It's quite a painless procedure with oral anesthesia. Very high tech in my opinion. There was hardly any paperwork thank goodness saving some trees in the process. Very well equipped staff. I appreciate the fact that you receive text or email reminders of your appointments -- helps a ton when managing a busy schedule. The office is meticulously clean (as it should be) with the most advanced equipment I have ever seen in a dental office. In my experience, having a crown done can be hit or miss because most dentists have to take impressions off your teeth and send off to a lab to have the crown made which translates to more time and ill fitting crowns. Not so with this practice. I went in to see Dr. Garza (who is awesome, by the way) to have a crown replaced that I was having issues with for several years. This dental practice has a really cool 3D technology that allows them to make a crown the same day. However, instead of taking impressions of your teeth they use 3D digital imaging to take pictures of your mouth and make the perfect crown for you. Once they take pictures, they use CEREC 3D/CAD to mold the tooth. Aside from the cool tech, the office staff is super caring. Dr. Garza's bedside manner is amazing. In addition to my crown, I had 4 fillings replaced during my 3 hour visit. I was expecting to be in all kinds of pain for several days. I was pretty much back to normal the next day. All in all, great service, attentive and caring staff, latest technology and family friendly. If I could give Dr. Garza and Bulverde Dentistry 6 Stars, I would.

When I scheduled my appointment, I specifically informed the office that I would need pediatric bite plates. I also reminded the hygienist when I arrived. Despite this, the hygienist told me they didn't have pediatric plates because they "don't see children," and said we would "work together to get the x-rays done." Unfortunately, this meant repeatedly trying to force the large adult bite plate into my mouth. I told her multiple times that it was painful, triggering my gag reflex, and that I simply could not tolerate it. Her response was, "We have to do this in order to take radiographs," without offering any alternative approach. I fully understand the importance of radiographs, but the way the situation was handled felt dismissive and unnecessarily abrasive. She did not attempt any other solutions, and her bedside manner left a lot to be desired. I had waited a long time for this appointment and arranged my entire day around it. I left extremely disappointed with the way I was treated and do not recommend this dental office.

I…read morerandomly woke up with bad tooth pain 2 weeks ago and immediately called my dentist, they got me in same day and i was referred out to Vaughn Endodontics since it is a recurring problem on a tooth I've already had a root canal on as well as a crown. I was told this office has newer and better technology to be able to see and get better images to make the call whether my actual tooth was salvageable with another root canal or if it would be best to extract. I called the office immediately leaving my dentist (still in excruciating pain!) and wasn't expecting them to be able to get me in at 9am the next morning. The front desk said they would need to work me in in between schedules which i had no problem with, i was so grateful they got me in so fast. I got put in a room pretty quickly for being an er case, i figured I'd be there all day. Chloe and Dr. Vaughan were so incredibly nice!!! Chloe and i chatted during my whole time there about books and it was like catching up with an old friend. Dr. V also keeps google on a great oldies station so we talked about the music too that was playing throughout the office. The kindness and friendliness was much appreciated to get my mind off this whole tooth ordeal. They explained the procedure and what was going to happen very thoroughly. They made sure i was comfortable the whole time with my pain and just made the whole visit a breeze. At the end i was given a pamphlet with information on what was done as well as after care and pain management and contact info. I was shocked to see that the doctors give out their personal numbers for emergencies but this turned out to be a blessing! A few days after the first procedure i was still in horrible pain so i reached out to Dr. V (it was a Friday and before a holiday weekend so i needed to try to figure something out with that pain) he was very nice about it and did not make me feel like a bother. He was able to prescribe me a stronger antibiotic and within hours i picked up from the pharmacy and by the next afternoon i could tell a huge difference. I went back today for the root canal itself and it was just as great of a visit. It was painless, i got to chat with another sweet assistant the whole time and it was a pretty quick visit once he got started. I was actually sad i was done after this! Lol i wish they could be my normal dentist office:( i am so grateful to this office for taking care of me in an emergency situation. I'm now 6ish hours after procedure and i have no pain whatsoever. I call my insurance to verify and my insurance is finally the one to inform me that this practice is in fact out of network, thus the high price tag. When I call the practice to inform them of this and that I will not be proceeding due to being out of network, I was informed that no, no, no, I was most certainly told they were out of network and I must be mistaken. I promise you I am not one to mishear things when it comes to insurance or cost because I a) can't afford to do things out of network and b) why would I do something out of network when I have dental insurance??? Again I was told this was my mistake and they accepted no responsibility. Her "bedside" demeanor is competent and gentle (I'm a nervous wreck) and she even clued in to leaving the weighted x-ray guard on me through my treatment--I'm on the spectrum, and I didn't have to explain any of this, she just intuited/sensed it. What a difference this and other small details made!! The tooth was a re-treat, meaning it hadn't been done properly the first time (by a different doctor); Dr. Sun warned me that because of the tissue damage, surgery might be required within a year, which I acknowledged.
