City has invested in this park- tore down the old one and built a brand new one with lots of accessible features, astroturf, and picnic tables under a shaded area. Right now it is nice, but I'm wondering how it will feel in the summer. There's also not much for babies or toddlers. They can play on this playground, but it was built with bigger kids in mind.
There are port-a-potties for a bathroom, which doesn't make much sense to me because the little baseball field has bathrooms. Why can those not be unlocked during the day?
There is also a sad little skate park on the side (especially compared to the new playground), but I think there are plans to revamp that in the future, and I've heard rumors of possibly adding a splash pad.
Overall, it's a good playground! It's right next to the downtown area and the city is investing in it, which is good to see. I'm excited to see what happens in the future and as upset as my kids were that "the castle park" was torn down (my daughter was particularly salty), they have really enjoyed playing at the new and improved one. read more
