A great surprise Sundae. Thank you Tres!
Paul O.

Thankyou Tres Velasquez for being our waiter and making my birthday lunch so enjoyable and a memorable experience. I have been to Hard Rock Cafes all around the world, including Sydney's original Hard Rock when it was located in Crown Street. We were seated outside on the balcony, overlooking the boats and wandering weekend crowds. A perfect view for lunchtime dining. The food is American diner fare - Rockin' Buffalo Wings, Balsamic Tomato Bruschetta, Nachos and Chicken Tenders for Entrees. For main dishes, the choices are endless. Famous Fajitas, Herb Grilled Chicken, Grilled Tasmanian Salmon, Prime Cuts of Lamb, Steak and Australian Angus Ribeye and succulent Cajun shrimp for a "Surf and Turf". I've never tried the smoke house combinations, so the Hickory-Smoked Barbecue Combo was on the list! Burgers and more burgers! You can choose a 6oz or 10oz beef burger under names such as "Legendary Aussie Burger", Classic Bacon Cheeseburger, Tango Burger, Hickory Barbecue Bacon Cheeseburger, Fiesta Burger and the Mushroom & Swiss Burger. I was going to order one of the delicious deserts but was presented with a surprise birthday sundae! This unexpected surprise added to my wonderful dining my dining experience. We loved the extra fruity punch (Tres Special Sangria) and it was the start of a great party night! We will definitely be returning again for more great food, drinks and your attentive and friendly service from all the wait staff at Hark Rock Café Darling Harbour.

Thanksgiving pumpkin pie

I've been to a couple Hard Rock Cafes around the world but this was my first experience in at HRC Sydney. I was pretty excited to see they were serving a Thanksgiving meal on Thanksgiving day so I booked table for 6 friends including myself. I made the booking for 8pm. I got a call earlier in the day to confirm we were still coming because they were really busy and probably running behind. This was 6 hours before we showed up. Upon arrival they said there was still a 40 minute wait for priority seating. Ok seriously? If you knew it was gonna be that packed for Thanksgiving dinner you shouldn't have accepted that many bookings! We went to the bar and had a couple drinks (cocktails way too sweet; beer super overpriced... $11 for a pint of beer?!) and finally got seated. Service was pretty good. It took a long time for the food to come out but our waiter was friendly and in good spirits. There was a set menu with a couple options Choice of Main: -Traditional Roast Turkey with chestnut stuffing, giblet gravy, green beans and sweet potato rosette with cranberry sauce. -Virginian Leg HamSlow-roasted Madeira honey-glazed leg ham with braised red cabbage, cilantro and garlic mash with blood orange sauce. I went with the turkey. It wasn't even real turkey. It was thick sliced turkey deli meat. No. The stuffing was a tiny lump of mush - don't even know what it was. Vegetables and sweet potato mash were normal. I'd give it a 1/5 for totally failing what a traditional Thanksgiving meal should be and also small portion size. A few others got the ham. It was pretty good. Especially the garlic mash - really really good. 3/5 because serving size small. Choice of Dessert: -Traditional Pumpkin Pie served with whip cream & ice cream. -Apple Cobbler served warm with vanilla ice cream, topped with walnuts & caramel sauce. I went with the pumpkin pie. It was more like individually baked pumpkin tarts with no spice added, and some crappy vanilla ice cream. 2/5 I tried the apple cobbler which was super cold and tasted like they just got it out of some freezer. It was nothing like apple cobbler. 1/5 The portion sizes were disappointing so they could have at least brought some bread rolls to go along with the mains. The only good dish was the ham. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt that the other non-Thanksgiving food they serve here regularly is pretty good but based on this experience unfortunately I have to give it a below-average score. I really wasn't looking for anything comparable to a home cooked meal, but something average/decent would have been nice! Don't advertise a Thanksgiving meal unless you can make something decent! You've just ripped people off $40.

The very delicious Oreo Cookie Cheesecake

If you like the Hard Rock Cafe franchise you should definitely have at least once a drink/dinner here. The Burgers are quite nice but a little but overpriced for what you get. If you fancy dessert you should try the Oreo Cookie Cheesecake, it's huge, filling and very delicious. Overall it's a nice experience but overpriced.

Listen. I do not expect to have the greatest service of my life when I come to Hard Rock. I know it is not a 3 Michelin Star restaurant. However, when I have our original server bail on us without a hand off and a15 plus minutes wait to get two ice creams for my girls (when it is not busy) is beyond the pale. Come on guys get it together. If I could leave no stars tonight I would.

It's a classic rock rock cafe vibe - loud, lots of folks drinking, but still keeping it family friendly, and fun. It's right next to Darling Harbour, so at night, the views are gorgeous especially on their outdoor seating. Our table of 3 ordered one fish, one steak, and one ribs entree. The fish was a tilapia and perfectly done with a solid side of fries. The ribs were also delicious, falling off the bone, and the sauce was wonderful, also with a side of fries. The steak was ordered as medium rare, but it came out well done, and very tough. Overall, service was excellent and staff were very helpful and attentive.

Darling harbour's offering of the popular American food chain. Nice view over the harbour, and it does what it says on the tin if your after a decent sized junk food fix. Portions are generous but pretty expensive, think $24 for veggie nachos. Chicken wings were nice and meaty and the medium level spice was just right

A trip to the Hard Rock Cafe, no matter the city, can be an interesting if not exciting expedition for any lover of music and/or celebrity. You can almost guarantee that the 'jukebox' will be pumping quality tunes and the memorabilia lining the walls is exciting, whether or not you knew/cared that Britney wore that sailor suit in her Oops I Did It Again tour. As always, the service is informal and friendly, super smiley and although a little fake, the waitresses make all attempts at being both personable and personal. The menu doesn't change much (if at all?) from country to country and many of the cocktails are served in your very own take-home souvenir Hard Rock glass. Well, usually. On my first visit to Sydney's Hard Rock Cafe, my friends and I were told that unfortunately there would be no souvenir glasses today. Nor would there be any tap beers except for VB. Actually, no, sorry, no VB either. But you can get a soft drink! Only we're out of lemonade. The food portions were huge, although the meals themselves were uninspiring and expensive. My Caesar Salad was a large plate of diced lettuce (reminiscent of a McDonalds Chicken Burger) with three black olives and five chunks of crouton. The chicken was tender, but there were no anchovies in sight. My friends' Nachos were equally large but lacking in anything substantial - merely chips covered in cheese with a handful of beans and jalapeños with a side ramican of salsa. Sydney's Hard Rock Cafe's Darling Harbour location is a great venue with all the Harbour highlight views. Their wrapping balcony is a great spot to sit in the sun and their indoor tables allow for extra gawking pleasure. For this, Sydney's branch is A.O.K. I was going to make a pun about the cafe having hit rock bottom hard (there's a pun in there somewhere), but that seemed a little harsh. It ain't bad, it just ain't that good. In the words of ACDC, "it's a long way to the top".

We did Christmas Day lunch @ Hard Rock & the staff were nothing but delightful. Food was of normal hard rock standard - American deliciousness. We sat on the balcony enjoyed the darling harbour people watching and received personalised, friendly and accommodating service. Will be back.

Can you believe I have never been to a Hard Rock Café in my life? Me either! I had the pre-conceived notion that it was going to be all 80's and outdated but it was actually kind of cool with loads of great Rock memorabilia around the walls. And the Quadrophenia scooter behind the bar! I also had no idea that The Hard Rock was founded in 1971 or that they support loads of charities or that they were bought out and are now owned by the Seminole Indian tribe... I was literally driven there by shitty weather (it was undercover to walk that way whereas I would have got wet going right towards Cockle Bay) and received an unlikely education. The service was amazing- it could have been a coincidence but I was using the loo in a cubicle and realised there was no paper so asked someone to hand me some under the door. And then as I was washing my hands a staff member came in from outside, went straight to my cubicle and replaced the paper. Listen and learn Other Venues! The waitstaff were also really friendly and obliging- the last thing I expected from a franchise that I thought was going to be another greedy conglomerate. There were loads of girls there inappropriately dressed for the weather- headsup guys!- and a general atmosphere of non-contrived fun. The place is a museum of sorts with stuff like Paul Weller's Jam-era shoes, Johnny Rotten's jacket, a shirt and set-list of Dylan's, and a disgusting cardigan of Michael Jackson's. Had a cheap champers and a nice glass of red and enjoyed looking at all the stuff. Good times!

Really? Is the Hard Rock Cafe still a thing? Perhaps it's been so long that it's come back in fashion. Hell, it was already retro. Either way, there's no doubting this place has overpriced tourist trap written all over it. Which isn't to say it isn't a glossy, well-serviced trap! The staff are super friendly and accommodating, and if you the kitsch rock memorabilia decor is your thing, then sure, head in and knock yourself out. The bar is well stocked and the Darling Harbour views are worth a peek as well. But unless you're plagued with homesick American guests, then avoid eating here. The ribs will be better at Hurricanes (though probably as expensive) and if your hankering for a burger, just head further along Harbourside to Grill'd.

I grew up in the music business and was taken to the London Hard Rock on numerous occasions as it actually used to be frequented by plenty of musicians. Nowadays, it's just a shell of its former rocking glory. Relocating to Darling Harbour hasn't done it any favours in that respect either, except it'll probably get plenty of tourist business during the summer, having been absent from the Sydney-scene having closed down their Crown Street restaurant a few years back. It's basically just your typical American-inspired diner with a musical theme now, although I did enjoy the playlist. I went there to have a casual business meeting - slightly odd choice, but i went with it - and we were in the middle of a chat when our waitress came over and told me to budge up so she could sit next to me. Now I'm all for friendly service, but I draw the line at getting too cosy, especially when I was trying to talk about something important. I went with a Cob Salad (didn't want anything too messy) and was presented with a giant bowl of lettuce and various ingredients. It tasted fine, if not anything to blow me away, but the problem with salad is that it gets a bit tedious after a while, especially the lettuce. The food will always be pretty standard Hard Rock fare, but unfortunately it's just place to go have an expensive burger and buy a T-shirt with a different city name on it, as opposed to a rock music institution.

Walking in, this restaurant is really nice, and a lot bigger than expected! The restaurant has a very modern, well lit vibe. With tons of beer, wine, and cocktails to choose from, this is a solid spot to enjoy happy hour. We came here for dinner, and dang was it good! They specialize in utilizing their rotisserie to slow roast and crisp up juicy chicken, brisket, and porchetta. With lots of sides to choose from, a variety of other appetizers large enough to share, and other main course dishes to try, there is something for everyone here! I highly recommend trying their super crispy porchetta, and their special nachos platter specifically. I would definitely come back again whenever I'm in Sydney, Australia again! We were visiting from Texas, USA, and we were glad we gave this restaurant/bar a try. It's the perfect place to come with friends for a fun happy hour and delightful dinner, enjoy!

Our drinks were out in 3-5 minutes and our food was out within about 5-7 minutes after. As soon as we finished we were given our checks to pay at the front. The iced mocha was good but the iced strawberry matcha was flawless. The strawberries were so fresh and the matcha was just perfect itself. Great combo together! My husband had the free range eggs on toast and I had the eggs Benedict. His was delicious but the eggs Benedict was amazing. The crispy kale really sold me as it was delectable in each bite.
