    side salad

A pleasant surprise on Circular Quay without the high price tag. I ordered a side salad (substantial!) and the Tacchino pizza. Delicious. Add in a pint of beer and it was a great meal with prompt service. Good for singles, couples and small groups. The music could be dialed down a bit...but hey, it's a pub on the wharf in Sydney. Enjoy!

After work, I dropped by here just for quick pizza. My friend ordered a beer and bite my pizza and I ordered my favourite Margherita pizza and a coke. Pizza is smaller than I expected and taste ok. Not really good or not really bad and so so. Outside tables are available. Due to on Tuesday, it wasn't too busy, however, it was quite exciting. Not for us but some guests were doing beer tasting before ordered the beer. I thought it's nice. BTW I do not drink alcohol at all and it was first time for me to visit pub! It was very pleasant experience for me. People said that pub meals are cheep and good! Indeed, I agree with that. Over all, I wouldn't mind coming back here again for trying another pizza, maybe pepperoni pizza next. PS: Classic Pizza $10 Glass of beer $7.50 Glass of coke $4.00

Came here when everything else was closed or closing around 10 after the Melbourne Cup (what??) and it was a good decision. First try of Australian cider and beer and I have to say that I like it! I also had the greek salad which was light on the olives and heavy on the dressing, but overall good (I will say light on the olives until it is too many olives for most people though...) Service was quick at the bar and at the tables with picking up empties. Music was on point and kept playing songs everyone loves from the 90s to now.

I would have to say that this is one of my favourite pubs on Circular Quay. Okay, there aren't that many pubs here (ignoring the Opera Bar because that is at the Opera House) so the competition isn't all that fierce (and considering the other one is The Paragon, the bar is pretty low), however it isn't so much the atmosphere (which is good by the way) but rather the really friendly and helpful staffmember. I had ordered a pot of tea (yes, it does tea and coffee) only to discover that my ferry was leaving really, really, soon, so she very helpfully took me tea, put it into a takeaway cup, and added some sugar as well. With service like that I definitely have to give this place a few stars. Mind you, it does get really, really packed at night (I've always had problems finding a seat) however that isn't much of a problem if you come early enough. This is a place I'd certainly visit again.

    Plentiful Pepperoni & cheese pizza!

A surprising bar in plain sight of Circular Quay. Reasonable priced pints! Yes pints not schooners - only $7 per pint! Thursday nights are 2for1 pizza, & the choice is plentiful. I had the pepperoni & cheese pizza which was spicy & topped full of pepperoni on a thin crispy base. My husband had the chicken delight, which is like a chicken Caesar salad served on a crispy pizza base! Both were served quickly & hot from the oven! Only $15 for 2 pizzas - bargain! Perfect place for a chilled beer & a relaxing chat with mates before going home or onto a wild night out!

    Yummy tomato mozzarella prosciutto breakfast.

Fairly typical pub bar/restaurant. Stopped in for lunch. Decent burger and fries. Close to the ferries and the Rocks.

This place is very relaxing on a weekday night, a nice stop on the way home from work. The food is also tastey!

Really nice food, quick service, but very loud music. Could hardly hear my eating companions.

Being close to where I used to work, I'd frequent this place quite a bit, and before it was a PJs it was a mates fave city pub so we'd catch up over a few here from time to time. There's a pretty good mix of people in the street-level bar, and PJs have converted it into more of a sports bar so there are plenty of screens for the sports nuts to check out their favourite teams prospects. PJs typically have pretty good fare. In winter they have two absolute cracking dishes. The Guiness Pie with mushy peas, and their signature lamb shanks which is totally unctuous. Why such a modest score? Price kills the place. It's not one of the cheaper places to get a beer as someone incorrectly states in their tips, it's easily one of the most expensive places to get a beer. You're paying over the top prices for domestic tap beer. A cheap beer is $5 for a Coopers Pale Ale, which you can get on the same street about 200m up the road... Also... As much as I enjoy a good pokie section, this one ain't good. And by that I mean the clientelle. It brings in the undesireable types, and sours what is otherwise a sweet pub. The snug, the downstairs den, has a great looking bar, and "snug" seating, but it's kinda pointless down there. It doesn't feel snug, it feels stuffy and claustrophobic - and the bar has never been manned when I've been down there. Now, if they moved the pokies to the snug, and then opened up the entire bar at the street-level to include the room vacated by the pokie section, you'd have something. But why would they do that when they can get by with what they have.

Being in the city, it can get quite busy very quickly and is a decently sized basement multi-storied pub. TV screens are usually are usually playing Fox sports or something similar. I order the Parmy, just to be on the the safe side. I wasn't too game to try the Pie which is supposed to be one of the best (as judged by Irish people I work with) around. The food is carefully prepared and you can tell the produce is quality and they've cooked it properly which some pubs sometimes struggle to do consistently... The chips were the standout side, crisp and crunchy! Definitely will be trying the stew or pie, that is if I'm brave enough to.
