Harmony Glassworks - Artist Owned Gallery

Located in the tiny town of Harmony, California (population 18), just off Hwy 1, is the home of Harmony Glassworks. The gallery/studio showcases a large selection of all types of glass art for sale, from jewelry to vases, from candies to large sculptures, and everything in between. The selection is extensive in all price ranges. The glass artworks are worth the visit just to admire the talents of the mostly local artisans. There is a production area/working studio area to view artists at work. Harmony Glassworks also offers one on one on-site instruction for those ages 12 & up, to create a glass vase or bowl. Contact the studio by phone or book on-line for this educational & fun personal experience. The staff is very friendly and helpful with any questions one might have.

The Harmony Glass Works is in Harmony, an easily overlooked stop off Hwy 1, just before Cambria. Well worth the stop. The Glass Works offers all sorts of hand blown glass objects, from tumblers to flowers. All the objects are lovely and crafted in the shop. The artisans work at furnaces walled off from the retail store, but easily in view of shoppers. See your gift being blown! Prices are a bit high for our mass production world, but reasonable for hand crafted artwork!

I been to this place several times over the years. But this time I came for glass blowing lessons with my kids. The three of us each did our own lessons and the process for booking the lessons was very easy. I spoke and worked with Eric, Colton, and Nate(artist/instructor), they were phenomenal very professional, helpful, and great to work with. My kid and I had a blast, it's amazing to create something so unique and beautiful that is truly inspiring by one's creative mind and see the end result once it was ready. Nate instructed us individually as we each had our lesson, explaining safety, how the process and all the steps that go into creating a piece. We will definitely be returning and sharing with everyone, because this is truly a lost art, like so many others. Thank you to everyone at Harmony Glassworks for an incredible experience that we won't forget.

Extensive supply of all things glass. From rings to yard art, you can spend an hour admiring all the artistic designs. We bought a great rainbow wind spinner, and wanted more, but restrained ourselves. You can watch them blow the glass, located in a serene setting. Pleasant service, okay prices.

This was a great experience! I learned a ton, and Nate did an amazing job of walking us through the process. I could write a very long winded eloquently craft essay on this lovely portion of a recent trip to California. If you're anywhere San Luis Obispo, make your way to Harmony it's a cool place to check out.

Cute little shop where you can watch the glassblower at work. Book ahead for glass blowing lessons. This town also has a pottery shop which sells amazing home made soaps and an ice cream truck. Get here early because the truck closes at 4. You can also book weddings, bar mitzvahs, quicineras and graduation parties at their outdoor gazebo. Fun stop after Hearst Castle or Cambria

I'm not going to lie, this is tucked away in a tiny town of only 18. I thought it might give me flashbacks and nightmares about my childhood growing up in a tiny town. But nope! This was the PERFECT place I came up here and stocked up on tons of wine from all the wineries up here and came across all these beautiful wine toppers. I hope none of my BFFs see this, because they will literally know their upcoming birthday and Christmas gifts. This place is awesome, they have an open area where you can watch the glass pieces be blown and they even have lessons where you can make your own (I don't know any of the details such as prices and what you get to learn / make) so I'd definitely call them ahead of your visit to plan accordingly. They have everything from ornaments, paperweights, yard decorations, glass pens, little glass animal figurines, vases, jewelry, marbles, beads and etc The customer service was beyond outstanding. I was so nervous coming into a place like this with my dog (she's in a stroller) but they were so dog friendly and amazing. Normally when I go to galleries and places like this in Laguna beach the place can be so stuffy and the people can be so rude. If you are ever in this area I highly recommend stopping by! They even have a little discount area attached to the side of the building. Some items were 25 dollars instead of 75. But then there was even bigger pieces such as vases and lamp bases that were 75 dollars but normally in the high hundreds. I actually came here today, got 5 miles down the road and decided to turn around to get a couple things to send to my dad

Nate is not only a very gifted artisan he is a good teacher as well. He explained everything before we started then went over it again as we worked on my piece. This is something I've wanted to do for years and I couldn't be happier with the experience or my finished piece.

I had the pleasure of attending private lessons this weekend, taught by Nate, and it was truly an amazing experience. Nate is not only kind and patient, but he also takes the time to explain everything thoroughly, making the learning process both fun and enjoyable. My son, who is typically quite shy, felt completely at ease thanks to Nate's gentle and welcoming approach. Over the course of the two-hour class, my son created two beautiful pieces, and I can't wait to see the final product. We're already excited to return! I highly recommend Harmony Glassworks to everyone--especially since they welcome children as young as 7! Worth the price!

Driving up the coast on Hwy 1 you'll find a small little town, population 18, named Harmony. Not a big town, basically a cul-de-sac and a magnificent winery. That being said, you must stop in to the Harmony Glassworks building! Here you will find amazing glass blown trinkets, ornaments, bowls, glasses, jewelry, and a wide arrangement of other gorgeous items for your home or gifts. While you are shopping, you can watch the glassblower doing his fascinating magic. I've been a handful of times and every single time he has been there working on pieces. So interesting and fun to watch. The shop can be found on the end of "downtown" to the left, you really can't miss it. Parking is along the street but still a short walk to any destination in Harmony. Prices are as expected for unique pieces. Ranging from $15 to hundreds. During non-Covid times they also offer lessons! Check their website, I'm sure once that is up and running again you'll be able to find out what to do. I never miss an opportunity to stop in and browse around and check out what the glassblower is up to. CHEERS!!

Took a private glassblowing class and it's quite an experience ! You really get to understand how much work goes into creating these pieces. Nate, the master glass blower talked me through the process from beginning to end. I want to go back and make a vase to go with my bowl. Worth every penny. I also picked up a few items in their lovely shop.

The Harmony Glassworks has been in place for a long time. We were in Harmony and just shopping yesterday. What a selection of work. From marbles, to bowls to sinks to figurines, to earrings, to cups, to big works of art and more there is that special gift for someone waiting for you! We were pleased with the big inventory and this place is on our list for real specialty gifts. I understand they have classes in glassblowing, however I was unable to speak to anyone. They were busy and it was late in the day. read more

This was a recommended place by a coworker. We stopped by after our Paso Robles trip. This shop is situated in the tiny town of Harmony, CA. It is inhabited by a whopping 18 people, and is part of the reason it attracts visitors. We really liked the arts displayed as well as the fact that you can see them work on new glass projects. It is an awesome process with a ton of technique involved. As far as prices...? Very hefty, but you can always opt for smaller items for memorabilia of your visit. They have these glass spheres that fit in the palm of your hand with an awesome dimensional effect: the design in the sphere seems to cave in, appearing as if though it goes through your hand. We saw those at the cashier counter.The Pottery works shop is right across from this shop, so be sure to check out both! I recommend the visit, if only just for a visual treat. read more

Love visiting the little town of Harmony every time we go to our annual Cambria trip! We love checking out what's new or what's going on at this little town off of Hwy 1. This glass blowing shop is one of our kids' favorite place in Harmony. They like watching live glass blowing and looking at the different amusing glass products and glass art they are selling. Kiddos always leave with a little knick-knack from this store when we go! read more

I brought my sister and mother, who live out of state for glass blowing lessons. Nate was very patient and very attentive to each of their needs and they both really enjoy their one on one lesson. When we came the next day to pick up the bowls, there was another artist working on a wave and he let us watch and answered our questions. He showed us what he was doing and how it was done. So fascinating and fun! I would highly recommend to anyone looking for something unique and fun to do and you get to make your own souvenir! read more

We were driving back from Hearst Castle on 3/1 and decided to stop in. We arrived at 9AM opening time to find the place closed. At ten after 9 a young kid drove into the back and opened up. When we walked in he just ignored us. We asked him a couple of questions and he couldn't have been more rude. We walked out, cash in hand and drove to Morro Bay to spend our money. Appeared that Harmony Glassworks didn't need the business. read more

Both my husband and I had a lesson. I choose a vase and my husband a bowl. You get to pick the shape and the colors. Nate was extremely patient and very informative. I would urge you to try a lesson, you'll end up with something that is unique and beautiful. We opted to have our precious pieces shipped home instead of us carrying them home on the train. Everyone who worked there was very friendly and polite There are all kinds of pretty things to purchase. Thank you all! read more

We really like this store. Have been here 2X and go out of our way to get here. Very interesting assortment of glass objects to include jewelry, vases, magnets.....you name it, they have it. Some very unique designs made by local artists. Reasonably priced. read more

This is a must for locals and tourists alike! A visit to the tiny town of Harmony is made perfect with a venture into the glassworks where you can see the craftsmen at work while standing in the gallery. It is so fun! My husband took me glassblowing here for my 50th birthday. What an amazing experience! Nate was a great instructor giving very clear direction. He took the time to ask us how we wanted our piece to turn out and explained the process as we went along. This is truly an art and Nate is very talented. I had been wanting to take a glass-blowing lesson for a while, so my family and I scheduled a lesson at Harmony Glassworks. First of all, what a cute little town! Second, what a beautiful shop Harmony Glassworks is, with everything from marbles and glass vases to glass figures/statues and beautiful glass sink bowls! There is truly something for everyone! Nate was my teacher during my ~1-hour lesson, and what a patient, knowledgeable, skilled teacher and artist he is! I was able to choose whether I wanted to make a vase or a bowl (I chose vase) and what color I wanted to make it (I chose blue). When you watch the artists making beautiful glass pieces in the shop, they make it look very easy, but it is not! It is a delicate, multi-step process, but it is very fun and rewarding! Nate made sure that even though I had never done anything like glass-blowing before, I was still able to make a beautiful vase that I now have displayed on my bookshelf. I definitely want to go back and try making a bowl the next time!! read more

My best friend and I did 2 classes back to back and Nate had his heart in our projects and learning the whole time. He worked hard to teach and guide us and the results were 2 absolutely beautiful bowls plus new knowledge and learning. The charming town of Harmony, the dedication to the arts and learning the craft, plus the lovely folks everywhere in town made for an unforgettable experience. Whether just visiting to look at beautiful glass of many genres, shopping, or being a glass working student, you will not be disappointed. Just lovely! I bought my wife a birthday present - a glass blowing class. Her experience was awesome. The cordiality and teaching of her coach, Nate, was inspiring to me. She chose to make a vase and Nate guided and encouraged her all the way through. It was such a warm experience -(no pun intended!) but the oven is 1200 degrees!! Anyway, take an hour, make a memory and leave with your molten glass blown creation. Thanks, Nate!! read more

This was an incredible experience from start to finish! I was greeted enthusiastically, and staff answered questions about colors and potential designs while I waited for my lesson. Nate was an excellent teacher, with detailed instruction and excellent guidance. The glassblowing lesson was exactly how I had hoped, if not better, and my end result is a gorgeous vase. I would highly recommend anyone passing through stop and check out the tiny town of Harmony, and definitely take a lesson!! read more

Yes a town of 18 people! --don't believe me look it up-_I am correct. I love the glass works where you can watch someone actually making vases, paperweights, dishes and other things. Hand blown glass comes alive as you watch the artist at work. If you are adventurous or not, you can take a class. I decided instead to just buy a piece of artwork, a flower had blown out of glass. Don't forget to check out the deals in the bargain bin area! read more

Boasting a population of 18 (9 people & 9 cows), Harmony Glassworks offers a one-of-a-kind experience in contemporary glass art. Founded in 2007 by glassblower and instructor, Eric Dandurand, Harmony Glassworks is an art gallery, studio, and school all in one.

I imagine my works as being in families for generations, as being initiators of conversations and as being sources of joy for their guardians. I am proud to be a glassblower. I admire both the creative and technical aspects of glass. It is a fascinating medium that enables me to go into that no-time zone and flow.

I was drawn to a nice selection of metal prints by the artist Arunas Zilys. The one I really liked I did not purchase, and I have since regretted that decision until today. I called the shop and spoke with Kassady, who was super helpful. I was able to purchase the piece I liked (thankfully they still had it) and arrange for it to be shipped. If you find yourself in downtown Cambria and like art, don't miss this place. They have a great selection, a beautiful gallery and knowledgeable and helpful staff. Five stars. p.s. - my order arrived the next day in perfect condition, very well packaged.

She chatted with the patrons during the lively demonstration, as she made the prints come to life. The wall behind her was filled with colorful interpretations of her view of the natural world. The display of the art is thoughtful, and work by the each artist is displayed together. There is also a variety of colorful scarves, tablecloths, and textile handbags available to brighten up any room. I also responded to the intensely colored prints and ceramics which graced the walls. The art glass animals shimmered in the afternoon light, inviting me to take one home, where it could become part of my menagerie. We will return to enjoy this display again!

I recently purchased five glass ordaments online and through the assistance of Jamie. I just have to say that the entire experience of purchasing the ordaments' was incredible. It feels kind of odd to say that a 'buying experience was incredible,' but it was. When I visited your store a few months ago, I was blown ago by the collection of great craftmenship and unique artistic glassworks. Most importantly, I want to give props to Jamie, who assisted me in my purchase order. He followed up with me in a timely fashion, sent me pictures of the inventory, and offered to send me additional photos of specific ordaments. He helped me recieve exactly what I wanted. Through our conversation, he explained some of the different glass blowing techniques used to make some of the ordaments, which was pretty cool. Jamie is very passionate about what he does and it really showed through our contact between one another. Just an overall great experience!
