Sauces are incredible! Really adds the umami! Ones called Sassy Southerner which was a spicy bbq and the other is a Carolina Gold.

I haven't good BBQ in a very long time. This was GREAT BBQ! The Service right from the start was amazing! Ordered delivery, and within a minute I was getting called from a very lovely lady from the restaurant. She was informing me that unfortunately they didn't have the meats I was ordering "tri tip and ribs." But that she would tell me what they did have, "brisket and Turkey"; that sounds good! Unfortunately they didn't have the buttermilk pie that I tried to order for dessert and the only thing they had was "sweet potato pie or banana pudding cake" one didn't sound appetizing and the other I'm allergic to. So she did let me change it for an extra meat. She recommended the sausage and I'm glad she did! Yum! Everything tasted fantastic! Meat was tender, nice and fatty for you brisket lovers. Turkey was moist and flavorful! Sausage was mind blowing good! Especially when you dip it in the Carolina Gold! All the Meats; Total Win! Now as for the sides. Here's where I had a problem. Mac & Cheese was disappointing. Really no flavor, not very cheesy, just noodles with some cheese on top. Potato salad was ok, heavy on the dill, but not bad. The pickle slices are definitely homemade, nice that they added them, but I honestly didn't even eat them after the first one. Kind of sweet in my opinion. The biggest let down for me was the cornbread. Just from the thickness, the size of it, I was excited! I love cornbread, especially with BBQ! This tasted off. Like the brine from the pickles soaked into the cornbread and left it with this weird, sweet, tangy, peppery flavor. It was very off putting. I took one bite then set it aside. Can't speak on the ambiance, cause I got my food delivered, but from delivery alone? I'm very impressed with this place. I will definitely be ordering from here one more time before I go home. Bakersfield is very lucky to have these wonderful people and this amazing BBQ. Hopefully one day, they'll branch down to Visalia. We could use some BBQ down there. Especially Great BBQ like this! Don't let my own quarrels with the sides make you think twice about eating here, this place truly knows how to handle their meats! Amazing flavor all the way!

Drove by the other day and decided to try this BBQ spot. Very small inside and so very few sitting areas. We waiting a while for anyone to show up to help us at the counter. Ended up with 2 people behind us waiting. Finally an employee came up on the phone and hung up and started to help us. Not too friendly but I guess maybe because there were a few people in line. We ordered and the food came out pretty fast. The food was good and so were the BBQ sauce options. They had sweet tea but not unsweet Tea. Overall good was good, service was blah.

1st time being here had high expectations because of the reviews but we were really disappointed . We got there & not even greeted . Any way we order & it took a lil to get our food because it was a lil crowded when we got there . We got our food & it was looking so delicious but everything was lukewarm almost cold I honestly couldn't understand why . I got collard greens they were in the fire while I was ordering them in some how they were cold & very soupy like extra extra water idk if it was a collard greens soup by the other pictures I seen in the reviews none looked like mine . But anyway i still give them a try . The meat had good flavor thoe but idk I would have to probably go in a really busy day so I could get my food hot fresh . I just ended up going somewhere else .

Big Hoss Sandwich

Delicious downtown bbq! This place is small with a few tables inside and outside and just a few employees. I had the big hoss sandwich with Mac and cheese. I would have done without the pimento cheese spread and pickles, so I know that for next time. The brisket itself was flavorful and delicious and a large portion. Bun was yummy too and mac and cheese was great. It was a great value in my opinion about $15 total not including a drink, for the amount of meat you get I thought it was a good deal these days, I've spent the same amount on a deli sandwich.

In the heat of the moment on a manic Monday I forgot my wallet on the way to work. Almost skipped lunch and had to remind myself it's 2024. I used this lovely app to find a place that accepts Apple Pay. As fate would have it angry barnyard was the place. I walked in and ordered my 2 meats 2 sides and a drink. The counter service was on point. Seating area is small but comfortable and well lit. I believe that sides should be unremarkable an unremarkable side compliments the dish perfectly. If it's remarkable the side was either really good or really bad. I thought the greens here were remarkably good; not overcooked, super juicy and flavorful with generous chunks of meat. The main meat portion was smaller than expected although still large enough to take home leftovers. The bbq sauce is self serve so I poured it generously and it melted in my mouth right along with the brisket. Somehow maybe because of the scorching heat the standout piece of this meal for me was the drink. It's a bottomless glass of sweet tea. Sounds simple enough but it was just so good the perfect amount of sweet and a hint of mint. It was so incredibly refreshing I almost didn't mention the food. Anyway it's crazy hot out there please stay hydrated and try this tea if you like that sort of thing.

I came here for lunch, and it was fairly busy. They do have outdoor seating. I ordered the brisket, chicken, beans & potato salad. I did not get the chicken however. I was served pork ribs. When I went to the counter to inquire, I was dismissed and was told "you ordered the ribs". It wasn't until I had to pull up my receipt that they changed my ribs to chicken. The brisket was great. Juicy and full of flavor. I lived in Alabama for a decade, and I was surprised Angry BBQ had White Sauce, and it was as good as I've had back at Gibson's or Dreamland. They also serve big portions, so come hungry. Another delta was the few flies hanging around inside the restaurant. Price: $28.75

Had superb lunches today with brisket, ribs, hot links, killer sides and wonderful sweet iced tea. See photos! We'll be back!!

The Little Bo! Brisket, Pulled Pork, Hot Link sausage with barbecue sauce, and Alabama white sauce on a brioche bun!

Wife and I love this place! I'm a bit of a BBQ snob, I generally feel like I can do better at home on my own smokers and most spots, but Angry Barnyard has never disappointed! Be sure to get the sweet tea with your meal, you'll be glad you did. My go to isn't on the menu in store but is called The Little Bo, it is huge, pretty much enough for two meals! Do yourself a favor and come try this place! But hurry in before they sell out!

Stuffed (Smothered) baked potato with chicken Loaded Tater

We went for lunch and got two meals. The pulled pork sandwich and a loaded potato with chicken. If you have an appetite, this is a great place. Service was quick and the portions generous. I had the Alabama white sauce on my tater, and that's got some great flavor. All this for under $25.

The tri-tip was great, not dry and went well with the bread. Wasn't personally a fan of the chicken. It was well cooked but too salty for my tastes. My fiancé didn't seem to mind it. All the sides were great. I really liked the batter they used on the fried green beans. Perfect level of crispy for me. Also loved the seasoning of the potato salad. The mac and cheese is like a better version of Hometown buffet's mac and cheese, I also loved it. Makes me want to try it with the hot links next time. We also tried the BBQ sauces. Each were very good and paired well with the food. But either the food is so good I don't think it needs sauce. Or, for me, their sauces are missing that addictive aspect. They were pretty middling for me. Hands down crowd favorite though, were the ribs. We watched as the fiancé picked up the rib and fall off the bone. THE RIBS ARE SO GOOD YOU CAN EAT THE BONE. I LOVE EATING BONES. They also aren't scared to leave the fat on. These alone were the hit of the day for me. I want to take my elderly mom here just for the ribs because they cook them the way we cook them. Overall. Pretty much my new favorite BBQ place now. It's pricy and out of the way for me, but I don't care. I've driven farther out for lesser quality food.

There were also no utensils or napkins in the bag, which meant I had to drive all the way back. As for the food itself, it was just... meh. The biggest disappointment was the ribs--they were honestly the worst I've ever had. Dry, tough, and lacking any real flavor. I'm not sure how ribs end up that overcooked, but it was pretty bad. The rest of the food didn't make up for it either. For the price, I expected much better quality and basic attention to detail. Unfortunately, this experience missed the mark on both food and service. I won't be coming back.

I guess because it's a sports bar restaurant, and it's in Bakersfield. I got the shock of my life. It turned out, this was the best barbecue food I ever had. Not only that, but it's very affordable. I would say a bargain. I didn't have to spend 100+ dollars for 2 persons, like a lot of so called high quality barbecue restaurants. The briskets and ribs were amazing. Delicious, flavorful, and melts in your mouth. Sides were also delicious. The service was good too. You just go up and get your order. It took a little time, but the staff is helpful and friendly. I'll be back here again, the next time I'm in Bakersfield. Maybe I'll visit the Buck Owen's museum. Bakersfield is truly the Texas of California, although I've only been to El Paso, Texas.
