Went several year ago for TMJ issue. They did some red light on my teeth and claimed I had a ton of cavities, teeth rotting inside, etc. using some red light they claimed could find cavities. Decided to get another opinion, as I have only had one cavity in my life and had no pain or sensitivity. Saw another dentist that said no cavities at all. Decided to go to one more dentist for a "tie breaker" and that dentist also confirmed absolutely no cavities, even did Xrays to confirm. I feel conned by this place even to this day, several years later so decided to write a review when I saw the name come up in a search I was doing. To this day, many years later, I still have no cavities. I feel this place is just about grabbing as much money for you as possible and seems to want to do unnecessary dental work. Would not recommend them at all and if you do go and they tell you that you need a bunch of dental work, GET ANOTHER OPINION before you waste your hard earned money. read more

Just as all the other reviews just overall bad experience. Started out awesome they would give a warm blanket when you got there. Then over time things changed. I originally saw Dr Tara she did my veneers. Which turn out ok. Not fantastic like you would expect. Then I got handed off to her father when he retired I got handed off to a new dentist. Constantly being scolded about flossing. For gods sake I am in my 50s. Don't need constant reminders about that. I floss! Sod off! The. There are the apt reminder. For god sake I don't need a babysitter! Again I am in my 50s never missed appointment (the constant reminder are not the reason!). I am a grown women. I put my appointments on my calendar. Dr. HARDIN has a poor bedside manner. The first visit she was extremely personable and friendly. Unfortunately, that changed after my husband and I became regular patients. We chose her because of her bio. However, we were transitioned over to one of the much newer less experienced dentist (Dr. Hampton) in the group. Yikes is all i can say about this practice. As others have mentioned, be prepared for the sticker shock of a lifetime when you get your care plan. Dr. Hardin argued with me for 10 minutes about my own dental history, telling me repeatedly that i was wrong about how my old bridge had been anchored, and constantly talked over me while I attempted to explain it. Just condescension from start to finish...not the best look when you're pitching someone on a 1-2 year, $40k care plan. At one point she said "oh you thought i was going to make you a magical partial." No, Dr. Hardin, I thought you'd make me a regular one, as i indicated when you took my appointment and paid your consultation fee. After it became clear that my concerns and preferences were not being heard at all, i got up and left and will not be back. On the positive side, her staff were great and their 3D scan process is vastly better than old fashioned impressions. That said, 3D scanning is no longer as advanced as this practice would have you believe. Most denture studios can do it now, and i plan to work with one of them instead. She upsells you on everything, runs from room to room , keeps you waiting ridiculously long amounts of time to finish your appointment and has her staff do almost all of the work. Do NOT waste your time or MONEY here! Dr. Tara Hardin is condescending, narcissistic, and completely inept. Hardin wants your money only and does not care about providing timely professional services or results. If you're unhappy with the results of your cosmetic dental work for which you pay thousands of dollars... out-of-pocket, so what! She does not care and does not want to rectify the situation. It's comical how many times the office will call, text, and email you to confirm appointments because she does not want any cancellations in her schedule after all, more patients equals more MONEY.However, she frequently cancels your scheduled appointment with a days notice. She has a total disregard for a patients time. It's all about her! Be prepared to pay for many additional UNNECESSARY procedures as well. I swear they have morning meetings, discussing the patients of the day, and what the fee will be, and the employees are instructed to collect the payment prior to even sitting down in the chair for an exam!!! The biggest issue to note is the fact that this "so called top cosmetic dentist " has NOTHING to do with the design aesthetic of your teeth/smile!!!! Her assistants do it all!!!!!!!! They scan, take molds, make temporaries that end up being your new expensive teeth and they look just like you would expect.....less than desirable! Dr Hardin does select the color, and cements the new crowns/ veneers. She is awful at choosing the appropriate shade. A clipboard with a liability waver is shoved in your face while you're swollen, numb, and lack oxygen to your brain from having your head reclined for so long while she runs from room to room, Cha-ching, Cha-ching $$$$ (again another reason her appointments take FOREVER) that says, you've seen your new teeth prior to cementing so if you don't like it, you're screwed, it's on you ($$$) if you want any revisions. The office has a high turnover. There's always someone new on your case to explain your history to which is exhausting. DO NOT be fooled by the initial consultation where she "sells" you on her abilities....blah blah blah. It's all a facade. They will take numerous before pics and zero of your final result! Why?! Because she doesn't care and would be embarrassed in a peer review of 'her' AKA the dental assistants final results! They would have received a neutral review (though certainly not a recommendation) but for the very, very end. Here's the scene. My invisalign was complete. And it was time for a cosmetic fix and my permanent retainer. I was informed that the 'updated' cost of those two items would be nearly a thousand dollars more than what was first quoted. Now keep in mind it had been some time since the quote. But nearly a thousand dollar difference to address the exact things reviewed and approved in the initial treatment plan? And this change of price/justification for the change was not relayed to me by the doctor. Instead, in the flurry of her coming in to do something else, she talked OVER me to the woman helping her and said "did anyone talk to her about the change?" And they said no not yet. Had I known the 'change' would be a doubling of the original quote I would have spoken up then. Bottom line, the doctor did not take the time to talk me, the patient, through the change. And that's a problem. But that wasn't the biggest problem. THIS was (and this is what ultimately prompted the review): when I brought up my concerns to the lovely woman helping me I was told that someone from their office would give me a call back to discuss the price change and completion of my treatment plan. Keep in mind that I've made a multi thousand dollar investment in my mouth. And of course that I'd like to preserve that investment. A retainer is crucial. And I'm not sure if the cosmetic fix is needed before the permanent retainer. So, a week goes by, and no one has called. I send an email. No one responds to the email. I call a week or so later. Speak to a person who says they'll relay my message and someone will call me back. Nearly two weeks later, no one has called back. THIS is the problem. If the answer is that the prices are what they are regardless of what was quoted, then say that explicitly and allow me to move on. Or if you think I ask too many questions or am to specific with my desired outcome, then say that and I'll move on. But what you SHOULD not do in a patient/provider situation is just not respond and leave me in purgatory. Wondering if I'll finish my treatment there or have to find a new dentist. Shame. Shame. Shame. Also of note: during the invisalign treatment, it felt like I had to work to ensure an outcome I could live with. At the end of my first set of trays, the doctor seemed ready to take my buttons off (the mechanisms that help move your teeth to align with the trays) and I had to affirmatively raise that there was a tiny gap between the top of my front teeth, that my bottom teeth didn't look perfectly even, there wasn't alignment of my top and bottom midlines and a front tooth did not align well with the rest (which a loved one had also commented on when I said my trays were 'over'). Once pointed out, the doctor did work persistently with the invisalign folks to get a new plan, and I was appreciative. But I've always wondered whether had I not said anything, if that would've been the end of my invisalign. Ultimately, the staff people who help you are fantastic and I can live with my invisalign outcome. BUT given my experiences cannot recommend this place. read more

been going to this place for quiet few years now, at first everything was fine, the hygienists were nice, only feel a little uncomfortable because every time I visit, they trying to convince me to spend money doing something. Make me wonder how would my teeth still be this bad when I follow their recommendation to visit every 3 months for a regular cleaning for over 5 years(or longer)! Things got worse recently, I have to reschedule an appointment because my nanny suddenly change schedule on me. I called and explained there is conflict because I have to drop off the kids, the front desk persist me to keep the appointment on the same day, so I gave her a time that works for me, the front desk says she will check on it and keep me on hold for a while and when she's back on the phone, she mistake me with someone else and hang up on me, I never receive a call back that day. Next morning, Dr. Tara called asking me to come at the appointment time, I try to explained my situation again and what happen when I tried to rescheduled, however I would try to come in a different time on the same day or reschedule another date. Then she told me since I had so many broken appointments, her office can't no longer take me as customer anymore?! The whole phone conversation made me feel terrible, I feel like I had talked to a spoiled woman who so full of herself, and not consider anyone else but her own, she is not even willing to work around the schedule for customer for a bit, but as a customer I have to work with their schedule because I often received call or text from their office before asked me to come in on a different time... The front desk called me later on, so I asked when did I have so many broken appointments?(I was so shocked by the way Dr. Tara talked when she called so I forget to ask) I'm being told I have 4 reschedules in the past, I mean 4 reschedules over 5 years(maybe longer) consider too many broken appointments?！ I guess my conclusion is Hardin is too good for me after I spend so much wrong money at this place. read more

I was so looking forward to this appointment! I was early and waited 20 minutes past my appointment to be seen. I paid $100 in advance and assumed I would be seen by an actual dentist. Instead I was taken to a room where they mapped a 3D image of my teeth, it was very cool and not invasive. The next person I spoke to was all about the money.. Do you have 50k, 70k or 35k? I was surprised because I hadn't had ex rays yet. How can you quote implants without knowing the condition of my teeth of gums? I never saw an actual dentist. This place is way overpriced and just wants your money. The head dentist is very full of herself in my opinion. I Went for a small chip in my tooth and they told me before they would fix it I would have to get Invisalign and said I had a "sever case" which it's not at all and quoted me at 4K which is obsurd then another 500 to fix my chip. Went to Dr. Weisenberg in Mt Lookout (highly recommend) who said my bite was fine and didn't need Invisalign and quoted me half the cost for the chipped tooth. The reason the dental office gets 5 stars is because they have you fill out the rating in front of them. So when you are seeing how great the office is, that is because they are standing in front of you pressuring you to give them positive reviews. Not only was I charged for advance treatments. when I canceled they refused to give me the money for the visit I canceled, after receiving an email stating they would. I had a terrible experience here. Tara Hardin is rude and condescending. She doesn't listen to your concerns or care. I was charged triple the amount for crowns, same material used at my regular dentist. My crowns were not placed correctly, which I brought up multiple times with the temporaries. I was ignored and told the finals would be fine. The force you to sign a waiver while you're numb and exhausted in the chair before they cement the finals in. I was never informed about this process. This waiver legally prevents you from complaining, having any corrections if there are issues or concerns after the crowns are cemented. Now I have a lisp that I didn't have before because of the crowns. If you have one front tooth to replace, they pressure you to have both done so they "match". With all this fancy equipment and scans they can't match a color? Their schedulers/ consultants use high pressure tactics to have more done than needed. They wanted me to do a $50k smile makeover and even suggested I take out a second mortgage if needed. Do yourself a favor and see a regular dentist. The crowns come from the same lab, you can check based on the material you choose. This was one of my worst mistakes that will take years to pay off. read more

Hardin definitely seems to be in it for the money. After telling me one cost, when it was time to pay it was many many more dollars. After seeking a second opinion I had none of the issues that they said I did. And I still only had 3 less cavities then you said I did. And they charged me a fraction of the cost you were going too. I went to Hardin Advanced Dentistry for a cleaning and check-up but was very disappointed with the services I received. I desired holistic dental care since I have many sensitivities and health concerns. Hardin Dentistry is considered an out-of-network provider by my insurance, but I was willing to pay the extra cost to get the holistic services. I made sure that all individuals involved in my care were aware of my health concerns. I consider the actions of some of the staff members as being negligent. My primary complaint involves the hygienist. After informing her of my desire for holistic materials and care, she stated that they like to use an air polishing process. I mistakenly assumed that this air polishing process was holistic and only involved using air pressure and water similar to a waterpik. After she completed the cleaning, I noticed something crunchy in my mouth. I asked her what this was, and she said it was aluminum trihydroxide. I was extremely upset that an aluminum compound had been used since I do not consider this holistic. I believe she was negligent by not properly informing me about materials used during the procedure. When she realized I was upset, she tried to assuage my feelings by saying, "It should be okay since it isn't going inside your body." I do not agree with this statement since the aluminum compound can be absorbed by the mucous membranes in the mouth and digestive tract. She also tried to convince me it was safe by saying none of her other patients have had any problems or reactions. I felt she was trivializing something I felt was serious. Fortunately, I didn't have any immediate reactions; however, I fear long-term or cumulative damage that could develop in the future. The other complaints I have involve the assistant. Since I was a new patient, I was asked to come in for a preliminary appointment to fill out paperwork and do a scan of my teeth. When I returned for the main appointment, they could not find my information and scans. They had to redo the scan. Once these scans and the x-rays were completed, the dentist examined my teeth and talked to me for a few minutes. I was then told that the hygienist would come in shortly to clean my teeth. I waited at least twenty minutes. I finally flagged someone in the hallway to find out what was taking so long. I got the impression that they had forgotten about me. There seemed to be a lack of organization and communication. read more

Said my son had 8 "extremely deep" cavities- went to another dentist and he had NONE. I regret I did allow them to fill 3 of the "8" before we went somewhere else. They made us pay right there in the chair and they told me how much they were for one surface. But when we came back to get them filled it was a different amount. So I called around and got another dentist prices and went there. Hardin claimed the cavities were so deep that you had to have their special technology to see- but 2 years later the truth is the same- he had NONE!!! They showed me pictures of someone else's mouth and so I thought it was my son's- They quickly covered how it was the daughter of someone on the board of children's hospital. I think that is a violation of HIPPA.... SOooo I tried to work with the cincinnati dental society- who said it was out of their area. I contacted the board and never heard back. SO! I'm warning you! BEWARE of Hardin- they seem so good- until you find out they can convince you of something that is not so! Hardin seems to be in it for the $$$$ money for sure. read more

I was really confused by this organization. Customer service? Top notch. Ethics? I am not so sure. I had to come in two different times to get one side of my mouth worked on then the other. Both times they found "things" that cost more. On both sides. For a dentist that is so high tech, I am not sure how they would be missing something on BOTH sides of my mouth. I can see one side but both that conveniently now charged me more money? It feels sketchy. I paid for all of my stuff outright without a payment plan. Lied about insurance coverage and then made me pay a huge bill while still sitting in the dentist chair. Completely unethical!

I googled highly rated cosmetic dentists and this dentist came up, I went in for a consultation and told them what I wanted, well next thing I'm getting my teeth cleaned and then I'm told I have an infection and 4 cavities , all in my back teeth and they will need to treat that but they didn't recommend an antibiotic for an infection ! ???? That was the first alarm, they told me the sky was the limit as what I could spend, I could spend as much as a brand new nice car, I told the gal I'm not looking to spend that kind of money, not even $30,000 , geez I'm thinking this isn't the lifestyles of the rich and famous ! So the 2nd appointment I get an estimate WOW $57,000 smile! They suggested different ways I could finance this- the payment was as much as a luxury car each month or a $300,000 HOUSE PAYMENT, I was given a folder. needless to say I googled cosmetic dentist again closer to my residence and made an appointment for a second opinion, GUESS WHAT, no cavities, no infection and $22,000 estimate for the exact same work but detailed in my 2nd opinion with the cost of every tooth, Hardin didn't break down each and everything- they gave an estimate in one lump sum , so essentially Hardin was charging 2.5 times per tooth what this other highly rated dentist estimated. I'm not paying for a castle office with marble and high end impressions, I just want an honest opinion and fair quote for my teeth, BEWARE this place is a rip off and everyone should know exactly what kind of people work here- unethical! I had the full cosmetic veneer procedure completed on my upper and lower teeth. This was very extensive as I had two caps in the front that had been there for over 30 years, and I had a permanent retainer on the lower section from when I had braces. Dr Tara Hardin and her staff are amazing. She uses very high tech measurement instruments and procedures to ensure the final result is nothing less than phenomenal. She and her staff were very good about presenting options for less costly treatment, and for the final veneer selection. I was kept informed every step of the way. My case was not an easy one, but I could not be more pleased with the results. Any full cosmetic veneer procedure is going to be costly, no matter where you get it done. What I can tell you is that it is life changing. You will have more confidence in everything you do. For those without a perfect smile, I think it is a must for executives moving up the ladder. I had a scooter accident that resulted in me losing a tooth. I went to see Dr. Tara, and she X-rayed the tooth and said I needed an implant. She worked quickly to get me into an excellent periodontist (who has a 3-month waiting list, by the way) THAT DAY. He did the procedure, and I was back at Hardin later that day for the temporary restoration. There is not another dentist in town -- or maybe anywhere -- who could have gotten two complex procedures done in one day. I am so appreciative!
