I really could not be happier about our experience with Flaherty. We had a dying tree in a tricky spot in front of our house intermingled with power lines and hanging over the street, and they took it down with no issues whatsoever. Steve is incredibly friendly and easy to deal with. He called back within an hour, and he worked around our schedule to take care of the tree that week. He and his team did a really professional job getting the tree down safely, and cleaning up the work afterward. We had to keep the stump, as it had become a part of a retaining wall over the years, and he had the foresight to leave a really nice-looking clean cut on the stump, so the finished project looks great. read more

I asked Flaherty Tree Service to aggressively prune all of the trees in our backyard and to cut down a large locust tree. I was very pleased with there service. This business does not return your calls and everytime you call the do called switchboard which is their messaging system, they never return your calls and they ask you the same thing each time you call "Can I get your name, phone, email , and address. You should have that sh_t on file. I don't recommend this company as their communication is uptrocious! read more

There is a difference in working with massive big box companies and Flaherty. Great team great owner. Their work simply changed how my back yard looked. I was convinced I needed to get rid of trees and they made the trees look so much nicer. I'm glad I kept them. Thined them out and sun light now peeks through perfectly. Showed up on time and worked until the job was done. They were going at it so hard I went and got them pizza. Nice courteous and dedicated to what they are doing. I had them remove a tree that was intertwined with a billion wires. They got that one down as well. So they are really really good at this stuff. read more

This company came to my property, quoted a job and it took two months to get them to come back and do the work. After multiple cancellations, they finally arrived and increased the quote by $400 on the spot. This is a shady company trying to take advantage of people after they enter into a quoted agreement. This company was working in my neighbors yard and, without my permission, dropped an enormous tree on my property. I was notified by another neighbor and came home to find 3 men in my yard cutting the trunk. There was a huge crevice in my lawn, huge amounts of neighbors tree limbs and debris stuck in my pine tree and shrubs between our properties were smashed. I was assured my yard would be returned to prior condition and thanked for being so understanding. When nothing was done I phoned the owner and was promised they would come back and take care of crater in yard, remove my neighbors tree limbs from my pine and remove smashed shrubs. Again, nothing was done. Called owner again. He was rude and asked "are you going to have a heart attack over this?" After this call I sent him a letter. Few days later someone returned to my home, filled crater w dirt and grass seed. Nothing else has been done and my letter was ignored. The huge limbs left in my pine will fall with heavy wind or snowfall. This company trespassed on my property in order to complete a job for my neighbor. It is outrageous that I was treated so rudely and they have not returned to repair my yard. read more

I just want to show my appreciation to Flaherty Tree Service for doing such a great job with a tight turnaround. The neighbor's tree got blown on to our roof yesterday and made it necessary for our power to be disconnected until the tree could be removed. These guys came in quick, did and expert job and cleaned up beautifully. I had 4 giant overgrown trees in the front of my house that were ruining my roof, wood siding and foundation. I called several companies for estimates, and only a few even bothered to call back let alone come take a look at them. Even Davey Tree came out to look and told me they wouldn't do them because they were too close to the power lines. Steve Flaherty came out the next day after I called him to give me an estimate, and it was several hundred dollars less than my other quotes. He was able to schedule me for that Saturday since I wanted to be home when they were working. Him and his crew worked very carefully around the power lines and really took their time to make sure they didn't cause any damage. I was really impressed with not only what a great job they did with the trees, but also how they left the places cleaner than it was when they got there. They were all very friendly and professional and I honestly can't recommend them enough. If I ever need any tree services in the future, I won't even bother calling anyone else. We hired Flaherty Tree Service to remove a dead maple tree in our front yard in late July. The tree removal was fine, however a patch of sidewalk was damaged during the removal. I e-mailed Flaherty Tree Service to see if they could patch it up and they said no worries, they would handle it. After repeatedly being told it would be fixed, it is now October and still has not been repaired. We have back and forth voicemails and texts from Flaherty Service advising they would take care of it. Finally, they stopped responding to our calls and voicemails after a month or so. So just be careful when hiring this company - be sure to check for any damages before paying them as we made this mistake and our sidewalk is still damaged. read more

Steve and his team did an amazing job removing a tree from our backyard. He came, quoted the job and removed the tree in 48 hours. The tree was slowly growing into out fence and he was able to remove the tree without disturbing the fence/yard. Once they were done, they cleaned up everything... Even including other debris that was not the result of their removal! Would recommend in a heart beat. read more

We had a huge white pine in our backyard in close proximity the house. Rather than deal with cutting it back every year, we decided to take it down. I had a number of estimates done; in addition to having the best price, Steve also was quick to respond to my inquiry, which speaks to the customer service here. The job itself was an all day gig, but the guys did great work. Cut, shredded, and cleaned up well after. The only snag with me was that the stump (which could not be ground due to location) was still a few feet off the ground. I would have liked it to been taken down closer to the ground. However, I also didn't press the issue - if I did, I believe that they would have accommodated my request. I would surely recommend Flaherty to anyone. read more
