We were on the hunt for a quick and satisfying meal on a Thursday evening, and a family member who…read morelives in the area recommended this spot for island comfort food. The menu is simple and straightforward - you have a choice of mochiko (breaded) chicken, char siew chicken, shredded pork, or beef kalbi ribs - and we ended up ordering the mochiko chicken with a side of mac salad. While we took our food to-go, the ambiance of the Lumberyard (the food hall that houses Malo) seemed like a neat place to grab a drink and/or bite to eat with friends while watching the game. The mochiko chicken plate featured a crispy chicken cutlet served on a bed of rice, alongside a hefty scoop of mac salad (you can also choose crab potato salad as your side dish). Everything was drizzled with a sweet and slightly smoky aioli-type sauce. The meal was delicious and would pair excellently with a beer from one of the other eateries in the Lumberyard. In addition, the chef/owner was very friendly, and since we arrived early for our pick-up, we had the opportunity to watch him freshly prepare our food in the kiosk's tiny kitchen. Highly recommend checking this place out!

This is a kiosk in the Lumberyard, which includes a few other dining options, a full bar, seating both indoors and outdoors, games, and TVs. The Lumberyard is a great place to hang out, and Malō is a highlight here in terms of food. The Mochiko Chicken was recommended as the best thing to get, so I had to try it. Absolutely delicious! I also tasted the sauce from the Char Siew Chicken, and it was also delicious. Both of these were a little on the salty side, which I thought was great. However, if you're sensitive to salt that could be an issue. The Crab Potato Salad was very good. The Macaroni Salad was a little more basic, but also very good. The staff was super great, and the food was just out of this world. While I appreciate that there are several other food venues in the Lumberyard (all of which I have tried) I won't be able to resist opting for Malō whenever I stop by.

I think a lot of the negative reviews come from people who don't know what Mongolian grill is. All…read moreMongolian grill places use water to steam the food - even with the water spray bottles, you can still taste the sauces you add. You can add however much sauce you like - I found their recommendations for how many spoonfuls pretty accurate. I always like adding a lot of sauce to my noodles and I found their 6-8 spoonfuls (I added 8) for the medium bowl and found that a correct amount. The cooks saw that I had put some spicy sauce and fish on mine and a kid was right after me with a bowl of plain noodles so they went ahead and cooked the kid's first to make sure that my food didn't containment his. That was very nice, respectful and observant of them - despite it being a bit busy so massive props to that! If you have food allergies, Mongolian grill probably isn't fundamentally for you - but if there are certain flavors/spices you don't like, the cooks try their best to make sure it doesn't get in your food. The price is also excellent - it's excellent food for a great price so I would recommend this to everyone!

Oh, but THIS store! It's wonderful. It's all about the local food scene, and quality. The cupcakes in the bakery case are made there, and the pretty frosting designs were naturally colored. They bake their own breads. The deli line was led wonderful, there's a coffee stand, and the smoothies are made to order with real fruit, no mixes. The prepared foods case was also well stocked and generous with variety...I was able to find a delicious snack for the afternoon. The produce section is colorful and impressive...they even have Buddha's hand! This has an upscale Whole Foods vibe (pre Amazon ownership), and Moscow is lucky to have it. Adding a few words to hopefully trigger this in searches for vegan, organic, lunch and dinner, since it didn't come up in a search for those topics for me. I "discovered" the co op just driving by.
