Need to update their info. Answer their phone. Needed to transfer a title. Could not get in contact with them.

If you're going to advertise being open at 9a, then you should be there at 9a. Place is pitch black, unkept, no answer when you call. Completely unacceptable. Absolute waste of time and I'm furious after working overnight. read more

I'm in my 50s and I have never, EVER, encountered a business with employees more rude, incompetent, and lack of customer service than this sham of a business. The screwed up the title forms for a boat and trailer, submitted the wrong fees and lost the original title. We had to beg the previous owner to get a duplicate title issued and re-submit all the forms and fees ourselves. We've been trying to fix their incompetence for 8 months. They are never there when the hours suggest, the place is a pig sty, they are rude, they blame the customer and they don't return phone calls and messages. Do NOT have these people even so much as apply for a dog license for you. Go somewhere else unless you like misery and being treated poorly. The actual rating for this clown car is -10. The WORST !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! These people should be ashamed of their performance and behavior. read more

Updated as I was left a note that customers are taken in the order that the computer informs them to: Please note that this was not the issue. Issue one was that an employee was handling personal phone business. Issue two...an elderly couple coming in, looking for help and being met with a rude employee. I spoke up at one point because it was clear that they weren't understanding what they needed to do because it wasn't being explained. Final issue...making me wait because an employee is handling personal business while at work. A brother, cousin, relative of some kind came in talking with the employee about another relative's car title...an extension of the personal phone call. Personal business should be handled in personal time. As a supervisor in my agency, this is something that would be unacceptable from one of my employees. I haven't been here for more than 5 minutes and am writing this review...which should tell you something. Upon walking in, the employee was on a personal phone call while shoving snacks in her face. I had to wait for her to stop chewing before she could address me. She then told me I needed t wait and that she would be with me in a minute. This was fine since i arrived early for my appointment. She finished up her personal business and seemed to be preparing to meet with me when another customer came in. She took care of this individual's needs as I continued to sit. They have a fish tank that I pray houses no fish, considering that it is green and hasn't been cleaned in God knows how long. It smells in here because of it. CROOKS! I have never been treated so poorly in my life! Harmar Notary completely screwed up my trailer registration. It took me 6 months to fix it. They altered the forms sent to PennDOT and over charged me. When I brought the retuned paperwork from PennDOT back for them to correct the owner flipped out and started screaming and swearing at me. They lied and never resubmitted my registration to PennDOT. Thank god I made copies of everything. There should be a zero star option. read more

Today, 2/9/2023, I called Harmar Notary inquiring about the 24/7 full traveling notary that is listed on the website. And there is NOTHING on the website that states they only do this or only do that. So, to my surprise, when I asked about the 24/7 notary (per their website--Services offered states 24 HOUR NOTARY SERVICES AVAILABLE BY APPOINTMENT or TRAVELING NOTARY SERVICES AVAILABLE BY APPOINTMENT) and I inquired if this service was available on this Friday at 8pm for I was purchasing a tractor that is 75 miles away and being towed to my farm in Harmar for a selling price over $30K from a private seller. A very, very RUDE elderly man who took my call, said he has never had a customer ask this request before esp for a $10 notary. (Even though I was willing to pay for the $100 24hr traveling fee to come to their store in Cheswick) ... He said Harman Notary only has 24 hr service for Nursing homes (but again, that is not stated anywhere on their website) ... PLUS I had to listen to him go off on me that this a family run store and their time after 5pm is for family and not work. Took everything for me to say....then quit false advertising that you offer a 24/7 notary services then.... but I couldn't get a word in for all he did was bitch about how I had the nerve to ask one of their employees to leave their home on Friday evening to give me a $10 notary bill of sale...But here's the kicker.... after his ranting, he then had the nerve to hang up on me, and while proceeding to hang up, he said, I won't do it and verbally said, "Unbelievable" in a disgusting tone. Talk about being UNPROFESSIONAL!! Not sure why I deserved this man's rudeness...but I would NOT recommend Mister Rude....if anything it may be time you retire or get a new attitude for it took everything in me to hold back my tongue and be disrespectful to you since that is who you were to me! I am educated, raised correctly and a professional who is a nurse by trade and in my profession.... if you came into my business....I would NEVER treat or speak to you in the manner on how you spoke to me!! Bottom line is, I would NEVER recommend this facility to anyone ever again nor return for your business. All I have to say, then don't offer 24/7 service for a customer who is willing to pay the fee! After this fiasco, I wouldn't even consider dealing with a jerk like you! UNBELIEVABLE.... read more

They want $126 for a simple vehicle transfer as their notary fee. All other notaries are $56 or lower. I did one vehicle there and they completely ruined the whole transaction. Also to hear the owner using foul language the whole time was completely ridiculous. read more

Following in line with the other poor reviews this place is terrible. I don't even post reviews but since I've being waiting on hold with Penndot for over 45 minutes to try to fix what Harmar Notary screwed up here I go. I went there for a out of state title transfer. Started out just like other reviews. Took forever like other reviews. I caught a mistake on the new title paper just as I was leaving. They assured me it would be corrected. This is May 5th. Months pass and I never receive the new title. I call, Jeff proceeds to blame me. Yells screams the whole bit. He wants to charge me to submit for a duplicate. I say I'm not paying for something twice I never received. More yelling and screaming from Jeff. So I decided to go it alone and find out from Penndot if I never received the title I can submit for a replacement for free as long as it's within 90 days. I do just that and finally receive the title today on 8/13/21. And what do you know the error they assured would be corrected? You guessed it still there. Now I personally call Penndot and now have another form I have to submit to have the title error corrected. Save your life. Stay far away from this Notary! read more

Wish there was a way to enter no stars or negative stars. Processed a vehicle title transfer here a week or two ago, dealt with Linda she was very nice and professional. In the course of our transaction she made an error that resulted in me being over charged by $16. Not a huge deal and a very correctable issue. The refund never hit, again not a huge deal, what is a big deal is the incredibly poor way that my wife was treated by Jeff the "owner" of this business when she called to follow up on the refund. He was arrogant and rude to her and ended the call by hanging up on my wife. When I called to address this issue with him he hung up on me. So... I get it, Jeff clearly wants to put himself out of business. Who am I to stop him, please, please help Jeff to go out of business. Everyone who reads this review do two things for me: 1. Tell everyone you know, Jeff does not want your business and if you do choose to go here he will treat you like crap. 2. DON'T do any business here. Find another "legal office/notary public" to use. I do hope that Linda can find gainful employment, she deserves a boss who wants to grow his business not kill it. read more

I won't go back to this location!! The women taking my finger prints was beyond rude. She took people out of order. Took a smoke break when she had 6 people waiting! Was yelling and making smart comments while finger printing others. She stomped around like were inconveniencing her. There was also a fish tank that was so green it made the place smell- the poor fish inside were dying. She was also texting on her phone while taking finger prints, which made the process take longer. read more

Terrible business practice... I called to make an appointment and they said I didn't need one, when the seller and I arrived at 6:15 the door was locked but the lights were on. Since the sign said they were open till 7:00pm - we knocked on the door and called them on the phone... They turned the lights out on us while we were standing at the front door!! Who treats the local customer base like that? I even called prior to confirm arrangements... Go to Burrell Notary. They embraced our business and are open till 8:00pm. read more

If you're looking for a fun filled afternoon with a gentleman who wants to tell his entire life story in a depressing manner while incompetently doing his job then this is the place for you. Gets the job done but seriously your time may be better spent elsewhere. One hour twenty minutes to complete a title transfer. read more

I went for a simple trailer title transfer and registration. After paying a sky high $120 notary fee, I get a letter from PENNDOT that they forgot to include the county charges for my county. Sky high fees, poor service. Go elsewhere if at all possible. read more
