Happy to wholeheartedly recommend Maria and Michele of Four Happy Paws to anybody in the LA area,…read morefor daycare or longer-term overnight stay. We love that they provide a positive, home setting for our little dog, Remy. Our friend recommended Four Happy Paws to us, after she had been putting her doggo at their daycare on a regular basis. I followed them on IG (loved all their adorable content, and it seemed like the dogs were really having fun). After watching the stories / posts for a few weeks, we finally signed up Remy. We had a big trip, 8-day trip coming up, so we wanted to get Remy into daycare for a few months (1x a week), just to get familiar with Maria + Michele / the new environment, so that ultimately he'd feel better once we put him under their care during our 8 day trip. We were honestly so worried about where to put Remy-- he is shy with new people, not a great eater, and can be nervous about being alone. After telling all this to Maria, we were met with nothing but optimism, patience, and clear experience and knowledge of how to work with all different kinds of dogs. Our favorite things about Four Happy Paws: * Home setting: Maria and Michele's place is spacious, including a shady outdoor area with grass, and lots of indoor space for all the dogs. Most importantly, it IS a home, rather than an impersonal dog hotel. They even let Remy sleep in their bedroom when he was boarding. * Enrichment: They're constantly trying new things to keep dogs mentally and physically enriched. Playtime, fetch, healthy snacks. * Positive training philosophy: Maria and Michele take positive training seriously. If you follow them on IG, you can notice this. We know that positive training requires patience and individual understanding of each dog; it's really special to get that. * Instagram: They share the cutest reels of the doggos via IG stories. I really like this vs. a 24/7 camera-- allows me to get important snippets of the dogs having fun with one another! * Professional: Maria is a great, speedy communicator who always answers us via text in a matter of moments. She's also accommodated our wonky schedules several times now.

They provide a very safe, cage free, and relaxing environment for the dogs and mine can't wait to play and see the Four Happy Paws crew everytime he realizes that's where we're headed. I've been doing daycare and boarding with them for over a year and a half and I honestly don't trust anyone with my dog like I do them. So grateful to have come across them and HIGHLY recommend them to anyone needing care for their dog!

While Jetty was already a good puppy, he came back an even better one, and his progress on the leash has been a total game-changer for us. I'll admit I was pretty nervous at first because I'd heard horror stories about dogs coming back from board and trains acting "different" or losing their spark. Sara completely eased those fears. She managed to teach him discipline and commands while still letting him be his goofy, happy self. It's the perfect balance of structure and personality. Throughout the process, I felt totally connected to Jetty's progress thanks to the daily training videos and pictures Sara sent. You can truly tell he was in excellent care and that she treats the dogs like her own. Thank you so much, Sara, for all of your help and for making this such a positive experience for both me and Jetty!

This review is long overdue! We've been working with Sara since our dog, Luca, was an 8mo old puppy…read more(he is now 3) and still trust her for everything now from small questions to boarding whenever we need to be away. We've known her for 2 years now and have seen how much love she puts into caring and training him -- she's adapted how she works with Luca as he's grown and changed as well and we know he's in good hands when he's with her. Recently, we were having a hard time figuring out how to help him with his anxiety that felt like it escalated during his transition out of puppyhood so much that we started to avoid bringing him to many places--needless to say: we were getting anxious ourselves. After entrusting him with Sara again in the two week training program (in which she always shares daily updates), he came back to us with more confidence and a refreshed state for us to be able to continue all the things he learned with Sara back at home. Although the program did help him a lot, we know that ultimately it's our job to ensure his continued success, and Sara has been so patient and understanding when guiding us on how to work with him in the way that works best for him-- always creating space for us to share specific concerns so that she can give us tailored advice and instructions. I can probably go on and on endlessly, but I'll end it with the fact that we went from feeling stressed whenever we were out on walks to now constantly looking forward to the next walk with our boy and bringing him along whenever we can. Thank you Sara!!!!!

She's settled back into our household beautifully, and her training has been going incredibly well. We practice her commands every day, and she's noticeably calmer, more responsive, and an absolute joy to take on walks. Overall, the time she spent away was well worth it. She came home with a solid foundation, and we've gained the knowledge and tools to continue reinforcing her training. We'll definitely be sending her back for boarding and refresher training while we're abroad later this year because we couldn't trust Juan and his team more. Juan has also been excellent with communication, always taking the time to answer our questions and provide guidance. We highly recommend him and his team to anyone looking for quality dog training.

From day one, Juan provided exceptional customer service. He was never pushy, took the time to explain the training process, answered all of my questions thoroughly, and was always easy to reach whenever I needed him. I ultimately chose the 5-week off-leash obedience program. As difficult as it was to leave my puppy for that long, it was absolutely worth it. My dog came home calmer, more confident, and with a much better understanding of commands such as stay, down, place, come, yes, and no. She listens significantly better and is clearly more focused and well-mannered. Oh and let me not forgot to mention she is now crate trained and potty trained. She now sleeps comfortably in her crate and understands that potty time happens outside. The facility itself is beautiful, private, and extremely clean. I also want to give a special shoutout to Dom for the incredible care and dedication he showed my dog during her stay. If you're considering professional training for your dog, I highly recommend reaching out to Juan and his team. The investment was one of the best decisions I've made for my dog. and I'm so grateful for the foundation they've helped build for her future.

The first thing we did was enroll our puppy into daycamp 1 to 2 times per week. This seemed to make things worse and we needed to explore different options. We emailed Harvey and he told us to attend one of his classes. By this time we were at the point where it was stressful to take our puppy into knowingly crowded environments. Harvey and his wife immediately made us feel better from the very first class. The approach they take to training is focused on not only teaching the puppy to follow commands but to teach the owner how to deliver commands. We are only about half way in to our 10 week class and have seen big improvements!
