The ordered me a walker...I already had one at home....they ordered me a commode which I already had one at home....they ordered me a shower stool...which I already had one at home.....when I told them to cancel the orders they told me that it's too late and I have to take them. They told me that they ordered them without my knowledge because that's the way they do things..... There are many other rehab places....pass this one by.

I truly rest easy and don't worry, she is very well taken care of, they have managed her medical conditions well, we've had fewer hospital trips and the aides and staff members really do care about the residents. They communicate with families about concerns or needs, I've had a great experience with the nursing staff. The facility is well-kept and clean, the rooms are spacious and functional. They have plenty of activities, and the residents all seem happy to be there. I visited many other facilities and I'm glad I chose Juniper Village.

When we started our search for a nursing home for Dad, we knew we wanted somewhere in close…read moreproximity to Oradell, because most of us live there. Dad did not need a home that looked 'pretty or fancy'; for us it was about the quality of care he was going to receive. The Armenian Nursing and Rehabilitation Center was a place most of us passed on a regular basis because it was on the way to Shop Rite. It was recommended to us by one of our in-law's families whose parent was a resident at the time and had so many nice things to say about it. When we visited, we were impressed by the staff and had a good feel for the facilities. It was important to us that Dad received one-on-one care and we were offered a private room on the sub-acute wing. We checked Dad into his room and within a week they had moved him closer to the nurse's station so they could keep a closer eye on him. Dad was 88 at the time and suffering from dementia and physical limitations. Fortunately, he still knew who we were but needed assistance walking and getting dressed. Before moving Dad into the Armenian Home, he had attempted a few escapes at home. The staff made sure he was always wearing a monitor so they would be alerted if he left his chair or bed at any time. Over the 4 1/2 years that Dad lived at the Armenian Home our family would visit regularly. There are six of his kids, plus spouses, as well as grandkids and friends that would stop in at any time of day to visit or help feed him. We were always greeted by the staff at the front desk with smiles and friendly banter and the aides were all very friendly and accommodating. If we wanted to feed Dad, they would make sure that we had everything we needed, especially apple sauce, his favorite. You see, later in Dad's stay, it became more difficult to feed him and maintain a healthy weight. Fortunately, the staff members were aware of all his favorite foods and knew just how to get Dad to eat when we couldn't.....they have their tricks!! We cannot say enough about the overall care that the nursing staff gave Dad throughout his stay. We were always notified promptly if there was ever a concern about his health. Everything from a head cold, to a fever, to a reddish color on his big toe. In the 4 1/2 years that Dad was a resident at the Armenian Home, he never had to be taken to the hospital. They were always able to care for him and keep his health in check. The nursing staff was always there in case we had any questions or concerns. When we decided to bring Hospice in to help manage Dad's pain from his lack of mobility, the nursing staff worked closely with them and was in constant contact with us if there were any changes in Dad's condition. Never once did we doubt the quality of service Dad was receiving. During the last week of Dad's life, many of us were coming and going, spending hours just congregating in his room. The staff allowed us to spend as much time with Dad as we wished; even permitting overnight stays when we felt the end was nearing. We recall a staff member from the kitchen stopping by and asking us if we needed anything to eat or drink. The entire staff went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. We are so grateful to the Armenian Home and especially to the staff on Dad's floor for the care he received. From the aides to the nursing staff and all the doctors that monitored him, they all treated him with love and respect. We had total confidence and faith that Dad was in good hands, which gave us great comfort and peace of mind. I know they are busy. I was on the 2nd floor which I think they call sub acute. Majority of the people there are seniors and live there full time. So if your young like me it can be a little frustrating to deal with the full time residents who can be annoying at times with the noise. I just told my aid that my room mate is causing undue noise and it was handled. I'm an esmoker so I was hassled a little bit about smoking near the building so I just moved to the parking lot in my wheelchair. Food is rated 6 out of 10 in my opinion.

As my mom got stronger, Jim worked with us to change the hours to meet our needs. When my mom felt a stronger connection with one aid over another, he moved things around to give that aid more time. My…read morefather had been going back and forth to Atlas healthcare at Maywood, since January of this year and the care there has SIGNIFICANTLY DECLINED. At first we we happy how they took care of my dad but we soon realized the awful truth. On 6/5/23 at 10:20am my mother went to visit my dad to find him laying in bed unresponsive and his eyes rolled back. She called for help, the incompetent staff came in and stated my dad's oxygen saturation was 50%, and was only advised to be placed on oxygen and call 911 by my mother (who is not in the healthcare field). Another technician came in and said to me that, your father is "stable his oxygen saturation is now 70%." The staff needs to be reeducation on the appropriate values of vital signs, because that was clearly NOT stable. When the paramedics and EMS arrived, none of staff members were at the bedside explain the situation of my father, they were just sitting at the nurses station. The medical staff at Atlas, are unprofessional, clueless and show no compassion. No one is helpful and the facility is SO dirty. If you call the second floor nursing to find out how your loved one is doing, you should be expected to wait at least 30 minutes for the call to be disconnected. ALSO The old lady in the front is also rude and nasty, she should be fired. This rehab needs to be shut down and government funding needs to be revoked. Please do your research and find a different rehab/nursing home.

In the 8 and 1/2 months she was under the care of 2 North amazing staff led by Flavia, my mom DID thrive! She was so well cared for by the nursing staff and the aides. They were responsive, quick to update me and an absolute pleasure every time I came in. They take their residents' care very personally and as a result, it is above and beyond. The recreation staff made daily activities a joy, and my mom, who even in her dementia was very social, fun and feisty, participated in everything from games - both physical and cognitive - to karaoke and attending all the live Friday concerts. Emerson impressed us at every turn. From the efficient admin staff to wonderful Kelly in the salon, to the receptionists and attentive housekeeping staff, we were always greeted with a smile. It truly reflects their corporate culture, which is one of hospitality and excellence in care. Thank you for making the last chapter of her long and well-lived life, one to be remembered fondly.

My mom was recently at Emerson Rehab for about 5 weeks recovering from a dislocated hip…read more I found the facility to be very clean and the care by the physical therapists to be excellent. My mom particularly loved her aide, Ledy who could not do enough to make my mom comfortable. She went out of her way to go the extra mile and anticipate my mom's needs without having to be asked first. Being in rehab is not an easy adjustment but Ledy made the experience tolerable and provided superior care while maintaining the dignity of the patient. - She is really a gem! The main complaint I heard from my mom was regarding the food. Unfortunately, it often arrived at her room cold. She also received things that she did not request even after clearly marking the weekly menu to exclude those items. We did speak to the dietician who was very attentive and requested to eliminate a few things from the order each day but some of the items still were delivered each day and went back to the kitchen un-touched. It just seemed wasteful to provide food that wasn't going to be eaten each day.

It is scary to leave the care of a loved one in someone else's hands but, Arden Courts has proven to alleviate all of those fears. The staff is always ready and able to answer my questions and keep me posted on my cousin's condition. I was particularly impressed with their level of care during the pandemic. Not only did my cousin not contract COVID, but the COVID rate in general at the facility was extremely low to non-existent. I often speak to Kathy and/or Diane when I have questions or concerns and they could not be more helpful and patient. I also talk to the staff when I visit, and they are always friendly and keep me informed as to my cousin's ups and downs.
