I've been a fan of Happy Joe's and their taco pizza for decades now, and this restaurant is pretty much the same as the rest. They've got a large seating area, several private and semi-private party rooms, and a game room for the kids. The staff were very friendly, and our to-go pizza was ready inside of ten or fifteen minutes. The crust wasn't as good as I remembered, but the toppings were plentiful and very fresh.

I think I inadvertently ran into a Chuck y Cheese replica in Grand Forks, ND. I was driving around looking for a non-chain restaurant that I hadn't been to. A pizza place sounded good, because I wasn't overly hungry and could take it part of it home. On the in side it looked like any other pizza joint with wood paneling, etc, but as I approached the front counter, there was an ice cream bar and a prize room stocked with trinkets, similar to Main Event. The lady at the counter was friendly and gave suggestions as requested. I did find $13 for a small pizza a little pricey. They had an LJ size that was $5.45 to 5.75. I decided to get wings and a pizza. The boneless wings = 8 or bone-in =10 for $7.25. You can get them in 7 different flavors but one 1 or 2 can be used for each order. I chose Garlic BBQ and Sweet chili. It comes with Ranch or Blue Cheese in a packet. Both were decent, but I was expecting sweet chili to be spicy. I am in North Dakota, so I shouldn't be shocked. As for the pizza, I got the Taco Joes which seemed to be the popular choice. It was like eating nachos on pizza. It tastes much better with the taco sauce packets. At the counter was a touchpad that you enter your phone number and get free ice cream. It also states that after 9 meals, the 10th buffet is free. There were 7-8 choices of ice cream, consisting of Bubble gum, cookies and cream, mint chocolate, cookie dough, strawberry, sea salt caramel and a couple of other flavors that I don't remember. I got the cookies and cream in a cone and I enjoyed it even though the temperature was -13 degrees F. There were 3 party rooms and one game room to obtain tickets to redeem for prizes in the prize room listed above. They also give a 10% military discount.

This is my pizza in the box. Burnt pieces and all. It will be awhile before I go back.

We tried the Classic, Bloody Pickle Rickle, Golden Pickle, Pink Fluffy Unicorn, and several other unique flavors -- each one was interesting and delicious in its own way. The service was outstanding -- friendly, attentive, and impressively efficient even with our large group of 11 people. We also ordered a couple of pizzas, and they disappeared almost immediately because they were that good! One of the best surprises was the back area with old-school pinball machines and a claw machine, which was a huge hit with the kids in our group. We even got lucky and won a few prizes! The whole atmosphere was fun, welcoming, and full of energy. It's easy to see why Half Brothers is such a beloved local hangout spot!

Here I am close to the Canadien border and there is one legitimate brewery close to town. Beer was good and food a bit underwhelming. Had the WC and Hazy IPAs. Both were good with the Hazy outshining the WC. They have a pickle beer which a lot of the locals kept ordering. I didn't try it but it's probably worth a sample. Really only pizza for sustainable food with a for appetizers to go with it. Special for the day was a slice, which was generous, and a beer for $10. The pizza was ok, crust a little doughy for my liking, need to make a decision if it's NY or not. Great stop when in ND, especially if you like craft beer. They had some guest taps as well as their own. If looking for food ok choice, but probably better in town.

They don't mention specials or happy hour, we as customers should not have to ask and when we do, staff should know them. The lighting is way too dark at night especially by the booths, can't even read the menus. Lighting needs improvement, also add TVs by the booths. Prices are still decent, but 2 pies, a side and few drinks shouldn't be $90 with a special discount applied, can get more for same or less elsewhere. Servers should be cleaning tables as we sit, bringing proper utensils, napkins and did they get rid of the pizza holders to make room at tables? Also bring back Wine for us Women.

The flavor combinations are awesome and the crust is delicious. The meatball pizza, the most "traditional" pizza we tried, had a delicious red sauce and the meatballs are great. The Schnitzengiggles Pizza has Bechamel, Canadian bacon, bacon, kraut, 1000 Island. Served with a little char on it. My favorite part is the kraut...I wish it had more!! The General Tso Pizza comes with general tso sauce / garlic chicken / red onion / broccoli / cilantro / shredded carrots / sweet chili / sesame seeds. The pizza has a nice sauce but I was expecting chunks of chicken. Lastly, but not least, was the Tiki-za pizza which has red sauce, smoked chicken, pineapple, jalapeno, sweet chili, peppers, cilantro. Served with a little char on it. Honestly, it is hard to choose a favorite but I liked the TikiZa the best followed by the meatball. Honestly, they're all great. I also got the People Eater drink which was a sour . I don't particularly like sweet drinks so this was great.

Not impressed! I never have written a negative review after 46 trips around the sun. That is how…read morebent out of shape I am over this! Deek's has been my wife's favorite for as long as I remember and we've both been buying pizza there since the late 90's. Opening a big old XXL pizza at 2 or 3 in the morning and seeing those square slices as the smell of melted mozzarella and perfect crust is so satisfying! Times are tough all over and money is tight for so many and Deek's has always kept their prices reasonable so on the rare occasion we are able to go out, or order pickup/delivery it's a good bet that we are getting Deek's! Well, that was the case tonight, well actually it was super early morning I guess(approximately 2:30). Knowing they close at three I quickly tried to download the app again as I've been trying to download it every time we've gotten pizza for the last two years and I'll tell whoever answers the phone that I'm having problems with it and they never have any helpful suggestions whatsoever, but I had to try it again and of course it didn't work so I called and I heard an annoyed, sounding voice answer "Deek's pizza". Knowing they would be closing at 3 I said I wanted to order a pizza for pickup. He repeated "pickup?" In the form of a question and I confirmed yes I was going to come pick it up. He asked me to hang on and was back on the phone within a few seconds and said i "OK but you'll have to pay the delivery fee". Caught off guard by what he said I asked "what"? He repeated himself and said that I would have to pay for the delivery fee. I told them to forget it and I just wait till tomorrow. I got off the phone and told my wife who was obviously disappointed, actually that's not the right word let's go with a cross between disgusted and outraged, as I said it's her favorite place to get pizza or eat out/order in in general really. Luckily I stopped her from calling and having a Chat with your employee about scamming customers. The hours are listed until 3 AM. I believe I called at 2:40, I know that's cutting it close but that's why I asked for pick up not delivery. I didn't want to be told it was too close to closing for a driver and they weren't doing deliveries nor did I want some young driver to have to stay late on a Friday night to deliver me a pizza I thought I was being nice by asking to pick up. I'm posting this complaint not just to complain or for other customers but also for so many businesses And for their employees because for some reason overtime things have changed and it feels like as a customer, we are expected to be grateful to get whatever we get whether it's good or bad, and accept the fact that our servers may have a bad attitude and make sure to tip at least 15% or run the risk of being blasted all over social media for being a lousy tipper. Wow how times have changed and I am sick of it! This was kind of the final straw! Like I said, I have never posted a negative review in my life nor have I been extorted to get a damned pizza! I didn't try and get a pizza after hours. I didn't ask to pick it up five minutes after closing I just asked for a pizza that I could come pick up which I would've paid for which helps keep the business open as that's what you do. Instead of getting a pizza, I got a lousy attitude and was treated like a junkie looking for a fix from a greedy dealer! I expect better from a local business who has been part of this community for years! I can't even count the amount of times I have recommended Deek's pizza nor can I remember how much money I have spent there over the years! If I'm being honest though, which I always am, it's the memories that bother me the most.Deek's pizza was there when I had my first beer. Deek's pizza was there at the last probably 20 Super Bowls. Dyk's pizza was there when my cousin had her baby. Deek's pizza was there for every hospital stay anyone in my family has ever had, every bachelor party I was ever at in Grand Forks, countless late nights after bar closing, after every date, good or bad. Deek's pizza was there after I lost my leg and the very first time I held my youngest boy etc... etc...etc...Do you see where I'm going with this? Have I made my point? Do I need to list more, cause I could go on for days! We love your restaurant, but your employee left such a sour taste in my mouth over eight dollars or whatever your current delivery fee is all of those memories are ruined because the only thing I remember about Deeks pizza is this incident and I don't know if I'll ever be in there again! Do yourself a favor and talk to your employees about how they should treat customers. Customers used to be treated with respect as they were the only reason a business could stay open. Due to my health issues and amputation we aren't able to do anything anymore really. It's been a very long time I've been able to take my wife out. We had a little money and thought about it and choose Deek's instead. Thanks for the memories
