When I called at 5 PM on a Saturday during a storm seeking help to remove a pine tree that was hanging over the bedroom of my house at a 45-degree angle, suspended by a single branch from another tree, I had no idea that Mr. Dolan, the owner, had just finished work for the day and was already home. I explained the situation, and he didn't hesitate -- he got ready, drove to his company to retrieve a bucket truck, and came straight to help. He arrived about an hour later, assessed the tree, and offered me a very fair price. I have had more than a few poor experiences with contractors during emergencies, where costs can rise steeply compared to normal circumstances, but that was not the case here. Mr. Dolan gave clear explanations of his plan and the associated costs, and had the tree down in about an hour with no damage to my house. To have the owner personally come out to help a stranger in a difficult situation -- without taking advantage on pricing -- while still delivering excellent work was a genuinely pleasant surprise. I cannot recommend Mr. Dolan and Heavy Tree Services highly enough.

There were so many separate mentions and recommendations. Patrick Dolan is the owner. He is very responsive, picking up the phone while I was leaving a voice message one evening. He came out as soon as day broke the next morning to provide an estimate and we scheduled a date soon after. He and a helper showed up early on a 15 degree Fahrenheit day and quickly set up and had the job done in no time. And, important to note, it was a steep and long walk from the street to the back edge of my property and required many treks up and down to haul away tree branches and trunk sections. They then used their equipment to chip and shred the pieces. I am pleased and would recommend. Note that I paid cash at the end of the job and Patrick says he accepts checks, too.

Accepting the estimate and paying the deposit couldn't have been easier. The 4 guys who came to do the work shortly thereafter walked the property with us and were careful to understand exactly what we wanted. They were knowledgeable and professional. Everything was done as we wanted, and they checked in with us during the process to make sure we were satisfied. They cleaned everything up well.
