This was my second time going there to get their chicken. I asked for waffles. They didn't have waffles. I asked for hot sauce. They did not have it. I wanted five wings sauced, and the other non-sauce. They told me they only had mild. So I asked them to go ahead and sauce, them in mild. Why did them people sauce, my wings in ketchup the most disgusting thing I've ever had then you try to call them. They don't pick up the phone very unprofessional environment. Being from Chicago I get cravings for certain foods I grew up on and Harold's Chicken is one of them. I recently had a craving for some Harold's chicken wings with mild sauce, so I decided to give them another try for dinner. It was a Friday night and it was the best dinner decision I was happy I made. I placed an online order of six wings with mild sauce on everything (wings and fries) and no coleslaw. I also ordered the small chicken livers with the sauce only on the fries with no coleslaw. The chicken wings were a perfect size, not tiny and not jumbo. Right in-between. Meaty and tender yet crispy batter on the outside. They were cooked just right and so were the fries. The oil that the food was cooked in was fresh and I could tell by the color and taste of the food. It was so delicious that it took me back down memory lane of when I lived in Chicago having Harold's Chicken with my family. The chicken livers were good, but were a little on the salty side. First off all... The customer service is beyond awful! We went at opening hours..11am. We said good morning, the guy didn't speak back just said what's your order? I overlooked it because...grace. I gave my 1st selection and was about to give second and he said what sauce, really low, so because I didn't hear him I said my next order. He repeated what sauce again... just staring at me. So I told him I couldn't hear him and that's joy 1st time ordering. He had no common courtesy or decency, let alone basic customer service skills. The staff was friendly, and you know that your food is made fresh. I felt the meal that I got, which was a shrimp and wing combo shrimp had absolutely no flavor. They were just simply fried and my chicken was also lacking in flavor even putting in the hot sauce or the other sauce, may have been some type of mild sauce because it had almost a sweet flavor to. Ive lived in the South & visited Harolds multiple times in Memphis. Its nothing short of amazing... the Harolds in South Phx is cool but the customer service needs growth. Trying to support local small businesses in our community is hard when your customer service is bare minimum no engagement of greeting as in welcoming your customers in. The first thing you say to your customer is cash or card before we order any food. Today I ordered catfish and shrimp with fries and coleslaw, also a shrimp basket with fries and coleslaw. The portioning for coleslaw and the amount of fries for 13$ a bit over priced. Let alone your employees in the kitchen or whoever bags forgets the sauces & condiments we have to pay extra for an not even get is pretty upsetting living out the way to come and spend money for poor service at the end of the day. When you walk in, you smell it: you are home. The fridge stocks grape Fanta. (It's pop.) There's even a genuine Iltaco pizza puff on the menu. Got the half mix with mild and hot sauce on it.
