Food was decent. Staff was very friendly. Clean inside too! We played a game of mini golf after and that was tons of fun.

The taco pizza is the best! We love Happy Joe's and usually go on Monday or Tuesday for the family night special.

Boring pizza that is overpriced. The crust has zero flavoring and the sauce seemed non-existent.

My grandfather was the CEO of a dairy co-op, so we've grown up with more dairy than most! When he…read moretold us this was the spot for ice cream (because they use a milk with another fat content), we were hooked. That was 20 years ago! Every time we make a pilgrimage back to Iowa, Whiteys is a stop we make! The vibe here is so relaxed and they maintain it while being busy. The folks are super friendly and keep everything moving while there. They've got just short of a bajillion flavors - including Sergeant Camo, a brown butter cookie dough, and season flavors like blueberry cheesecake and John Deere classic - it's all next level good and very affordable. The split mini scoop is something like $3.50 (I think the total for 5 of us was $21) and the combo options are endless. Do yourself a solid and check out Whiteys Ice cream wherever you are! It's worth it!

First, if you've never had Whitey's, you should go try it…read more I worked at this Whitey's during high school and some breaks during college. Of course I had to visit when I was back in town. The flavors are still consistent with what they've always been but they have added some new items. I thought it was interesting that I received my one dip in a cup that used to be used for two dips and the two dip was in the larger cup. I guess that's a change! But with the ever increasing prices it was nice to think I got a little more than I used to. I also noticed that there was no more yogurt? It was never that popular so not too surprising. This was a great place to work, I appreciated the order, cleanliness, and high expectations. You could always keep busy with it being a popular business. Customers were typically happy because it's ice cream. You also bulked up that forearm muscle. Tips: - there is a secret menu (cinnamon toast crunch shake, blueberry pie shake, and others I've forgotten) - you can only go wrong if you order Black Walnut, other flavors are all pretty good. My favorites were Swiss Almond Chocolate and White Chocolate Raspberry if you're looking to try something new - tips are accepted (I didn't go in so not sure if they updated the pay thing to ask if you want to tip) but never necessary. They always make my day when I got one.

The ice cream was always good, but while back in the QC visiting family this weekend, my partner informed me that I hadn't had -real- Whitey's yet. Challenge accepted. A bright light shining on an otherwise quiet street at this time on a Sunday night, I was ready to get down with some really solidly good ice cream from some of the masters themselves. The staff was friendly, attentive, and good spirited. They had lovely holiday decorations (couldn't resist snapping a quick photo) and a huge case full of ready made ice cream cakes and hand packed pints. I went for a scoop of butter pecan with a scoop of chocolate chip cookie dough (fun fact, Whitey's claims to be the originator of cookie dough ice cream) in a fresh waffle bowl. The butter pecan was...I'm just gonna say it, LIKE BUTTER. The balance of the sweetness of the ice cream with the texture of pecans was *chefs kiss*. My partner got a vanilla malt which was thick, rich, and a steal at twice the price. All in all, I feel like I've had a more authentic Midwestern ice cream experience and I owe it all to the bright light at the end of the ice cream bar.

They need to do something about their stale cones. I couldn't tell you the last time I had a fresh…read morecone from here and we are there at least 3 times a week. Country Style always has fresh cones.
