After 18 months and multiple consultations with different surgeons I met Dr. Kuy. My initial consultation with Dr. Kuy and his patient coordinator, Aimee, was so informative and thorough, and I immediately felt comfortable with them. That says a lot after spending that much time researching and meeting with other surgeons.
I actually scheduled my surgery that day because I felt so confident in Dr. Kuy and his team. Aimee was wonderful, she set clear expectations for what would happen next, when I would be contacted, and how I should prepare.
Ellyn, the nurse handling my pre-op care, was equally fantastic. She contacted me exactly when promised, provided precise instructions for my pre-op testing and medications, and followed up again before surgery to make sure I understood everything and was prepared. The organization and communication throughout the process were outstanding.
The morning of surgery, I was nervous, but Wendie, the scrub tech, and Ellyn immediately put me at ease. They were kind, reassuring, and made what could have been an intimidating morning feel comfortable. Dr. Kuy came in to do my markings and answer any last-minute questions. He is incredibly kind, calm, and reassuring and has such an easy manner that makes you feel completely comfortable in his care. The entire team was also very kind and inclusive with my husband, which meant a lot to both of us.
The recovery experience has been equally amazing. Ashleigh was wonderful, and I woke up with no nausea or complications. Dr. Kuy checked on me again before I went home and personally called me that afternoon to see how I was doing. That personal follow-up really stood out to me.
I am now about 10 days post-op and have had little to no pain throughout my recovery. The staff has continued to be incredibly responsive to the few questions I've had, and I have always felt supported and well cared for.
And then there are the results.
They have far exceeded my expectations.
I was told so many times during this process to have realistic expectations, so I mentally prepared myself for good, but not necessarily great. Well, they are amazing. 10/10. I am so happy that Dr. Kuy was able to achieve the results he did. They look beautiful, natural, and so much better than I ever expected. They are healing remarkably well, and I could not be happier.
I know I am still early in the healing process, but I already feel incredibly confident that I made the right decision and chose the right surgeon. I cannot wait for my follow-up appointment, and I am secretly hoping my results are good enough that Dr. Kuy will want to use my before-and-after photos on his website!
Dr. Kuy's surgical skill is exceptional, but what really made this experience stand out was the entire team. From Aimee's first consultation and Ellyn's meticulous pre-op care, to Wendie and the surgical team on the morning of surgery, to Ashleigh's care during recovery, I felt supported every step of the way.
