My daughter always wanted to try a seafood boil so we came here after the last day of our cruise…read more We had a lot of time to kill before our flight so we took the trolley from the aquarium stop. We were the first customers and the inside is small but clean and cozy. Staff was friendly. We ordered the snow crab feast and a calamari appetizer. The calamari was ok it wasn't seasoned. The snow crab feast came with coleslaw, corn, potatoes, and 4 pieces of crab leg sections. It was good but not great, the pieces didn't come out of the shell very easily and the pieces we did get out were pretty small, but we enjoyed the flavor and the experience very much.

We weren't too crazy because the fried are coated and the hush puppies were way over cooked with a weird batter/dough that reminded mea lot of an undercooked corn bread. Yes, the dark brown spheres on the bottom of the plate were hushpuppies. Service was excellent with the waiter checking in on us and refilling drinks. That might have been easier because we were late in coming in for lunch, so it wasn't really crowded. I imagine that during a busy dinner service, it's probably pretty loud, but here it was just a nice quite cafe feel. The big takeaway - the seafood was excellent. It was fresh, hot, well cooked. But the sides seem to fall down, nothing except the slaw was something I want again. So come for the seafood, but lower your expectations for the slaw.

Adding another spot to our ever-growing list of reasons we love living in Tampa! Driftlight is such…read morea good pick whether you want an elevated dinner, great cocktails or ultra-premium cuts of meat. A hidden gem for sure! We had quite a bit of the menu and it was delicious. The staff was attentive, super friendly and helpful. I loved the elevated atmosphere and open kitchen. I recently dined at Driftlight Steakhouse with high expectations given the restaurant's reputation…read morefor premium steaks and elevated dining experiences. Unfortunately, my experience fell far short of those expectations. I ordered the 18-ounce Dry Aged Bone-In Ribeye, priced at approximately $100, expecting a high-quality cut worthy of the restaurant's reputation. Instead, the steak was overwhelmingly fatty, with what appeared to be roughly 75% of the cut consisting of fat, gristle, and inedible portions. After removing the unusable sections, there was very little actual meat left to enjoy. When I raised my concerns, the response was disappointing. The server simply stated that he would "let the chef know." The only accommodation offered was a complimentary salad valued at approximately $15. Considering the quality issue with a $100 entrée, this response felt inadequate and failed to demonstrate any meaningful commitment to guest satisfaction. By the end of the meal, our bill approached $300, yet I left still hungry and feeling that I had received very poor value for the money spent. When dining at a restaurant that markets itself as a destination for exceptional steaks, customers should reasonably expect both quality ingredients and responsive service when something goes wrong. Unfortunately, neither expectation was met during my visit. While the atmosphere and setting may be appealing, the overall experience did not justify the cost. I will not be returning, and I will be sharing my experience with friends, family, and others who ask for steakhouse recommendations. I sincerely hope management takes guest concerns more seriously in the future and ensures that premium-priced menu items consistently meet the standards they advertise.

I have been so excited to try this place, and was so disappointed by the service today…read more I made a reservation for the "chefs counter" and when I arrived was told that the air-conditioning was out I probably didn't wanna sit back there. So I sat at the bar outside, which was fine, except for the fact that the Bartender was overwhelmed and as a result The service was horrible. They have a happy hour menu, but I chose not to order off of it and I ordered the regular shrimp cocktail which came on a plate and each of the shrimp were cut in half? I ordered West Coast oysters and they were warm at Best even though they were on ice, which made me leery to eat them. Based on the fact that I didn't eat the oysters and the shrimp were meh at Best I would've liked to have ordered something else, but was never given the opportunity to. By the time, the Bartender finally came back around and I asked about the taco of the day on the happy hour menu. She informed me the happy hour was over. I ordered a cocktail and the Bartender told me it came in a can, which seemed odd and then she said no wait that's a beer. If you want to go and try it at your own risk, I would not go on Sunday,

Nothing like catching the breeze on a nice day and enjoying some happy hour specials on 7th Ave in Ybor. This spot is a great addition to the area offering a twist compared to what is currently available in the area. Hoping to try the flatbread on my next visit!
