When they attempted to unlatch the door the latch came right off. The home owner and selling agent both attempted to contact Justin and each received a reply that the door was not broken during the home inspection and refused to pay for the door to be fixed. The door was in fact broken as due to the inspection but paid for by JJ Home Services, LLC.

I am on the seller's side of the inspection. The buyer's inspection was scheduled for Wednesday,…read moreMay 4th. I came home that afternoon to a radon test in my basement with no indication as to how long the test would be in my home, just a note stating that the windows would need to remain closed and the a/c couldn't be turned on. And that if I touched it I would be charged $155 (which they could tell from sensors on the test apparently) and the test would be delayed. I asked my realtor to find out how long the test would take and was told it would be picked up on Friday, May 6th. At that point it was not a concern at all. I came home after work on Friday only to find that the detector had not yet been picked up. Friday was an extremely hot day and I was unable to find any relief to the heat (nor were my children or my cat). Saturday I contacted my realtor and after it took quite a while for anyone to track down the inspector, was told that it would be picked up on Sunday. An appointment was made for Sunday afternoon between 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm. By 7:00 pm he still had not shown up and my house was 80 degrees. Since it was Mother's Day, I did not want to disturb my realtor so I called the number that was left on the inspector's business card and the voicemail did not even belong to the inspector but to someone else. I'm guessing it was an office general box, but the business card is not set up to be read that way. By that point I was livid. Not only was I unable to open my windows, it was already 2 days after when the inspection results were due from the buyer. I called my realtor and the buyer's realtor ended up contacting him and I received approval to open my windows. The detector was finally picked up on Monday, May 9th. I was so disgusted by the lack of professionalism on the part of the inspector. He had zero respect for the inconvenience he placed upon my family. Not to mention the extreme lack of customer service shown to his client, the buyer. It seems to me that he just simply didn't care enough and didn't get around to picking it up on Friday, went away for the weekend (it was also the fishing opener weekend) and then decided to spend Mother's Day with either his own mother or his wife with no regard to the discomfort we were being left with. Although I am on the other side and wasn't the one hiring this inspection company, I would say don't waste your time with them.

Upon recommendation from my realtor I hired Rich Berg to perform the pre-buy inspection on a house…read moreI was purchasing. All seemed to go well. Shortly after moving into the home I became aware of a problem that was to cost my $1000.00 to repair. As I thought that this situation should have been covered in the inspection I contacted Rich Berg by phone. The problem with the house became the least of concerns at that moment. Rich met my inquiry with a hostile defensiveness that nearly knocked me off my feet! I was dumb founded by the abrupt, controlling and rude response I got from Rich Berg. He talked "at me", loud and pushy, not allowing me the space to discuss the concern. More concerning than the actual issue with the house was Rich Bergs response to an inquiry concerning the inspection. He was strongly defensive from the start and only got worse as I tried to converse with him. Given Rich Bergs lack of professional follow thru and concern for his clients after he has taken their money I could NEVER recommend him or his services to another person. As an add on, shortly after moving into the home my spouse and myself were testing the hard wire smoke/fire detectors. We were horrified to find that the one on the upper floor was not even connected. The detectors were mentioned in the report....but certainly no mention of them not being connected.....obviously they were not tested during the inspection.

The report was great and detailed, they even spent time with me to review every item. Their pricing is competitive and fair, and I feel like I got a ton of value in the report. We would not recommend them to anyone. During our inspection, they: -Missed the secondary sewer access line which necessitated re-inspection from another provider and a delay with the seller, who immediately found the secondary access. X2 later refunded the original sewer inspection fee. -Frequently said "I think I'm forgetting something" while walking us through the house and was just relying on memory - didn't have any notes to reference -Could not answer many of our basic questions about things like the HVAC; referred us to the current homeowners ("you should ask them how it works") -Could not tell us anything about the internal brick wall (i.e., any indication of whether it was load bearing) -Put us on spam email lists, like s24alarms, without asking permission -Handed us a big pack of sponsored spammy advertisements at the end of the inspection. I paid thousands of dollars for this inspection, it should come ad-free. -The inspection report was dense with generic drivel - it was clearly mostly automatically generated, and I had to sift through it to find useful insight We used a different inspector on our previous house and their service was in every way superior to X2.
