I truly rest easy and don't worry, she is very well taken care of, they have managed her medical conditions well, we've had fewer hospital trips and the aides and staff members really do care about the residents. They communicate with families about concerns or needs, I've had a great experience with the nursing staff. The facility is well-kept and clean, the rooms are spacious and functional. They have plenty of activities, and the residents all seem happy to be there. I visited many other facilities and I'm glad I chose Juniper Village.

Equipment is stored all over the crowded hallways and are trip hazards for the patients. The food is delivered cold besides being inedible. Beware of how they bill your loved ones. They will tell you that their stay is covered by Medicare and your insurance, then months later after your loved one leaves they start sending bills with no explanations. The administrator and accounting office will confuse you then take advantage of you. Find another facility for your loved ones.

When asked their names they refuse to identify themselves. As a patient don't I have the right to know who is treating me and who I am talking to? The ordered me a walker...I already had one at home....they ordered me a commode which I already had one at home....they ordered me a shower stool...which I already had one at home.....when I told them to cancel the orders they told me that it's too late and I have to take them. They told me that they ordered them without my knowledge because that's the way they do things..... There are many other rehab places....pass this one by.

She was given medication to help with the loss of my dad by the facility doctor. My sister came to see her and the meds made her completely lethargic. My sister asked the staff to watch her because of the condition she was in. The facilities coordinator explained to us that my mom did not want to go to bed so they decided to leave her in her wheelchair unattended. My mom fell out of her wheelchair and was taken to Hackensack hospital. She suffered a broken nose , lacerations,and a severe concussion. One month later she has still not recovered, she lost the ability to swallow and was given a feeding tube, My moms doctor believes she may have lost the desire to live due to depression and the condition she is in. The staff was warned about my mothers condition before the accident by my sister. Instead of placing her where she could of been watched they were negligent by leaving her alone in the hallway. This accident could of been avoided if Emeritus cared enough to use professional judgement regarding my mom and her condition. What makes us even more upset about Emeritus is my mom has been hospitalized since and is currently in a rehab facility for the past month without anyone calling from the facility to see how she is. When someone places their loved one in a facility you would expect them not to end up in worse condition. Please do not make the same mistake our family is going through.

Packages are clearly not her purview, even when they have been delivered and put in closet only she has access to, she says, "I don't have the package, it was put here.". She's a control freak who is often not at her desk or on the phone and expects you to wait for her convenience to address things or press the button to access Wellspring Village, despite the fact she and management go out of their way to assure you she has a cell phone and you can gain access even if she is not at the desk. Maybe I get that when going in since you can see her, but when trying to get out, how are you supposed to know if she is at her desk behind a closed door? Plus she is always complaining about something and commiserating with co-workers on how unfair others are to her. Nice lady but step out of her lines and you are toast. For what they charge, you should expect service not scolding.
