We shouldered through to the single register but instead of waiting for a human we chose to use the self-order kiosk. The ordering process was fine until the end when the screen wouldn't accept payment and went blank. We weren't sure if the order went through or not so we had to wait in line at the single register to speak to the struggle bus driver. Fortunately the order did go through so we paid and shuffled into a corner to wait. Our next challenge was to keep our five year old from touching the glass of the happy meal toy display case. It was visibly smeared with shmeg from all the previous window lickers that had crammed into the tarrying corner. From this vantage point we had a clear view of the filthy kitchen. Scraps of lettuce and stomped fries jockeyed for position amongst scattered pallets and fumbled sesame seed buns. After 15 minutes our food appeared but straws and napkins were absent.
