I would not recommend. Never give bad review to anyone because I believe in God and I want every business in this country to succeed . However this one is exception and this company is a Total rip off. Consumers beware. I wasted hard earned money in this pandemic for such a "professional visit" that is zero value to me. After I paid the bill, Scott did not return to seal a vent, as promised in the work order. The HVAC unit was put in October. At the start of the cooling season I put on the AC and it did not work. I left several messages before I got a return call. After that, they were a no show and did not return calls. Do not use a company that does not warranty their work. read more

Buyer beware! Please note I am only reporting the facts here. You make of it what you will. A representative came out and gave us a good price and proposal so we purchased a business AC from the company. We gave them a deposit. They missed deadlines; they said they'd submitted permit paperwork to my town; the town said they didn't; they said they'd paid for the permit; the town said they didn't. Finally they installed the air conditioner, apologizing profusely, saying one of the workers was sick and they were backlogged. We gave them a check for the remaining amount, over $3,600. They took the check and ran it as an ACH transaction, which we did not authorize ... then they cashed the actual check ... so that nearly $8,000 went out of my bank account; they were paid twice. This was in the summer; it's now October and they have not resolved it yet. Both my office manager and I have been on the phone numerous times. I am not sure we've ever called and had someone actually answer the phone; I know they have never answered when I called. Sometimes they don't return the phone message. My office manager has spent a lot of time on the phone attempting to resolve this. I spent a very long time on the phone with an employee who seemed very helpful in wanting to resolve this; he pleaded with me to just give him two days; that was over a month ago. In spite of my repeated requests, he would not tell me who owns the company. I cannot find anywhere who owns the company. They claim an office in Mahwah but they would not give me an address. To date, I do not have my money. I have submitted a fraud claim to my bank; I guess a lawyer is my next move, though I hate to spend the time and money. I waited months to attempt to resolve this before putting anything on the Internet as I give people the benefit of the doubt. But I think it's important for all of us to share any experiences that could be attributed to a lack of integrity on the part of a company in order to protect others who may be considering a purchase. 2/29/16 From the Leadership of the Gates of Praise Church in Hillburn NY. About September 2011, through Angie's List we contacted J&S Home Comfort Solutions, telephone (845) 469-4455. In October 2011 we signed a contract with Scott Nelson, co owner of J&S. The cost of which was over $10,000. This was to install a new propane furnace at our church. That same month both him and his business partner Jason Peck begun the work. It went relatively well to completion. However, the problems begun with Scott and his company about the first week of February this year. The furnace for the second time this winter season stopped working. It's then we attempted to contact him to either come look at it or provide us with the furnace paperwork, and or warranty information so as to proceed through a local HVAC company. The disappointment was overwhelmingly alarming: We made more than 6 or seven calls, each time speaking to his wife who can only promise to take a message to have him call. Needless to say, we waited in vain, because Scott never called, nor did his wife initiated a follow up. All this time for more than two weeks our church was with out heat. Our propane provider who was hired to service the furnace diagnosed the problem indicating that replacement parts would be high. As Scott was the installer, we wanted him to take a look at it, and repair. If he hadn't the time, then give us the warranty information. Note we never prior to this, or to this date, got any paperwork from Scott on the furnace he installed or any warranty information. To make this narrative short. In our recent contact with Scott and his wife, we were treated rudely and lied to: He now claims that he was never an owner of J&S, but only an employee of a now defunct company, and as such has no responsibility. The facts are though: (1) 2005 Scott's grandfather give him a HVAC company. (2) In 2006 Scott partnered with Jason Peck and became J&S Home Comfort Solutions. (3) In 2012 J&S legally became "Happy Home Heating & Cooling." Yes, just a change in name, but still under the ownership of Scott Nelson and his wife, minus the previous partner Jason Peck. (4) Scott was never an employee of J&S as he is now claiming but was an owner. (5) there was no ownership argument and responsibility when he took our money. Now that the work is completed they have no need for us. Therefore, their post customer service stinks: (a) cant even innate a return call. Scott's refusal to provide us with any information on the furnace, now makes us wonder if the furnace in the first place was even new when installed. Their deception and blatant lies to a Church is beyond acceptable. His refusal to talk directly to us by phone makes it even more suspicious. We cannot refer him or his company to anyone.
