The first thing that disappointed me was the no substitution policy. If your meal comes with white rice, you can't substitute fried rice or lo mein. Instead, you have to purchase a separate order, which makes the meal more expensive. I always appreciate restaurants that offer simple substitutions, so this was a downside for me. I ordered the duck, and my son ordered the General Tso's chicken. The food was cooked properly, but overall it lacked flavor. The General Tso's chicken came with very little broccoli, and while the sauce was okay, it wasn't as flavorful as I expected. The biggest disappointment was the duck. I've had duck many times before, but this one had a very strong gamey taste that made it difficult to enjoy. The seasoning just wasn't enough to balance the flavor. We also ordered their appetizer sampler, which included a egg roll, crab Rangoon, a beef stick, and a rib. I liked the idea of being able to sample a few different items. The meat was nice and tender, but even those items could have used more seasoning and flavor. On a positive note, the restaurant itself was clean and had a nice atmosphere. I believe they accept reservations, there's a convenient parking lot on the side of the building, and I also believe it's BYOB, which is a nice bonus. Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures because I had just gotten back from traveling, was exhausted, and just wanted to pickup food and head home. Overall, we were disappointed. Between the no substitution policy and the lack of flavor in several of the dishes, it's probably not a restaurant we'll be returning to. Everyone's taste is different, but this experience just wasn't for us.

In this case, it's nothing like what we experienced over the years again at the other location. The area was a little dicey and the restaurant looks honestly it looks tired inside. However, I will say that we were very surprised with quality of our food. We make a couple changes on some dishes, but in the end, we were very, very surprised. We started off with the steam juicy buns in our case soup dumplings , next we had to shui mai and the dish that we did make adjustments to was the tofu mushroom bok choy instead of tofu we asked them to put in beef, leaving everything else the way it is intended and a wound up being an outstanding dish. Hence we recommended the owners to consider adding a beef mushroom bok choy dish to the menu.

My order was extensive and a bit complicated (as usual), yet it was prepared flawlessly. The garnishes on the individual pieces meticulously applied. Fresh and inviting, arrayed with an artistic flair for color and balance. The "Mango Tango" roll, extraordinary. My seaweed salad, everything about it was perfection. The others in my group of four went the Cantonese route, tofu fried rice, a seafood noodle dish, which were judged superior. Throughout the evening, we all agreed it was a fantastic dinner we enjoyed. BYOB and relax. While not over-the-top in its décor, Queen Sushi's dining area is clean and orderly, serene even. Lit by large windows looking out upon the shaded, peaceful streets of Glenside. In fact, we found everything Queen Sushi has to offer so satisfying, it is a shame, really, to enter a complaint, but nonetheless. As I find more and more, no matter how lovely the establishment, the service is often wanting, and this impacted our experience. Had I not mentioned the appetizer I had ordered, it would have been overlooked, I am certain, because another appetizer we ordered was indeed completely forgotten. And I know that sushi preparation is a separate affair from the kitchen, which can lead to food arriving at different intervals - not unusual. But the considerable length of time the rest of my group was made to wait listening to me ooh and aah over my sushi was more than a little awkward. It so happens that I am a slow eater, so even though the hot entrees arrived late, we all finished neck-and-neck, but I should not have been given such a head start. Things happen, I understand. Unbelievable! Their foods are amazing. Unlike other restaurants, such as South Asian, Queen, or First Garden, Happy Garden's General Tso Chicken sauce is awesome. It is my favor.
