literally throw them throughout the house with complete disregard. The other movers will be nice to you but they will not do anything for fear to lose their job since the son of the owner is involved. When calling the main company, Eileen (the mother and co-owner) will simply back up her son and nothing will be done. In fact, she will also be impolite and rude to you. This company is not interested on repeat customers, never heard of customer satisfaction and will only add aggravation to an already stressful situation as moving your home. Their fees are as high as other competitive companies so why bother with bad (horrible) service. In summary, stay away of this company! read more

Did a great job moving our stuff. Fast, reasonable, guys were courteous. Then, they got our couch stuck in the stairwell of the new house going down to the basement. Told us the drywall could get damaged when they went to get it out. But of course we had to get it out. We couldn't leave it there! Made a huge hole. Also damaged some of the ceiling. Guy on site was very nice, said they would probably take care of it. Told us to call the office. Cut to us trying to get in touch with them three separate times. Finally did. The movers told the owners that we were told to take the couch out of the stairwell or continue to move it downstairs and it might do damage and that we chose to move it down. That's not true. They gave us the choice of keeping it stuck or possibly damaging the wall. Mover also told the owners that he did not say they would take care of it. So it became our word against theirs. Anyway, they will not fix it! At least a thousand dollars worth of damage from their mistake. And they will not fix it. The owners were both quite rude which is a shame because they were quite kind when we were dealing with them before the move. Really loved that this was a small family owned company and truthfully they made a mistake. It happens. But the fact that they won't fix it is reprehensible. And the amount of rudeness was uncalled for and obnoxious. Our real estate agent and others in the moving/real estate business were shocked that they wouldn't pay for it considering they have insurance!! We are too. Don't use this company!! read more

These guys are bad apples. I am a pretty laid back person and used them at least three times before. They always had some reason to over charge me, but I always capitulated (they must of thought I was an easy mark). The last time they helped me move they charged me $1000.00 OVER their estimate. Mind you, the furniture they moved was the exact same stuff they helped me move over the years! In fact, we had used their storage space as well so there was absolutely no excuse for them to foul up the estimate. read more

The owner of the business set up the hours of the move date. Everything went smoothly and the movers worked hard to do their best work. The final asking price was slightly different than original but significantly cheaper than other movers. I would use them again. Thanks, Mitch, for helping. read more

The four guys who moved our stuff were amazing - courteous, on time, and continually cracking jokes with us and each other. Very pleasant to work with and made the experience easy. The rest? Not so much. Our couch stuck in the stairwell of the new house because the legs got wedged against the stairs. Crew leader told us that the ceiling drywall could get damaged when they tried to move it. Except that two of their crew members were stuck behind the couch in our basement, so of course we had to get it out. Long story short - made a huge hole and damaged some of the basement drop ceiling. Crew on site was very nice, and the team lead said they would probably take care of it. I tried calling three separate times to get in touch with them about it and never received a call back. Finally got in touch with them yesterday, and had the owner out at my house today. End result: They're refusing to fix it! At least a thousand dollars worth of damage from their mistake. And they will not fix it. The owners were both quite rude which is a shame because they were quite kind when we were booking them before the move. Guess they just wanted our money. Not only were both of them rude, but they insinuated that I had told their crew to put a piece of furniture that I "knew wouldn't fit down the stairs down there anyway". Really loved that this was a small family owned company and truthfully they made a mistake. It happens. But the fact that they won't fix it is reprehensible. Would sooner put all my stuff in my own truck over an infinite amount of carloads than EVER use or recommend this company again. read more

We moved for the first time in 41 years and the Harris team made it a really good experience. They were willing to do whatever we asked and moved everything on-time and with out any issue. I would use them again. read more

Had a horrible experience with them, including them telling me after they did all the work that I owe them an additional $125 which they haven't told me about at any point earlier. I would never use them again. read more

We had used Harris Moving in 2005 and had a great experience so we decided to use them again. They were prompt in visiting to provide an estimate and flexible with move date. However, when they came to pack for us their estimate was 50% less than the actual price. The same occurred when they actually moved us- the bill was significantly more than the estimate. We got to our new home over 2 hours before they did which had us wondering if they were hanging out drinking coffee on our dime. When they unpacked they piled boxes that were clearly marked "fragile" at the bottom of box piles. We've not unpacked enough to see how much "fragile" belongings were broken. We also noticed damage to an antique table that was not present prior to their moving us. We were extremely disappointed after the amazing service we received 8 years prior. read more

We interviewed about 7 moving companies prior to our relocation from NJ to Charlotte. We decided on Harris based on my husbands meeting with Dave Harris and a recommendation from a friend who used them to relo to Long Isalnd. Moving day came and Tom and Edgar arrived as expected and loaded the truck with all of our belongings (4 bedroom home). The delivery time in NC was set for Saturday morning. Tom called Friday evening and asked if they could unload a few items that night, they were about an hour away. We were all for that. They ended up unloading about 1/2 of the truck on Friday night. They arrived at about 7:30 on Saturday morning to finish the job and were done by 9:30. Tom and Edgar are really super guys. They are hard workers...as my husband put it..."they are beasts"...he meant this is the most complimentary way. They are personable and respectful and extremely hardworking. Not a single thing was broken, they were very careful not to bump onto walls, coverd the wood floors, etc. And, when it came time to pay them, the price was what was quoted to us before we hired them. I highly recommend Harris and would use them again without a second thought! They made this very stressful life event a little easier! read more

We have moved twice now in the past 5 years and we are always a little apprehensive about strangers "touching our stuff". Weird, right? Harris Moving has a great crew, very careful, friendly, personable guys. We are very happy with our decision to go with them, no damage! Pricing was a little more than we anticipated, yet the overall experience was good. Hope it's our last move though! read more

We have used Harris Moving twice, once in 2014 within NJ and again in May of this year to move us from NJ to South Carolina. . Both times, we have had an excellent experience. The price quoted was the price we paid, the fellows who worked with us were professional and very helpful. There is good communication with the owners and all questions were answered in advance. I would not hesitate to recommend them. read more

I recently had Harris move me from my home into a smaller house. I was absolutely appalled by the service I received. They had trouble removing some of my furniture from my house and tried to convince me to just leave it behind. When they had trouble getting a piece of furniture into my new house, they wanted me to sell it. This was my couch that I paid a great deal of money for! One of the amateur men they sent admitted that this was only his second day on the job and another stated that he was leaving the business. The men spent a lot of time standing around, smoking, and left all the butts on the ground outside. When it came time to settle the bill, the amount nearly knocked me off my feet. It was DOUBLE the amount of the estimate. I understand there were complications getting furniture in and out, but double?? We have used Harris in the past, but NEVER again. The service is NOT what it used to be! read more
