We used North American Fencing twice in the past 10 years. They did a 5ft chain link fence at our…read morefirst house, and I thought they did a pretty nice job. We did ask for about a 1-2 inch gap where the fence met the ground, this what I could weed eat underneath, some areas did have the gap, and some didn't, I could live with it. When we purchase our second house we decided to use them again since we were relatively satisfied the first time. What a terrible experience the second time around. Took them weeks to come out to give us an estimate, but I understand things happen, so it was no big deal. Finally get he estimate done, agree to have them do the fence, said they would start in a couple weeks, nearly a month later work finally started, once they started it went pretty quick. Again, I asked for a gap between the fence and the ground, NO GAP at all this time. Not a good way to start off. We got the chain link fence with a brown rubber coating, our other fence had the green rubber coating and it held up great. The brown coating we got this time was dry rotted and peeling off within a year. After the first winter I noticed that all of our corner posts had tears in them. Water was getting in the bottom of the post underground and would freeze inside the post causing it to split open. So I called the company and left a message, about 2 days later a rep called me back and we discussed the issue. He said that this was a result of "reverse osmosis", ummm say what now. I'm no scientist, this isn't reverse osmosis, this is a poss installation job. When they set the posts in concrete they should have made sure that the post wasn't protruding thru the bottom of the concrete baes, or if they really would have done it properly they would have encased the post with cement inside a plastic bucket like most people do now a days. So they basically told me there was nothing that they could OR would do, and I wasn't going to scream and holler because that doesn't get you anywhere. Instead about 5 neighbors in my neighborhood needed fences and I successfully talked them into going with another company, they were all extremely satisfied with the work that was done by the other company. Also, I work for an insurance company, so I talk with folks all day. Anytime fencing is brought up, I immediately tell of my tale with this company in hopes that others make he right decision in using someone else.

I called and was told the wood the used was cheaper than what the use now. Wanted to charge me $1k to fix. This is freaking crazy.
