Haven't been able to confirm whether they're locally owned or not. I've been in a few times before reviewing, once just to check it out (as it appears lots of folks are doing - foot traffic has been fairly heavy for a small town, smallish footprint shop), twice to pick up items on my way home from my office, and once to take advantage of their BOGO interior Valspar paint deal (available until 3/21!) For a smallish, though typical Ace-sized store, they cover the basics well. I've found what I needed for minor electrical repairs, heavy duty cleaning products, a couple of replacement fasteners, odd-shaped light bulbs, and a couple of yard cleanup tools. They are definitely in "opening" mode, with staff still training, but what they may lack in know-how, they make up for in friendliness and trying to provide a level of customer service you don't get elsewhere. I've watched them take their time to talk to customers about their specific needs and make product recommendations, as well as reminding folks buying, say, paint, to take a look at specific areas for project accessories. I appreciate their help not forgetting the little things that make home improvement projects turn out better, quicker, or less messy. Store is well-organized, new, and all of my items have had shelf prices that matched their scanned price, including no problems with special offers or Ace coupons. On the downside, not affecting my rating, but just a general warning: while the location is convenient for those who live in Etown city limits, there's no avoiding the terrible drivers that seem to plague this particular strip mall. The number of times I've watched drivers nearly plow into for-sale items on the walkway or stored (like mulch) in fenced areas of the parking lot is only matched by the number of times I've watched drivers nearly plow into actual human beings or other cars. Most of the lot "signage" (lines, and directional markings included) is only on asphalt and very faded, but that's no excuse for drivers who are completely oblivious to others, right of way, or how the properties of basic physics function on planet Earth.

Several great clearance buys. Mixed paint always comes out correctly. For the most part you can usually find an employee to help you. The other red light is close to sam's and much harder to get out of there!

A fully functional trencher of that size should get a minimum of one foot a minute. Called HD and they said they'd call me back. I missed the call back and they left a voicemail explaining that I could bring it back for a refund. That was 5:17PM my time. I live 1.5 hour away. I brought it back the next day. They refused to refund simply because the machine started up. I spent the next 4 days calling. THREE DIFFERENT MANAGERS told me they would call me back and all three failed. Every manager refused to listen to the voicemail unless I would drive the 1.5 hour back and let them hear it. I finally got through to Brenda, who must just be impotent because all she did was give me back $58- but only if I would make the drive all the back again to get it. This place is a joke, They rented me defective equipment and kept my $358. They just don't care at all about the customer experience.
