Best customer service in the area I wouldn't go anywhere…read moreelse! Great selection for anything garden, animal and clothing you would think of!

You tell me - One star or two?…read more I didn't receive any service, even though they are open until 7:00 PM. I pulled up to the propane station at 6:42 PM. Unloaded my two propane tanks to be filled. After waiting three minutes when it was clear no one was going to help me, I decided to call, rather than load everything back up and go inside. I asked if anyone was working the propane station. 'No, Propane is closed,' she said. 'But you're open until 7. When did propane close?', I asked. 'At 6:45,' she said. 'Just now.' That's customer service for you at the Oak Harbor Country Store. Whoever was filling propane today wasn't around at 6:42, 6:43, 6:44, or 6:45, so it's closed. How convenient. By the way, there isn't ANY sign or other markings indicating that 'Propane closes at 6:45'. And if it were truly closed, why isn't the propane station locked up? Why is it possible for someone - at 6:56 PM - to just walk up and snap the photo I've attached? Propane is so heavily monitored and regulated. Certainly this is a safety hazard to leave the propane station unattended like this? It's now 7:03 PM. The propane station is still open; nothing is locked up. A woman from inside just came out and asked if I was hoping to get propane. I said, 'Yes.' She said, 'We're closed. You'll have to come back tomorrow.' I replied, 'Then you might want to lock all that up. It's a safety hazard.' I pointed to the propane station. She called someone to come lock it up. It's 7:07 PM now. Still unattended; still wide open. It's been unattended, wide open, unlocked for at least 25 consecutive minutes now. They call it Joke Harbor, for a reason, people.

The people here are fantastic. I can't say enough good things about them. My first experience here…read morewas a year ago when I lived to the island. The military movers destroyed my washing machine and I was able to get a new one in no time at a great price. They helped me load it into my truck and I was on my way. Today was my second time visiting the store and again, I was blown away by the service and gratitude. My dryer died on me and I was in a real bind with sick kids at home trying to get through this COVID business. I was more than taken care of and I couldn't me more appreciative. Thank you so much; you made my family's day! And what's more...no more laundromat!

This store is a perfect example of why locally run places are so important in a community. We were…read moreon a mission to find a good capacity refrigerator this weekend. We tried the nex and Home Depot first, only to be told they have zero stock, and HD could not deliver for at least a week, up to three! Since we really wanted it soon, we left. We stopped in for our first time at the new location of the Sears hometown store, and immediately noticed the selection, while the display was a little smaller than HD, actually had stock available. We chose a great one, almost identical to the one we wanted at HD that wasn't available, for $200+ less!! In addition, they were able to deliver in a day's time. Speaking to the sales associate / manager was a pleasure, she was informative and helpful while also leaving us in privacy to make decisions. We chose to pick our new fridge up after borrowing a truck. As soon as we pulled up in the truck, Nicole, the manager brought our purchase right outside to us (new in the box) and helped load it right onto our truck herself!. Amazing service! Thanks Oak Harbor Sears!!

It's Sunday, several structural hangers holding my deck together have rusted through and I've…read morepromised some friends a party on Tuesday. Where am I going to get the parts I need? I have always been impressed with the variety of materials at this little store, especially when it comes to the most critical items for island residents (eg: stainless street bolts/screws/cabling hardware, etc.), but structural hangers? Yep! Once again variety rivaling the huge box stores. (Actually way, way better stainless inventory.) This time I had the good luck of being helped by Richard. He knew right where everything was, how to use it and stayed with me until I had my complete shopping list. He understands his business and someone there (is it also Richard?) does an amazing job of straightening out the inventory that customers put back in the wrong place. His help was especially appreciated because he caught a mislabeled box of stainless screws that I didn't catch. It would have ruined my whole day if I'd gone home with the wrong thing. Thank you, Richard! And Ace!

This review is for the semi newly opened Ace outdoor store. Fantastic idea by the way. The best…read morepart is they stock Big Green Egg products. That saves me time since it's so close. They have Stihl and Husqvarna equipment, Weber products and many others. Prices are competitive from what I have seen at other stores. I know the BGE charcoal is a couple bucks higher but the convenience of being so close makes that a non issue. The employees are knowledgeable even though they are mostly younger. Their enthusiasm is high and they will help you out. I usually know what I need but since I'm a "Northwest Man" (via California) I usually gravitate toward the chainsaw section. I know. I can't help it though. Since I have a perfectly operating saw at home that keeps me from buying another but a guy can't have too many chainsaws right? Until that grand day arrives I will mostly stick to buying my BGE supplies. They sell the actual BGE ceramic cookers too. Prominently displayed as well. They call me in like the Sirens on a distant rocky shore.......
