Didn't tell me anything about anything, where's the starter, are we early or on time, will the weather hold off? All of which I asked about, but at least I can now walk away from that busted grill and get on with my golf. Then a quick stop in the men's room and the stenches hit me like a ton of poopy bricks and as I spun for the exit holding my breath, I caught glimpses of a bathroom that's not been attended to in days. Cart guy looked so life beaten he could barely lift his chin to notice the $5.00 I tipped him for nothing other than the fact that his tip jar had only enough pennies to almost cover the plastic bottom. Poor guy in more ways than one, I felt terribly for him, not for Milton. The course is short with the one handicap hole being somewhat interesting with a quick turn right to a circular shallow green. The rest of the course was damp and chewed up on the fairways and around the greens with clumps of no grassy spots. Lift, Clean and Place was in play with so much constant muck on my ball and not a rain shower in days. So if your going to play here, just avoid all employees as best as you can and look at it as a day if practice if you get a good deal as I did on GolfNow. It's not the place to get excited about, the bunkers were in decent shape.

Everyone was friendly from the guy who grabbed our clubs in the AM, the guy working in the pro shop checking us in, and the starter (The bunker on hole 1 is not 280 so dont listen to him on that piece ) Only complaint is we didnt see the cart girl until hole 15, but we tee'd off at 7:50 so that happens quite often at alot of courses. Pace: Great. We had to wait a few times but nothing crazy. Finished our round at 4 hours exactly. NOW, 95% of the golfers were 65+... so if youre an outsider thinking you can squeeze a quick 9 or 18 in the mid afternoon, dont go there. Course Conditions/Layout: Conditions were extremely pure, especially around the greens. Bunkers were a little sandy at the top so had to battle some fried eggs but welcome to golf. The layout was actually much more attractive than i assumed it would be. Good variance of challenges and unique carries. Since there are almost zero options in this area for public golf, I would highly recommend this for any travelers. Only can book 3 days in advance so hope for some "bad" weather to scare the oldies away for the day.

Fun to see peeps out swinging their clubs. The clubhouse has good food at very fair prices. Breakfast sandwich was tasty (can the bun be toasted?). A public course they try to keep prices reasonable and have specials and youth programs. Come hit some balls, grab a bite, or go for walk! Or rent a cart and go for a ride!!!! There is also a pro-shop with Bobby Jones gear. Tees. There are plans to tie the nature trail into 17th Street Park and the Legacy Trail. A wildflower area would be wonderful. Forrest Whittaker from IfAS at Twin Lakes Park can help. Also some volunteer days to pull caesar weed and Brazilian pepper along the nature trail would be good. Plant some native wildflowers????

I was told that I had to order through a QR code. I used my phone to pull up the menu and did the best I could to order 4 meals. Technology is not my forte. I ordered each of my grandkids a grilled cheese sandwich with fruit. A Cobb salad for me. Sandwiches came out relatively quickly. They were two thin slices of toast with Kraft American cheese. The fruit was soggy and not fresh. My grandkids finished their meal and I still had not received my Cobb salad. When I asked the server why such a delay, (especially with no one in the restaurant ) he said that I ordered the sandwiches as an appetizer and my Cobb as an entrée. ‍ Again, technology is not my forte. If I wanted to order online or in an app, I could stay home and use DoorDash. There are so many lovely restaurants in the UTC area. Pop Stroke is not one of them. A very distasteful first experience that will most likely be my last.
