I've had the pleasure of visiting Harkins BackLot twice this year, and my 11-year-old niece is officially sold. It definitely makes me look like the star auntie! Every visit has been a great experience. No matter where we are in the venue, the employees are always incredibly nice and helpful. Honestly, it's some of the best customer service I've experienced anywhere. There's so much to do here. The games are fun and there's something for everyone -- real live-action virtual reality, bowling, air hockey, arcade games, basketball, and more. It's the kind of place where you can easily spend hours and not get bored. I also love the setup of the space. There's plenty of seating both inside and outside, and inside they have massive TVs that cover the whole wall, which makes it a fun place to watch games or just hang out. It's also a great spot for birthday parties, group outings, or family time. And the prizes are actually really cool, which makes the arcade even more exciting for kids. I've dined in the restaurant twice and the food was amazing. Great price point. You can take the whole family there. Overall, such a fun experience every time. We'll definitely be back! read more

Had a complimentary pass to see Avatar Fire & Ice. Have not been to a movie theater or this facility in several years. Large theater, people were helpful. Had a ticket for popcorn. The seating was comfortable and roomy. Sound and film quality were exceptional. Enjoyed the movie, it was pretty long (3 hours and 15 minutes). Overall a very pleasant evening. Had a fun Sunday football day at Harkins BackLot in Norterra and here is how it went. There is so much seating room and the big screens make it a great place to watch the games. It really felt like the perfect spot for a casual sports hangout. We went bowling for about an hour and it was fun, but definitely on the pricey side. The queso fundido was tasty and we really enjoyed it. The Southwest BBQ wrap on the other hand was cold and bland which was disappointing. A pitcher of beer was twenty three dollars which also felt expensive. Overall it is a fun place if you want to catch a game, bowl, and hang out with friends, but be prepared to spend more than you would at a regular sports bar. read more

The Harkins Backlot is a brand hangout spot that offers bowling, arcade games, and a restaurant/bar. It's not a huge place but it is a good size and offers a good amount of arcade games. It's smaller than Dave and Busters but larger than Uptown Alley in Surprise, AZ if you are familiar. They have really great large screens in the dining area. We asked if they were going to be showing any games or UFC fights because it would be great to watch with their large projection screens. At the moment they said they want to keep it family friendly so no fights but they do plan to show some games so we will most likely return to see a couple and have some food/drinks. The drinks were pretty good! We enjoyed the spicy mango margarita and the espresso martini. We also ordered some queso and split The Fight Club sandwich. The queso really impressed me because at a lot of places it's fairly runny but this one was very thick and you could taste the real cheese and chorizo. It was not spicy at all but really good. I also really enjoyed the house made tortilla chips. The sandwich was a decent size but not huge but we really enjoyed it. It was like a BLT with turkey and it was supposed to have jalapeño bacon but I honestly didn't taste the jalapeño at all, however it was nice and crispy. Being the grand opening and all they are currently offering 25% off throughout the end of July on food (excluding alcoholic beverages) and on bowling. They are not offering 25% on arcade games however we received some extra points to play more games on our card. Everything is new and top notch. They have really cool motion games such as the fast and furious one and there was another that was almost like little space ships. I hadn't seen those before but they were a lot of fun! Food is a bit pricy but it doesn't taste like reheated frozen stuff. I see some complaints regarding the prices but honestly it's not priced terribly out of the ordinary in my opinion. Been here twice. They seem to have a good setup for sports to watch on TV at the bar and next to the bar is like a bigger TV pit. I tried the $10 quesadilla, plus five for chicken and it was good, but standard bar fare. It wasn't really elevated, but that's fine. A good addition to the area. read more

Stopped by here for the first time and this place is pretty darn cool! Definitely fun to bring the kiddos! Or even on a date! Or just with friends. This place has lots to do from bowling, darts, lots of arcade games! You can go to the bar and get drinks or just sit anywhere available and a server will come to you to get your order and drinks! The ambiance in here is so cool! The food was also yummy! I got the mac and cheese and also got the carne asada nachos! Both were so good! The nachos could use more toppings felt a little light on that portion but still good! The mac and cheese was creamy and not dry! It was good! We also got the donut holes and the raspberry is top tier! The chocolate was also pretty good, but that raspberry sauce was it!! Definitely a vibe in here. Went to Harkins Backlot to watch the Chargers-Chiefs game in the Backlot Arena. I gotta say, I am impressed with this place. It's easiest described as Min Dave & Busters. But the Backlot Arena TV is bigger! It was a fun place to watch a game. We sat in a booth and were surrounded by TVs with the main TV being massive in size. The 3 of us order a Large Meatlovers Pizza, the Ultimate Carne Asada Nachos, and also the Carne Asada Fries. The CA Fries were smaller but much better tasting than the nachos version. The Pizza was a massive 22' New York style pizza and was really good! I will definitely be back I. The future to watch more games! Maybe even a few rounds of bowling and some games as well. read more

All in all it was great...the customer service was awesome, especially when we paid for a game and then it wasn't working. Prices were pretty standard - so it wasn't cheap and sometimes it felt like some games cost a lot of credits with only a second of 'playing'. But the cost it did seem in line with similar venues. We also went to the restaurant, and the waitress was clearly still learning but she was super nice and polite. I would return for the brussel sprouts alone--those get 5 stars! I got mine without the chili sauce and they were so tasty. The burger was also good and surprisingly not overcooked--it was actually more on the medium or medium rare side which I appreciated. The waitress didn't check on us much, especially at the end, and so we finally stood up and went to the bar to pay the tab. This place is a blast! We did bowling and on Sunday night at 5 pm and it's bowling for 20 bucks an hour! The lanes are fun, food and drinks are great. . Playing games and the prizes go a long way here. So much FUN! TVs are also great. My kids' new favorite spot in Norterra! Bowling set up is kind of tight if it is busy - and there can be a wait, not too many lanes. Arcade is big enough to keep the kids busy (until they run out of credits!), but not so big that I feel uncomfortable hanging at a table in the restaurant while they play. The downside is the food, which has generally been mediocre at best. Kids menu needs a burger option. The queso fundido, fries, and the bowl of popcorn are the way to go, anything else we have tried has been a miss. Go for the apps and the games. read more

Great experience, nassir took us on a tour and was just amazing. He really made a great first impression and he was so helpful and friendly. He just set the mood for the rest of the experience and my family and I were so grateful for him. I would recommend this place just on him alone. We came for the soft opening and were told they might not get everything perfect right away, but to let them know if anything wasn't right so they could fix it. We actually had no complaints; our 4-year-old was very happy. We ate lunch first, and the salads were really good with all fresh ingredients. My husband had the Philly cheesesteak and was impressed. This place has large, movie-screen-sized displays, which really give it a unique feel. We decided to play some games. They have a variety of games, similar to what you'd find at a Dave & Buster's. Our daughter had a blast. There's a good selection. We're really happy to have this so close to home now. We didn't get to try the bowling or darts yet, but both looked like fun options. This place was a perfect addition to Norterra. Finally something to do with the family for parents and kids. Everything was fresh with a super cool movies vibe to go with the theme of Harkins. I have no doubt this place will be packed all the time. I started with the trio and hummus apps. They both have great flavor. I got the sweetest thing salad it was perfect flavor and hit the spot. Last but not least the s'more brownie skillet was so delicious not to sweet perfect flavor. You can even order their popcorn! Have been here twice with family since they opened. The first time my wife and I sat at the bar and gave the kids 12 and 15 each cards loaded with $45 each. The kids seemed to enjoy the games and both felt there was a good variety. Overall very clean and the movie theming is nice and deliverd subtle. Drinks at the bar were good and out bartender was attentive. My wife and I ordered nachos and chicken fingers for the kids. Chicken fingers were nicely prepared, and crispy. Fries were battered and good as well. Nachos fell short as there was only a handful of chips and what seemed to be the bottom of the bag crumbles. Good for first visit. We returned a few weeks later with the family. Sixish on a Friday, I'd say 50% capacity. Same deal, kids cards $, parents changed up for high top. Well what a difference not being at the bar. Service was absolutely terrible. 20 mins to get our first drink. Then 20 mins between server visits. We ordered food just as our kids consumed $45 in game credits. Now, I get there is a younger staff and it's an arcade/sports bar. But if I'm spending a few hundred dollars on games and bar food, service should be more attentive. There seemed to be plenty of staff and at the capacity should have made it an easy lift. We would have ordered more, but not at the turnaround we experienced. From asking for the check to paying was another 20 mins. Tried to pay at the bar and they had to retrieve our sever. Will give another shot most likely as the location is super convenient and I'm hopeful the service improves over time. Again, clean nice atmosphere with great tvs. Decent food and drinks. read more

Finally stopped in after working a double today. Sat at the bar, open seating. Ordered the prickly pear mojito, and added a tajin rim which made it better but it was okay overall, nothing too great. I ordered the Ahi Poke Stack (forgot to take a picture), it looked better than it tasted; I asked for some soy sauce just to add a little more flavor and salt BUT I will say, it was soooo fresh which I really enjoyed and appreciated! The crispy wonton chips were honestly the best part of the dish! Lastly, I ordered the Brioche Bread Pudding for dessert and it was BY FAR THE BEST BREAD PUDDING IVE EVERRRR HAD! I want to eat a whole vat of that butter rum sauce! Overall, a little pricey for everything I got ($40.65) but it was still a nice little treat. Will still definitely come back to try more things! Came to watch football. Amazing TVs, nice bar, super cool layout. Was super excited to watch the game here. Vibe awful! Empty in here so boring. Ordered food and drinks and understand why it's empty. Ordered the steak and cheese. The size is a freaking joke! If this was on the child's menu it would have been disappointing. The bread is about the size of an Olive Garden bread stick. I'd be shocked if there was 2oz of meat. What meat there was was completely over cooked, but you could barely taste it bc it's 99% Steal bread with a tiny drizzle of cheese wiz, no additional cheese. For $16 you get about half as much food from a $1.99 burger at McDonalds. Just to be perfectly clear, it sucked! The drinks a ridiculously over priced as well. Overall this place is a good place to go for the entertainment but on the food side it needs some help the Philly cheesesteak was mid the chicken tenders were about the only thing worth getting and then wings were funky 3.5/10. They served us uncooked wings. Our waiter stated that they keep getting returned. I said your going to make someone really sick. He then asked if we wanted them to redo, we declined. My friends 14 year old was with us in the bar waiting for a table and we were told he had to leave. A few minutes later some guy and his toddler who got up on the stool at the bar appeared and nothing was said to him about her. SO many machine/games were not working. Restaurant has terrible, SLOW service even though only 3 tables were used during lunch. Took forever to get a soda and forget about a refill. Uncooked chicken wings with red/pink middle, hardly any chicken in the wrap, and nobody seemed to know what they were doing on the wait staff/food runner. When they tried to correct the uncooked food, it took almost 30 minutes and the rest of our party was done eating. We told them just to take it off the bill and we left hungry and disappointed.
