We had an urgent need as we came home with our baby and were not prepared for our dog's reaction. She helped us slowly build out boundaries and supports that enabled us to all calm down and figure out how to introduce our baby to our pup in a safe and smart way. She had a lot of great resources, and really started from the bottom, which we needed, in terms of training and provided simple, clear strategies to start to try to change the way our dog reacted to stress and triggers in different contexts. She really tried to understand what was motivating our pup and was open to talking it through and rethinking those ideas based on our input. Kim is amazing! She's patient, really gets dogs, and helped us immensely with our cute rescue pup -- Pepé with the big chihuahua attitude. Lol We're first time dog owners and rescued our sweet & spunky Pepé in Jan 2023 (and quickly realized we were in over our heads). Pepé came to us via multiple shelters/rescues from Texas to Brooklyn. At one year old, he had been attacked by another dog at 5 months and shuffled around through multiple locations. He would bite my partner, lunge at dogs and people on walks. We would brace ourselves for walks bc we would have to shuffle past people or walk random routes out of the way to avoid dogs/people (pretty impossible in Williamsburg). Kim helped us through it all! She took things at Pepé's pace. Explained how to read his body language and how to slowly work through his fears. We knew we could text her any time or day and she'd help us work through it. After a couple sessions, we saw an immediate change. Pepé now goes on walks happily, hasn't bitten us, doesn't lunge, we can even have friends over and he's completely opened up and is playful. We are so grateful to have found Kim! We had recently adopted a street dog who was having a hard time adjusting. Our dog Kobe could not properly Walk on a leash, would cry and howl when left alone, would guard and destroy the couch,and didn't love being pet.
