I bought a complete upper from them. It looked good and fired with complete reliability. I had built it to be heavy, but I could barely keep hits on the paper with iron sights at 50 yards from sandbags. I returned it once, then again for something wrong with the barrel nut. That being fixed, it was better, but still no good, quite inaccurate with expensive iron sights. Maybe eight inch groups. I put it aside for a while and plan to try once again, with a cheap scope I know works, and different ammo. If it it fails again at 50 yards I will give the upper away to anyone at my club who wants to fool with it. As an example, I can shoot groups a third the size with a Mini-14 and irons.. read more

I had a tour when i was in town on vacation and saw that they make all of their peices in house watched them build barrels and much more.. The shop was spotless and organized. Ordered a simple upper. After a couple weeks I emailed to check on the order since you can't look it up on the website. Was sent a snarky response about "4-6 weeks and I should have seen the notice and blah blah". It took them 7 weeks to stick a few parts together. With all that time I had rethought what I wanted this build to be but there's a 20% fee to cancel. They won't be starting it for a month or more but you still have to pay to say never mind. In the reviews I watch on youtube everyone gets their uppers sent in a nice big box with heavy foam packing. Mine came in flimsy cardboard with a bit of a foam sheet around it. The upper is very heavy. It uses a quad picatinny rail that was outdated 20 years ago. Wish I had thought about it a bit more before jumping on the "deal" they had posted. Worst Experience Ever! I placed an order back in November of 2017 for a $1,200 upper receiver for my AR15 build. Placed my order and it took the staff a whole month to notify me that I could not purchase that particular item due to California laws, that's no problem, ok. Took a month off to tell me but fine. So I simply changed my order to a complete upper receiver with bolt carrier and charge handle that they had on sale for $299, and was told I would be refunded my remaining purchase cost of $883.... it is now February and I'm still getting the run around about my refund and to top it off I come home from work today to FINALLY open my purchase and my order isn't even what I had ordered. The bolt carrier was supposed to be nickeled and it's just a standardized bolt carrier. If the sent me the wrong caliber size barrel and bolt carrier I could have scrap metal in my face upon firing. This is my first and last purchase from this company. I will take my money to a more reputable organization with more interest in customer satisfaction. read more

Ordered a 7.62x39mm upper on the 5th of April. I was made aware of the 4-6 week wait time and was okay with it. Cut forward to 3 weeks ahead and I'm interested in ordering another upper. Try to go to the website, it's down. Gave them a call and left a message to let them know and inquire about another upper. Sent them an email and waited a week, no response. Started calling everyday and no one ever answered. I found an article by the Island Guardian that they closed down on the 12th. No refund was issued to my account. Now I'm sitting here scammed out of hundreds of dollars with nothing to show for it. Found the owner by the name of Patrick Merlino online. Sent him a message through social media and have not received a response since. Hardened Arms closed by their own will without warning and did not issue refunds to their customers. I purchased a 16in 300 BLK upper from Hardened Arms. The feed ramps were not cut larger like other ones I have. They were cut the same as 5.56. The thing kept having feeding issues and jamming often, about every 3-8 rounds depending on the bullet shape. I sent it back once but they did not correct the issue. After multiple emails and phone calls I was not able to get the feed ramps reworked. They insisted the feed ramps were correct even after I sent pictures of another barrel with correct ramps alongside of theirs. I eventually purchased a barrel from another vendor (Daytona Tactical) and have had no issues with that barrel at all. I liked their hand-guards and barrel nut but I will never purchase a barrel from them again. Hand-guards maybe, but not sure due to customer service. Robert T. read more

I bought an 18 inch upper from them and the wait time was ridiculous. I wasn't aware of the 6 weeks issue so I called them and they explained it to me. Then they told me it may be a bit longer Due to the fact that it takes them six weeks to process an order and they were having problems with barrels being shipped from the east coast due to crazy weather. I live on the East Coast and the weather was fine which made no sense to me. And then I was thinking that they claim to make all of the products "in house ". Nevertheless Once I receive the upper it was pretty nice, and at this point I didn't mind waiting that long because it was a really good looking rifle. Sometime throughout I decided that I would build a 6.5 Grendel rifle and decided to go with their 24 inch bull barrel upper receiver so I ordered it. Sometime there after I ordered a 7.5 inch pistol upper receiver and started the wait. After about 7 1/2 weeks I tried to call them to find out what the status on both of my orders were. After calling several times in about the time span of a week I got no replies. Then the website went down and about two days later the Facebook site was gone. The Internet said that they had got shut down by the ATF. I sent about five emails wanting to know where my money was if in fact they were shut down or they closed the business. On the Internet I found in local newspaper to their region and it said that the owner claims the ATF had no business in it as he closed the business due to declining sales. So my thoughts were " if they knew they were shutting down why the fuck did they take my money?" At this point I had to call my bank to get a dispute/refund in order. A couple weeks later after getting no response to calls, emails, Facebook or having a website I decided to go with 2 better companies called Moriarti Arms & Davidson Defense and the level of customer service that Moriarti Arms gave me just in the beginning was enough for me to know that I had made a wise decision. At the time I was informed it would take two weeks for it to ship, which I was fine with and understood. Three days later they dropped the price by $70. I contacted Hardened Arms to request I be refunded the difference on my credit card to reflect the sale price. They refused. I asked if I could cancel the order. I was told that I could but there would be a 20% restocking fee. What needs to be restocked on an item that is not even available to ship for two weeks? If it is not on the shelf ready to be shipped, what needs to be restocked? Seeing how this is the way they treat someone who has not even yet received their product, they will never get any of my business ever again. read more

My Hardened Arms complete upper receiver arrived in three weeks $425.00 at the door . This is the package with magazine bcg and charging handle cal. 7.62x39 16" melonited barrel. The quad rail is bulky and did not exactly match the receivers top rail level . The quad rail became loose after 150 rounds . I replaced with a key mod 15" rail . The customer service has been outstanding. Shipped with a 30 round ASC quality magazine. Two weeks later they sent me a 10 rounder for free when they became available. My shooting experience has been fantastic. Over 300 rounds fired with no malfunctions ! With my handloads 150 gr. Pro-Hunters fly 2200 fps easily resulting in 1.5" 10. shot groups. 125gr Silver Bear sp ammo flys 2400 fps and will hold 2" groups. Groups hold even after 2 or three 10 shot magazines. So in closing . Where are you going to find this kind of performance at this price ? I'll be ordering the 18" melonited 5.56 nato with the 12" Scorpion rail next . My 1st and only Hardened upper came brown boxed with paper wrapped ends. In videos, they show them in nicer boxes with nice foam packaging. Also, my flash hider was so poor quality it looked like a blind man ground it with a hand grinder. No joke, it had a 1/4' burr sticking out on one side and did NOT look machined. It looked hand ground. I was like "OK, no big deal". Contacted them about it and they sent a new flash hider right away. They seen photos and even agreed that the flash hider was terrible and to "toss it out". The new one arrived in 2 or 3 days and looked excellent on the outside, all machined nicely and even like it should! BUT... then I notice something funny. The whole inside had been drilled out to 5/8' and threaded half way up the hider. lol, WTH!?!?!? I heard they had quality control issues but I figured stuff happens and I would try thier uppers. I just can't trust them now. I would check my stuff from them really well. It is also interesting that on the Hardened Arms website they don't have a way to review their products. As for me, I won't be buying anything else from them. Just my two cents. read more

Ordered a 16" upper and received it about 10 days later. I was very impressed with the overall quality & machine work but the free float rail was about 1/32 of an inch off center. Most people would never noticed, I checked with my feeler gauge. That would not have effected performance but as a engineer the perfectionist in me was telling my to fix it. Called Hardened and they immediately answered the phone. The woman on the phone was super nice and offered an exchange with free shipping. I wanted to get this fixed ASAP so they sent a loaner tool so I could make the adjustment myself. I have fired several high end ARs and I am confident Hardened Arms products are every bit as accurate as most anything out there. These people really stand by their products and make you feel like a valued customer. If you want fast shipping make sure to order from the quick ship section. Some of the other products take a couple weeks as they are made to order and wait time varies with demand. Best part, everything American made in house.
