They explained that in spite of other reviewers writing that Canterbury Tails is a holistic clinic, NO, they are NOT. That was explained to me by the office manager this evening. So that is good to know. It helped me to adjust my expectations. The Vet, Dr. Sue C. Cleary, is a quiet, non-talkative style vet. I am not used to that at all and will need to make sure I ask a ton of questions at my next visit. The costs are still a concern, but possibly can be worked out. Anyhow, they reached out to me and showed caring and concern, so I decided to tone down my previous review. Everyone can use mercy now and then. Things often look different when explanations are given and received.

I recently had to put my dog down for medical issues. The staff were horrible and treated me like I was at an interrogation! It is the owners decision and it broke my heart but what I felt was best for my dog. The staff treated me terribly! Don't they teach compassion in school for this very daunting task of euthanasia?? I would not recommend this practice at all! Go somewhere else! I hope the vet (who is very young) sees this and that her treatment of me follows her to the end of her career! I will never get over the added trauma she and her staff have caused me. I still have nightmares!

I didn't even have to step foot in the door to this place to write this review. I scheduled my 2…read moreshih tzus for grooming, made the appointments 2 days ago. One of them is 14 years old and is in CHF. Before I say what I'm about to say - I completely understand that if a facility does not have oxygen tanks and other medical resources/staff to aid in the event of an emergency, that they will not take my dog in CHF for grooming - I get that part. I spoke to THREE different people about this, thoroughly explaining my dog's condition and each time I was NOT told that that was a dealbreaker. I continued to make their accounts, requested bookings, and uploaded their vaccination records and medical records (particularly for my dog with CHF). Everything was approved and verified by the staff - per what their portal was saying - and the appointments have been on the schedule for 2 days. To add on to this, they actually had to last-minute reschedule one of the dog's appointments due to a staff emergency. I was fine with that, but again, there was no implication at all that the appointment was at risk for being cancelled due to my dog's condition, hence being rescheduled. It was rescheduled and I waited another day with no sort of outreach from Wagging Tails about anything.... until THIS MORNING (both appointments were supposed to be today) I get a text message because god forbid they have the decency to make a phone call, saying that both appointments have been cancelled due to my dog's condition and the lack of equipment/medical resources on hand. THAT WAS NOT BROUGHT UP ONE TIME, EACH TIME I SPOKE WITH SOMEONE ABOUT MY CHF DOG'S APPOINTMENT. I am extremely displeased with the lack of communication and professionalism, as well as overall respect by this place. When I called this morning to ask again, WHY, this was being done in the first place, but more so WHY was this not communicated to me beforehand when I scheduled the appointments days ago... AND SPOKE WITH YOUR STAFF DIRECTLY ABOUT THIS CONCERN???? Of course, whoever picked up the phone with me this morning had no idea why I was so displeased... claiming that my dog's condition was "never brought up in discussion prior to now"... don't even get me started. I truly could keep writing about how this place is a huge waste of you and your animals' times, but now I have to start the whole process over and desperately search for grooming for my dogs all over again! Wagging Tails, I strongly suggest you do better on your end because this isn't looking great for you guys, and I can confidently claim that I will not be considering this place in any future, let alone recommending it to anyone. We had an excellent experience with Christina. Our 3.5 year old Yorkie, Loki, was so full of…read moreanxiety that he would literally run around the house terrified for four hours straight barking and "screaming" as we called it (like the screaming goat) as late as midnight. It wasn't his fault, but we had to do something. He was taking medication recommended by our vet at the time. Christina's first visit was spent talking to us through Loki's barking and crying from his crate literally right next to us. She could see that in this state, he needed help before he needed training. She recommended we talk to our vet about a different medication, as she suspected the one he was taking was actually making his anxiety worse. She also recommended a change in his diet from store bought (high end) to homemade. We agreed to do these things and meet again in two weeks. When she came back, Loki was a different dog. He still needed training and still had anxiety, but we could now learn how to desensitize him to the things he was afraid of. (Doorbell, packages, strangers on walks, other dogs) Christina taught us the skills to train Lokie on these issues. Desensitizing will take time and commitment on our end and we are doing our best. :) We were not looking to teach our dog tricks, he does know the basics now though. We were looking for peace for Loki and our family. We are able to sit with him and take him places once again. THANK YOU CHRISTINA!!

We get a few refresher classes once in a while to maintain Bella's good behavior. I've learned a few tricks I haven't heard anywhere before. Highly recommend.
