From Seattle and only in Pullman briefly so I was curious and I had to stop by. To be honest, nothing to write home about. There are some items that can't be found in Safeway or Walmart, but they're overpriced and unless you're in an excruciating pinch, you can hold off and wait. I'M SO HAPPY THERE'S AN AUTHENTIC ASIAN MARKET HERE! I'm from Seattle and I thought the closest Asian market was in Spokane so finding this gem made me sooo happy! I was rationing the Asian food I brought from Seattle but now I don't have to because I can stock up here. It's small but it's packed with the necessities & then some. It's Korean owned and the employee was friendly and helpful. It's easy to miss but just pull into the Dairy Queen parking lot and it's to the right. Support local small businesses :)! read more

This small Asian market is located right across of Dairy Queen. I was greeted when I came in and the employees seemed friendly. It's kind of a bare bones place but I think it just opened recently, plus their decent selection makes up for it. Though the selection is mostly food/beverage products, there is a small section of home goods straight ahead as you enter the store (they have those Japanese Salux bath cloths that I love). There are mostly Korean (I believe the owners are Korean), Japanese, and Chinese food products but I also saw some Southeast Asian foods/brands as well. There is a good selection of frozen/refrigerated items (including their own kim chi!) and non-perishable items such as canned and boxed foods, sauces, snacks, different kinds of rice, etc. They also have a mini fridge in the back if you want to take a cold canned drink with you. I don't remember how the prices were but even if they were a little more pricey than usual, it's probably reasonable for an area like Pullman. There are some items you can find in the Asian food section at Safeway/Dissmore's/Winco but many of these items are hard to find in this area--and you can't beat the homemade kim chi! read more

All the ratings are on google which is great but I'd thought I'd leave one on here just to let people know! Don't pass this market up, I've traveled to many places, some with a very heavy influence of Asian culture and I have to say for as "middle of no where" that this area is and for the majority of people being "white" this Asian market is great! They have a lot of things I remember munching on through my years and home made kimchi what a gem truly! Much better than any of the other "Asian markets" that have tried to stay around here. Owners and family are very nice and so helpful so don't be afraid to ask! Will be going here and not making the trip to Spokane anymore! read more

I was so excited when I found out an Asian store would be opening up in Pullman. A few others have popped up over the years but they eventually went out of business, but Shin's has been around for a while now. The owners/employees are always friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The store itself has an awesome variety of food, snacks, drinks, and other household items. (It's mostly Korean food/drinks that are available.) It made me happy to see so many of my childhood snacks/foods in this super white town. Definitely recommend this store. read more

Really great Asian grocery store with an emphasis on Korean food. Lots of Korean ingredients that you won't find elsewhere in the Pullman-Moscow area. They also carry a selection of Korean housewares/cookware. They make their own kimchee, which I hear is very good. Unfortunately, it contains fish sauce so I can give no first hand review. Good selection of fresh veggies at pretty low prices. Also a very decent selection of frozen items, such as various dumplings. Area's best selection of ramen by far. I recommend the veggie Nongshim Soon and Paldo Teumsae. As an added bonus, the owners are very nice, always willing to answer any questions. read more

I was skeptical after visiting other small specialty foods stores that have since closed, but Shin's is different. The selection is good - they pack a lot into this store, and the prices are great too. Having visited Asia recently, I would say many of the items I was looking for were only marginally more expensive, which to me is a great deal! Had I known, I wouldn't have tried to cram so many snacks into my suitcase for my flight home! If you like matcha, the price for a tin is cheaper than you will find on Amazon, and they also have Green Tea ice cream! Lots of drinks, candy, spices, sauces, teas, frozen items.....you name it! Take it all in aisle by aisle because you will definitely miss something awesome if you don't take your time to look around. You can even get some fresh veggies that you just won't find at the box stores and if you have a question about how to make something, chances are they will try their best to give you some advice! I hope they are around for a long time - we are lucky to have this market in Pullman! read more
