My experience at the Happy Lemon inside Ben Thanh Plaza was a bit of a mixed bag. On the bright side, the drinks were delicious--our boba was exactly what we were craving. However, the pickup system was a little annoying. Here's what happened: When an order is ready, the girl just shout out the name of the food or drink then number, her voice was super soft too. They don't call out the customer's name, or verify when someone pick up the order which leads to confusion if multiple people ordered the same item. In our case, someone mistakenly took our waffle , thinking it was theirs. There was no verification, no check-and-balance system, and the result was us having to go back to the counter, explain the situation, and wait for our order to be remade. To make things worse, the place wasn't even busy, so this mix-up shouldn't have happened. If they simply called out the customer's name or confirm order during pick up this could have been avoided. It's such a small change that would make a huge difference in the customer experience. I hope they address this order pick up issue. read more

Trying to locate the bathroom key is fun sometimes. The decor is lovely, and it's in Ben Thanh Plaza which has to be one of the best places in DFW, by a mile. Forget Cowboys stadium (except maybe for the Cheerleaders), this is the heart of ATX (that's Arlington for those who were wondering, we don't do state capitals here). A nice story about this location is that we were thinking of driving to view the eclipse. At the last minute, we decided to hurry from Houston up to DFW to see it. We arrived maybe 10 minutes before it was due, and the land was already turning dark - as if it were dusk. We didn't think we'd love it, but as it turned out, it was one of the most amazing things we ever saw. We witnessed the whole thing here, at Ben Thanh, and then washed the eclipse down with drinks from Happy Lemon. Just for a few minutes, the lemon was completely covered and in the dark, obscured from view. Sort of like censorship on a hub website. Although if the aforementioned Cheerleaders did come here, I'd be a very happy lemon. They all have impressive lemons that make me very happy, and I'm dyslexic sometimes. read more

I love Happy Lemon. It's my favorite bubble tea franchise. This particular store was clean and well-lit. I tried a new tea and asked the employee what lychee tasted like and how sweet it was. She wasn't sure how to answer but told me I could change the sweetness of the drink to my preference. I usually get 50% sugar and this one was very tart! I loved it. You get a big hit of bitter and sour and then an aftertaste of the sweet jellies. read more

I am super excited to see another Happy Lemon location open up. This location is pretty spacious and located within the Ben Thanh plaza. The workers were friendly and helpful! I went during grand opening, which was buy one get one free. My favorites were the Oreo Milk Tea with Tiramisu Salted Cheese and the Dragon Fruit Lychee Juice with Salted Cheese. The Oreo Milk Tea had a strong, robust tea taste, and was the perfect amount of sweetness for me (I ordered 100%). The Dragon Fruit Lychee Juice with Salted Cheese sounded like an interesting flavor combination, but it was refreshing and the salted cheese wasn't overpowering. The Strawberry Shortcake smoothie had a fresh strawberry flavor with a nice texture, but I wish it was a little sweeter. read more

This is a cute little shop with lots of options and bubble waffles for a post-dinner dessert. There's not too much seating, about 4 tables, but it wasn't crowded when we went by. We tried the mango matcha smoothie, taro milk tea, hokkaido milk tea, and mango green tea. All of them were pretty good and the boba was chewy (in a good way)! Only complaint is that it feels slightly overpriced compared to other boba shops. The hokkaido milk tea with boba came out to close to $7.50 after tax. But, I would want to come again and try other flavors! read more

Waffles are so good! Tastes like a not too sweet mochi donut with a yummy dipping sauce. Salted sweet creek cheese dip is better than the taro dip. Pricey but yummy for a nice treat splurge.
