    Bloody paw
    Erick P.

It saddens me that I have to write this but it was unacceptable. I've been taking my dog here for 10+ years and today I received my dog with a bloody paw. Whether his nails was cut too short or a slice cut in his paws, no one told me about it until I got in the car and realized my dog was bleeding. Christopher (the groomer), I've expected more professionalism from you. To Happy Paws who strive to make their clients happy, you failed today. To all clients using this service, please check your dogs before you leave the place. The panic of seeing your beloved dog in pain is something I wouldn't wish on no one.

I took my dog to happy paws for a nail trim . Didn't notice he was bleeding til we got home so I called and complain , the lady in front desk told me it was normal . It's not my dog's first nail trim experience and I know for sure this was not normal ! I would be fine if they confess to me from the beginning and apologize but they didn't ! One of they nail looks like it's not even trim at all ! Didn't expect a professional groomer would make that happen , I could have done better than her . Never taking my dog there again !

Not sure what has happened to this place. I have had my cat groomed with a lion cut here a few times and it came out great. Today, after providing a reference picture of my cat to the groomer and discussing it--he even asked me to text it to him--it came out totally botched. The mane was taken off entirely! I called to see what happened. The manager admitted that the cut didn't look at all like the reference picture but didn't offer any way to make it right, no refund or discount off future service - nothing. he said the service was done and it was just a matter of preference. He said he's gotten bad haircuts in the past and doesn't expect any discount or money back when that happens. I know mistakes happen, but there was no accountability whatsoever. You can look at the pics and be the judge.

Updated review- my last review was 3 years ago so I wanted to add that Victor the groomer at Happy Paws continues to beautiful groom our 5 year old Goldendoodle (Pooka) as well as our 10 year old Malti-poo (Pippa). Victor always asks what kind of cut we are looking for & he LISTENS! Both dogs leave looking like they are ready for a magazine fashion shoot!

perfectly shaped paw, just like a stuffed animal

Lydia made my golden retriever's feathers look soft and fresh. He's been so soft to the touch for three days now. We were pleasantly surprised from the start, as instead of acting scared and nervous of being left in a new place, Waffles immediately followed her into the grooming area. She called him a sweetheart and gave him the love and attention we know he deserves.

My dogs whole paw pad is peeling from the clipper cut or scissors. Horrible horrible place.

Happy Paws is more like Bleeding Paws! Noticed after 2 days my poor dog, after a grooming here, had severe damage to his front paws! I first felt 2 deep cut lines with my hands, which I assume are from the grooming clippers. It got worse so I had to take him to the vet, and that's when I was informed from the Vet what this was. Do not take your babies here!

I am willing to pay the tunnel toll to bring my dog here. That's how much I recommend this place to anyone who does not know where they can trust their dog to stay if needed. I've been coming to Happy Paws for years and highly recommend bringing in your dog to stay for boarding or daycare and also for grooming services. The front desk staff is always so friendly and very organized. I do think that the products they stock are fairly reasonably priced but I prefer to go to other locations for food, toys, etc. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that they have webcams for their doggie daycare. AND they have separate play areas for small and larger dogs. When I'm away and my pup stays here I can always keep my mind at peace by checking up on her via web cam access. There is always a staff member in each of the play areas which is also a plus watching the dogs play and to keep the areas clean. They are quick to clean up any doggie messes that happen (I've seen it via web cam!) If your dog stays for more than 5 days they give your dog a complimentary bath on the day you pick-up your pup. ANOTHER PLUS! Overall I couldn't ask for a better place to trust with my Momo pups. Thanks Happy Paws!

My pup Cinnamon Coco would not be as beautiful as she is if it wasn't for Erica. She does an exceptional job and I am always happy with the service.

I had not gone here before but Im glad I did. Victor groomed my baby gurl Lucy for the first time and what a great job. She came back to me nice and fast and squeaky clean a big fluff ball. Shes usually very scared and hates grooming. Im her emotional support human LOL for her anxiety. Thanks Victor and the gals at the front desk. Ive found my new groomer for my toy poodle. Poodles are not easy to groom they take time and my sweet girl looked like a million bucks when I picked her up. She was calm relaxed and if she could speak she would say thanks mom for my mini spa day.

All smiles after a wonderful haircut and bath with Lydia!

The white cashier thought I was stealing a treat because I was giving my dog the treats that were outside for free. Rude staff overall.

In addition, the webcam for the small dog play area let us watch him play all day and be assured that he was doing ok.

I love the location as well- right near the park and pier if you wanted to just hang out there while you wait. They don't crate the dogs when they are not grooming them - so all the dogs just hang out on the floor which I thought was pretty cute.

It's hard to take him for walks in the direction of Wag Club because he would stop at a corner 3 blocks away and not budge. Though this review is less about the dog and more about how Wag Club is doubly great for the humans behind the dog. Grooming::: Marta is wonderful. She's always attentive in grooming Zorba. She sometimes even does some last minute adjustments as I'm picking him up. Great attention to detail. There was some miscommunication regarding payment a while ago- John and the team provided clear communication and we were able to come to a resolution. Customer service was excellent. (Side note: They're quick with emails too.) Training::: Zorba did an agility training class with Rob (Dogboy) who is amazing. He's passionate about dogs, is a strong enforcer of positive reinforcement training, and is helpful around other behavior issues that your dog may be having. Daycare::: Everyone is so friendly and personable. Molly, James, Stephanie, Laura, etc. It feels like a community/family, which is nice to experience when I'm dropping off a beloved family member. Zorba has been going there for 7 or 8 months now, and I was surprised at how quickly they became familiar with him - even to recognizing him in the street. Zorba had an injury at one point (not from WC) and they were understanding and flexible with our daycare schedule. The facility is spacious by NYC standards and the space is always clean. They're responsible, reliable, fun, and I know I can always trust them to take care of my dog to the best of their ability. I once got out of a cab with Zorba and lost my grip on the leash. I panicked for a moment but then he ran right towards Wag Club and sat in front of the door. Doh. Stephanie took great care of him while I went back to the cab to get my things. Look how happy Zorba is to receive a treat! Of course, they always have him sit before he receives anything.
