There's not too many places in Austin with 5 public tennis courts in one area. I believe they open after school hours until dark on the weekdays and then all day on weekends. Usually 2 of the courts are held by the Austin league(?) on Saturday so it may be crowded. Courts 1-4 are in really good shape in terms of the net and court condition. Only courts 1-2 have a back to hit against and there's not enough benches to sit if you want to say that's a con. Court 5's net is a little raggedy but still better than some of the other public courts out there. Plus it's by itself so you don't have to worry about hitting your ball into another court The track is just a regular old track but it's in great condition and the paint is very visible. There's always people running/walking on the track and sometimes people play soccer or football in the lawn in the middle. Great place to do a little recreational sports and if you get hungry, you can always walk to the Dart Bowl Cafe across the street!

I especially find this funny since our school district is rated "Recognized." My son's go to "Recognized" and "Exemplary" schools and are receiving a top-notch education that will prepare them for the rigors of college and life beyond. Obviously education is valued here. My oldest son started his education at a private school in Austin. At the time it seemed the best option for him but when the price of gas started rising in 2009 we put him in our local elementary school. That was the best thing we could have done for him. The lessons came to life and he has had more enrichment than he ever had at that private school. As a result he has blossomed from an average student to an honor roll student. I am grateful that my youngest son will reap the benefits of this outstanding school district from the get-go. Of course the budget cuts are a concern but I feel certain that the adminstration will find a way to maintain the high level of excellence that puts children first.

I had some issues with policies and procedures but through conversations with supervisors, principles and higher ups helped me understand why things were the way they were. After all PFISD is all about education and the children. The worst question is the one not asked. So, if you have any issues or complaints, dont just go off on these people. Ask questions and I guarantee you will see the light. I will miss everyone i met and worked with and i learned so much from everyone. I have had good experiences with the teachers and director. They are very positive while also promoting discipline through work, and it is amazing to see what the kids can do and how well they get along. Would recommend very highly based on my experience.
