My very medically complicated Mom has been a resident at Juniper Village Paramus for about a year and a half. I truly rest easy and don't worry, she is very well taken care of, they have managed her medical conditions well, we've had fewer hospital trips and the aides and staff members really do care about the residents. They communicate with families about concerns or needs, I've had a great experience with the nursing staff. The facility is well-kept and clean, the rooms are spacious and functional. They have plenty of activities, and the residents all seem happy to be there. I visited many other facilities and I'm glad I chose Juniper Village. read more

I continue to have a very positive experience at Juniper Paramus! The staff members care about their residents. I feel like I have developed a very good working relationship with the nursing staff who work hard to meet the needs of the residents. My mom has been there for almost 5 years and Juniper is a place where I have the opportunity to get to know the staff from the leadership level to the aides and the dining servers who have consistent interactions with her. This is the absolute worst place in the world they are understaffed and they do not care for your loved one. It is impossible to call at night and have anyone answer the phone. My mom has only been here 2 months and I will be taking her home because I have a camera in her room and she fell. I tried to call to have someone go get her and no one answered the phone. If your loved one does not go to sleep by 10 PM they take them to their room and leave them there alone. This is not the type of care I thought I was paying for. My aunt has been a resident in the Clare Bridge (memory care) section of Brookdale Paramus for the past 4 years. Overall we have been pleased with the care my aunt has received but disappointed with other aspects of the facility. Calendars of events were never followed, trips were promised and never happened, clothing and expensive Depends disappeared, these were all things that added unnecessary stress to our family. Now why I gave a 5 star review, Michele Martino Is now the Program Coordinator in Clare Bridge. Michele's love and caring for the residents and their families is evident. New programs are being implemented, wonderful trips are actually happening and today the residents and family were treated to a tea party. Thank you Michele for all you and your staff do for our loved ones. If you are considering Brookdale's Clare Bridge center for a loved one, I now give 5 stars. read more

OMG, yes AWEFUL place. Filthy but ha a nice book cover like appearance How many living location have NO Lighting fixtures? Is it a (BYOL) Bring Your Own? At the high costs associated they sure are ripping people off, IMHO. Visting a friend even we had another customer family member having to let us in just after supper. Maybe they do not pay staff well at all too. Oh BTW where is 24/7 Security? Using the w.c. ( bathroom I saw two cockroaches.. which means many more are close by nesting. ewwww disgusting! I was able to squish one at least so one less cocka-roach at Brookdale Parmus now.. The elevators seemed like from 1951..slow..slow.. or was it 1943?? No wonder why the location across Paramus Road is more occupied.. BOTTOM LINE______________________ Stay Away for this location!! STAY FAR AWAY!!! read more

I'm shocked to see anything but wonderful reviews about this establishment. My grandmother has spent the last few months at Brookdale Paramus in the Clare Bridge (memory care) section of their charming community. She previously was living with my uncle and lacked any type of social interaction with others her own age. Given that she suffered from dementia, the Clare Bridge community offered her activities and social interactions that she has thrived from and have given her a new sense of purpose. You can tell from the instant you walk in the door that is it a warm and caring environment. She is well taken care of by the staff who are friendly, welcoming and full of smiles. Rest easy that you and your family are in good hands at Brookdale Paramus! Thank you all for taking such phenomenal care of my loved one. read more

I have never had anything but a positive experience when visiting Brookdale Paramus. The community is very clean and the staff is wonderful.

I found Brookdale of Paramus NJ 4 years ago for my father. The community has been wonderful for him. Unlike most family members who come to the community infrequently, I am there 4 Days a week. Therefore, I have a good perspective as to the daily concerns and operations of the facility. The house keeping staff is excellent. They clean the rooms regularly and clean the carpet periodically. I've never seen any sightings of rodents, bugs or any other pest. Cain, the house keeping supervisor is attentive to the needs of the residents and does all that he can to make sure that the residents are comfortable and that the facility is clean. The nursing staff is great in every way as well. They have demonstrated that they genuinely care for the residents and that their safety is of the highest priority. I can honestly say that leadership team at Brookdale continues to do a great job by providing a place that is inviting, embracing and caring for our loved ones that need a place to call home. read more

Our Mom has been a resident at Brookdale Paramus for over four years. As a family, we visit regularly and are kept in touch with what is happening at the residence. I personally enjoy as the staff sees her they address her by name and give a smile. That tells me they know her and she is part of a community. There are events throughout the year which are well attended by the residence and their families. It is a comfortable place. If there are concerns, we address them quickly, our regular presence assures us of that. read more

My aunt has lived at Brookdale for a little less then 1 year. I was her only relative and had to make the decision on my own where she was going to live following a stay at rehab. I did my homework and visited several facilities in the Paramus area. Brookdale stood out by far. Brooke, their sales manager made the move in process seamless and made me feel so comfortable with a very difficult decision. My aunt took some time to acclimate (as most do) but was encouraged by the staff to participate in outings and programs at the community. I try to make it there to visit when I can but have no doubt she is well taken care of. My gratitude goes out to the caring staff and management at Brookdale. read more

I have been a frequent visitor to this facility for a very long time, my cousin has his father there. I have seen things change from good to I don't know what to call it now. Keep in mind I know everyone there very well, from management to staff, and trust me, the staff talks when they know you. So what I am about to say comes straight from the horse's mouth so to speak. When Naran Jalim was the ED there and Ellen Schauer and her assistant were there things were good. It was a place you wanted to be in. Then they all left and the new ED that came, Mark Feretti was a complete waste, he knew nothing except how to report the nurses to the nursing board, he had no assisted living experience and I personally heard Virginia complaining about her having to do his work for him, he was totally incompetent and was eventually fired for sexual harassment. But now here is the kicker, this facility is now under new management or been sold or something like that, so now finally there is somebody to check management. The staff was always complaining that the HR person, Virgina Orth knows nothing, if they asked her a question she always referred them to the handbook and her only mission there was to assist in firing the "little people". She should have been setting a good example for the staff, but as soon as a new person was hired she would talk badly about the rest of the staff to that new hire and about who she wants to fire. Well guess what? She was just fired, she was caught red handed, she removed all the write-ups from her friends' employee files and shredded them. Every write up her friends got over the years from the different Executive Directors disappeared. But the question is why are her friends - namely: Mary, Paul and Betsy - still there? They were all complicit in this plot. Mary is the activities person and my cousin complained everyday that Mary did nothing for the residents. The good thing about this place is that they still have a couple good nurses there who have been there for a long time, but people this is the type of management that has been ruling that place for a long time, no integrity. I hope this new management can clean up the mess. But I warn you to think twice about that place if you are looking for an assisted living for your loved one. read more

I would like to comment on this facility in the hopes to help others who are considering putting their loved ones here. The décor and presence of this building is very inviting and impressive. When you contact the facility they will tell you they are a Medicaid facility as long as you reach a 2 year spenddown with them. However, they neglect to tell you that they have no Medicaid beds available. After our loved one spent over 2 and a half years paying out of pocket living there, she was denied a bed when she filed her Medicaid application. On top of that, she was not offered a bed at any other facility they own. Also whoever signs the person in at the time they become a resident is responsible for the rent if they continue to stay past the point they can afford it themselves. Medicaid can take several months to be approved and while in the "pending" status most facilities will not accept you. I can't begin to tell you the stress and sadness this put on all the members of our family. Therefore, just a word to the wise, if you're looking for long term care for your loved one and don't want the hassles we went through I suggest you find out where you stand with bed availability and/or get an agreement in writing that promises you a bed when that time comes. As our loved ones age they become used to their surroundings and a move late in life can affect them terribly. I wish you the best of luck, think twice! read more
