It was a big job with initially 3 decks to be removed and replaced. Tom recommended we do stamped concrete rather than decking and referred us to someone else for that work. It's a good sign when a construction company says, "Your best solution is not something we do - see someone else for that part of the job." We followed his advice with great results. Peranich and Shelp tore off our existing pressure treated wood decks that were rotting. They replaced them with Trex composite decks that they helped us design every step of the way. They were lovely to work with always communicating about when they would be at our house and any time there were unavoidable delays they kept us up to the minute. The carpenters were polite and tidy. We are extremely pleased with their work and with customer service. We would use them again and highly recommend them.

Jeremy Sager (owner) said that there was nothing wrong with it at first, but after a heated discussion, he said that it was our fault because the roof rafters at that location were sagging and it would cost us another $5,000. to remedy the problem. My question to him was, if they knew the roof rafters were sagging, then why not tell us before they covered them up. The whole experience with Jeremy Sager was very unsettling and his behavior was that of a very spoiled and undisciplined Child. There must be some personal beef? I hired Fair Trade Carpentry to do work for me earlier this year. They were polite (in person and on the phone), punctual and professional. They did everything I asked and then some and the standard of work was exceptional. The owner certainly takes a personal pride in the work he does and I couldn't be happier with the results. I have recommended him to all my friends who may need future work done. I'm not sure which part 'jeremy p' found confusing but when I hired Fair Trade Carpentry, the bid I received stated quite clearly at the bottom that work would not commence until I had signed and returned it. I've noticed lately that Fair Trade Carpentry now has a website which has a 'testimonials' page. There are numerous residential and commercial clients besides myself, who have sent in their testimonials...I think reading these would give a slightly more balanced view. I say this because I also noticed that jeremy p blogged about another construction company and whined about how they never returned his calls and must not want his business. If the same thing keeps happening to this guy then maybe he's the problem, not the companies he's contacting.
