This Harbor Freight location rocked! I was at the Florida City location a day earlier. FL City didn't have any more plastic shelving units and sent me further north to Cutler Bay. Wow! They had at least a dozen units in stock. Should have come here originally. I had my receipt from the previous day's purchase and commented I should have joined their club ($29.99) and I would have saved money. The cashier said "I can make that happen!" I ended up with a free year's membership AND saved $12! Great employee! I am amidst a small home project, a result of Hurricane Ian's storm surge. Harbor Freight has exactly the plastic shelving units I need (Made in USA) to reorganize my storage areas - at a fraction of the price of those at HomeDepot and Lowe's - and the same quality. Why 5 Stars you might ask? Harbor Freight is cheap tools pure & simple. Is most of the stuff cheap? Yes. Is most of the stuff cheaply made? No. If you know anything about tools, then you know what to buy & what not to buy from HF. I'm a DIY type of person & a lot of my tools are from this store. They sell a little bit of everything from Wrenches, Sockets, Zip Ties, Hammers, Tarps, Floor Jacks, Welding Helmets, Flashlights, Dolly's, Safety Gear, Painting Supplies, Air Compressors, Tool Chests, Pet Beds, Car Wash Supplies, Garden Hose Attachments, Lawn Tools, etc. As if the prices weren't already cheap, you can usually score a 20% off one item coupon online or in the Sunday newspaper. They often run free gift w/ purchase coupons also. For the most part, any tools without a motor or too many moving parts I can recommend. I'd be weary of torque wrenches or machinery, but even then they offer warranty so the risk is quite low. If you are a DIY type, or simply want a few basic tools for the house, this is your place to stock up on tools at an affordable price point. read more

I bought a Chicago electric power tool, with variable speed Rotary tool kit, 30 assessor included. I also bought a rotary Diamond cutting disc for 5.99 dollars. The five-diamond disc do not fit in any of the accessories of the PowerTool. The instruction booklet is inadequate, I strongly suggest that you do not buy this tool, which is designed to perform like the Dremel. What really sucks, is the store employee sold me the rotary diamond cutting disc and said that they would work. NOTE notice the name" diamond cutting disc" misleading! The nut that holds the accessories is undersized and will not allow for any accessories to attach, a design flaw. I would give Harbor Freight Tools a negative 10. I am heading back to return the fake tool!!! read more

I've lived right around the corner and never even knew that this place existed. Someone at my local motorcycle shop told me about this place because I needed a specific tool and they mentioned I could get it at Harbor Freight for really cheap. This place is a bit of a cluster-f*ck but it certainly is cheap. They didn't have the tool on the shelf that I needed (a breaker bar...just fyi), so one of the ladies that works there checked the computer and she said it shows that they have some but they're probably in the back amongst a mass of boxes and chances are that they wouldn't be able to find it. She sent someone to look for it anyway, and sure enough the guy came back a while later and said he couldn't find it. I ended up buying a different breaker bar that was a different size and had to buy a whole new set of sockets for it because the sockets I have at home wouldn't fit. All in all, it was still pretty cheap, just more than I wanted to spend. If you're someone looking to build your tool set but don't have a lot of money to spend at places like Home Depot or Lowes, then Harbor Freight is the place to go...just don't expect to find everything you're looking for the first time you go. read more

Well, I shopped here for the first time this past weekend. I noticed their prices tend to be higher than Home Depot, although they had a very inexpensive low price leader, namely a $0.99 pair of nice gloves. A clever marketing tactic to draw in customers, some of which will purchase additional items at regular price. The store had several customers browsing throughout the aisles, including myself. A very small retail establishment by Home Depot standards, but with a surprisingly wide selection. In any event, this particular location was not so busy. In fact , by the time I reached the spacious pre- checkout area, I counted only 1 customer in spite of several open lanes with cashiers. As I paused to scan for facial clues as to which cashier might be the most amicable, the gentleman at the last cash register boisterously called out, "Next customer". Since he had just finished checking out the only other client in the front end of the whole store, he seemed to fit the bill quite well. But as I approached closer to his lane, a heavy set lady stopped me with a firm voice of authority. She pointed behind me and barked, " The line is over there!" Bewildered and somewhat taken aback, I turned around, hesitantly, retracing my steps slowly, while visually scanning for a sign or indication of a queue. But there was nothing, not even another customer behind me, or anywhere in the large pre-checkout area for that matter. So I turned around again towards the registers to proceed to checkout with my single pair of gloves, wondering to myself why this lady is misdirecting me away from the cashier checkout lanes. And low and behold, as soon as I took a step or two towards the registers, she repeated the same command. At this point, I'm thinking and asking myself more questions: 1) Is this lady playing games? 2) Perhaps she is being sarcastic? 3)She clearly has made an error in judgement? 4) Maybe she is a new employee? Finally, I just shrugged my shoulders and raised both palms to the ceiling in a show of disbelief. I then, now very curious and eager for answers, approached this puzzling lady. I made certain at this time, looking all around the front end of the store...and yes indeed, I was still the only customer anywhere near a register? Thank God I was taking my sweet time, in no hurry whatsoever. After all, my wife was shopping at the Ross in the same plaza, which meant I had loads of time on my hands. So at last, I greet the lady cashier, quizzing her in disgust at this point, already. I was shocked to discover that her nametag stated that she was the supervisor/manager on duty?!?! She politely explained that all the customers form at the beginning of a particular aisle, immediately before the pre-checkout area. To which I replied, "I'm a first time customer so how would I know?" Unlike the vast majority of stores I've shopped at, right alongside my wife usually, this store does not bother to utilize any kind of indication as to where the queue is supposed to form. I was already visibly upset, more than enough to distract me to select "Decline" instead of "Accept" as the credit card readout asked me to confirm the total bill. I was intending to take the lousy customer service matter up with the manager...that is until I discovered that SHE WAS THE MANAGER. Wow, what a disgrace. This is the kind of customer service example you set for your employees? What type of supervisor leads their customers away from the pont of sale? And how many cashiers does it take to checkout one customer with only one item? Well, shockingly, at this store, it takes several employees and a manager, albeit in an inefficient, slow process. And how difficult would it be for several idle employees to post a sign to indicate where the client queue begins? And if I may ask one last question, directed to Harbor Freight Tools Corporate Office. Does your company actually ever train your store managers on how to properly handle and treat customers? read more

I was calling and shopping around for a strut for a dolley I have here at my job. First person to answer, she thought she knew what I was talking about, no problem not everyone knows everything. I was on hold for a decent 15 minutes then second person answers the phone almost bothered or stressed from the sound of her voice, I ask her if they have replacement struts for a dolley and she said no we don't know everything so I repeated to make sure, cause she was to quick to answer right when I was almost done talking, she tells me we don't have it. Im sorry but that was rude I work postion deals with customer service for rent a wheel also I'm an installer and never have I spoken to a customer like that because customers have needs and wants and need to be educated at times honestly if she doesn't like her job she can find somewhere else to go where doesn't have to deal with customers. read more

This isn't the best Harbor Freight I've been to, but it's not terrible. The biggest disappointment is that it's difficult to get help here if you don't know where to find something. The always seem understaffed. I don't comment on the quality of HF tools because I'm an occasional diy-er and their tools get the job done for me w/o problems. If I was more in the industrial field I'd obviously invest more in my tools and crafts. read more

You know when things are to good to be true, when you run into companies like this one. Harbor Freight sell's cheap tool, that one can use for every occasion, and it is true the guy with the most tools win, although some think the guy who's the biggest tool win's, he usually gets into a bar fight because of his big tool personality and get's arrested. So, Harbor Freight will send you on your way to cheap big tool collection. So you might think. There are some big tools there, yes it's a double entendre, not to worry, those big tools are too stupid to figure out what a double entendre is, so right now there not insulted. I had only gone there, because I purchased a portable pick up crane lift on line. It was easy, simple (so I thought), and I didn't have to schlep out to Cutler Ridge to pick it up. When my item did arrive, alas it was missing the most important part, the base. So once again I called the customer service,and this is where there competence came into question. I was becoming frustrated talking them through it, but my customer service rep, who's name escapes me because it had thirteen vowels and 27 consonants in it. and here's a hit most likely eats wonderful Indian food daily, but shame on companies who outsource. He finally said we don't have that part in stock it will take 6 to 8 weeks to order. All I can think is why did I do this......scumbag company. But, then my customer service friend said why not take it to the nearest Harbor Freight the'll replace it. Great idea, I chose to do that instead of waiting the 6 to 8 weeks. Arriving at Harbor Freight, I had a premonition that the manager would be a jerk, they wouldn't replace it, and my 6 to 8 week waiting period would have to start today. But, what transpired was almost correct, the manager's attitude was that of FU don't bother me. Oh by the way Harbor Freight failed to ship me a receipt with the box. I suggested he call Harbor Freight HQ and with my name they could track down both as I had done. My new manager friend said why don'y you call them. This was not going well. Harbor Freight sells me junk, and wants me to just sit on it, until when! I contact Harbor Freight on the trusty cell, and they give me the receipt number, and try to give it to the manager, He'll have none of that. Then my happy manager places one of his large employees to hover over me, as I guess he know's his customers. I spoke to customer service again on the cell, and I realized not only was the Cutler Ridge store inept and led incompetently , but I gather all Harbor Freight hires geniuses. What happened to the customer is always right. Now it the customer needs to weight for us. I was told be Harbor Freight that it will take 24 to 48 hrs to E-mail me a receipt. How F#$%ing ridiculous, this is no way to run a business. Well, I'll weight for my cheap chinese item, I won't do business with them again. read more
