6 oz Tri-Tip, BBQ Pulled Pork, Mac & Cheese, White Cheddar Mash Potatoes, Potato Salad, mild, sweet, and spicy BBQ sauce choices

An unplanned lunch outing with my hubby and daughter turned into a new favorite spot! None of us have eaten here, but we're fans of Harris Ranch beef. First bite into the tri-tip... yummm! It was so tender and moist, not fatty but melted in your mouth. Then a bite of cheddar mashed potatoes, delish! The mac & cheese was creamy and flavorful. We also had delish pulled pork and the potato salad had a great bite and packed with seasoning. The three of us walked away with leftovers, full and happy. Dan took our order (not sure if he's the GM or owner) which included a ton of questions by me lol- he literally had the patience of a saint! His personal service, including checking on how we were doing twice (he made his rounds with every table) as well as a handshake and a goodbye. PS Went back with a friend the following week. I had the pulled pork baked potato with everything on it ! She had the tri-tip salad and ate every bite. She planning on picking up dinner to go to feed her family, that how much she enjoyed it!

Went to pick up Smiths Cookies at Sully's gas station and was excited to see that this location had the Harris BBQ location! My husband ordered the tri tip sandwich with the Mac and Cheese as the side and I ordered the Beef Tips Fries. The fries were VERY decadent and the beef tips were soft and complimented the fries well! I love the take on "carne asada fries" yet mixing it up with bbq meats! The green onion was a great topping as I love green onion. I just seen that baked potatoes are an option and definitely want to come back for that! My husband's tri tip was delicious! Perfect smoked flavor and very soft! The original BBQ sauce was a very nice compliment for the sandwich. Customer service was amazing! The young man at the counter was patient and very kind! Can't wait to come back and try other menu items! Thank you.

Decided to try for the first time and was pretty excited to come in...Was a bit worried as it has a high number of negative and mediocre reviews, but eventually decided maybe others were just wrong. I've always thought in my mind that if the ribs are good at a BBQ place, everything else will be pretty good too, so that's where I started. I also ordered brisket and tri tip and a slew of sides. Sadly the ribs were almost too salty to eat. I think if I'd have stayed at the location, to eat, I'd have asked for my money back. I was able to eat 1 almost 2 ribs before finally throwing it away. After sadly dumping the ribs in trash, moved onto the brisket and tri tip. Both were acceptable, but sadly just ok. Brisket was tender, but somehow pretty dry, not even a smoke ring was noted. Tri tip was flavored good, but also dry. All the meats seemed like they just weren't very fresh. I think Saturday might not be the best day to get your BBQ on.... Sides were ok, but sadly did not stand out. I've only been to a few BBQ places where the sides were as important as the meats to the staff. Sad when the fries are better than the rest! I've been to most every other BBQ place in Bako area and they're just not on a level that would warrant return. Red House BBQ in Tehachapi seems to be the only one in the area, producing fresh BBQ that is worth the drive. Meats are prepared EVERYDAY and seem fresh every time I've been there. Meats are tender, juicy and NEVER had a bad meal!!! Some would even say the sides are better than the meats and the meats are AMAZING! The brisket, could compete with the best in Texas or Kansas and maybe even win! If I could send every BBQ owner to Red House for a BBQ class I would suggest it! I hate....HATE writing negative reviews, but sadly everything was either too salty or dry and definitely not at a high enough level to attract others. Staff were super nice and quick to fill the order and building was clean and not sticky like many other similar restaurants. I wish the food was better, so sorry to say I won't be back. It looks like the owner personally responds to every comment, which is amazing, saying he listens to his customers to make changes that will better the business, but after that meal, I don't think that's ACTUALLY a priority as others have said exactly how I felt while I was eating the food. Sadly there wasn't a single other person in the business eating...That usually speaks for itself. I hope it improves, because I think in a short time, this business will also go away unless the food becomes a priority...Try Red House and see what you can improve! Good Luck!

Brother found this location off reading reviews. We didn't expect it to be inside the gas station. This little barbecue place is a small chain off of the main Harris barbecue / Harris ranch. There's several of us so we all tried different items. The tri-tip sandwiches were delicious. The beans were good. The potato salad tasted kind of like the ones you get at the grocery store. I felt that the ribs that I got could've had some more flavor, but they were okay. The beef tips kind of seemed more like a beef and gravy type consistency and mac & cheese was good. The white cheddar mashed potatoes were good so overall we all enjoyed our meal definitely wouldn't mind Stopping by if in that area but not drive completely out of our way to go there either. Workers behind the counter had great customer service were kind of polite told them it was our first time being there so they helped us out with suggestions. While dining there noticed that they seem to have a lot of regular customers showing up and placing orders as the knew certain customers by name.

Great stop when in the area! Grab a plate of bbq made with famous Harris Ranch. Brisket needed a little more bark, but the beef tip and sides were very tasty. Grab some rub and sauce while you are there! #spicemeister approved!

I will say I enjoyed the tri tip and sides. The ribs were not bad but they were extremely salty. I came to look at the reviews and came across a similar one that also reviewed how salty the ribs were. It could have been a bad batch so I'll give it another try as everything else was pretty good.

Decided to try Harris BBQ for dinner. Employees were really nice and gave me some baked beans since they made extra. The tri tip sandwich was a solid 8/10. It had spicy mayo on it but you couldn't really taste it at all. The pickled onions were a nice touch.

Delicious! A must try if you love BBQ the ribs cane right off the bone, chicken was amazing, and the macaroni and beans was so good. The beans i have no idea what they season it with but very different but a good different. Get your order today yum yum

I had the 1/2 rack of ribs and side with 6oz Chicken. I hade bbq baked beans and potato salad. The ribs and chicken were amazing, the potato salad was on point but the bbq baked beans were ok. I didn't like the sweet ginger flavor of the beans. Service was excellent and I can't wait until the opens by my house.

Tri Tip sandwich. BBQ sauce on the side.

Sadly, this BBQ did not impress. We tried twice, but both visits were disappointing. The tri-tip sandwich was okay. Decent meat, but nothing exceptional. I didn't like the sauce I got with it, but that's my personal taste, I don't like overly sweet sauce. I'm glad I got it on the side. Our second trip, I tried the Beef Tip Fries. The topping was good (beef tips, cheese sauce, sour cream, scallions) but the fries were offensively salty. I ate the topping and had to throw the rest away. My husband tried the brisket and cheddar sandwich, but they forgot the cheddar, then the brisket meal. He was nonplussed by both. The mac and cheese tasted more like mac than cheese. The beans had an odd flavor we couldn't place, but they were good. I really wanted to recommend this place since it's in my neighborhood, but I don't. We have some very good local BBQ joints in town, and this one doesn't measure up.

I went to try a Dino rib for the first time and it was on of the most amazing, delicious and tasty meat I have ever had! Definitely recommend this place.

Amazing Amazing great job! Dan was fast & very welcoming, he also suggested some items on the menu that I haven't tried yet. I ordered the brisket sandwich with cheddar cheese, it was amazing! I got their original salsa with a side of original barbecue and their spicy barbecue. Meat was tender/ very well seasoned
