    Really nice grooming spot; super easy to schedule, the appointment took just over an hour, and they were very accommodating. Best of all, rescue pup looks great!!

    I took my 6 month old labradoodle for her first haircut-grooming experience the other day. Suzanne was great at explaining what she would do and wanting to make this a positive experience for my pup. Suzanne said if I ever wanted to let Lucy have longer fur, this would be the time since she still has her puppy fur. She explained labradoodles tend to get mats once their adult fur comes in. I opted for a modified haircut and love what Suzanne did! My pup looks and smells great, and even has a little pink bow on top of her head--tastefully cute! Apparently Lucy had a lot to say about the blow dryer and the whole experience, but Suzanne made my fur baby adorable! Thanks, Suzanne, we'll definitely be back!!

    Fluffy-butt scooting on carpet during holiday weekend, smelly pup in combination with clicking nails on the tiles of the kitchen floor calls for an immediate grooming session. I had been researching around the east bay (specifically near san leandro) for a pet groomer that's open on Monday! EVERYWHERE I have searched they were closed sundays and Mondays.....until I came upon Suzanne's Happy Dog Spa. I quickly gave her a call at 9AM this morning and she accommodated my little 13lb Tibetan spaniel mix 11mo pup. Yelp directions sent me to Puptown in San Leandro....called Suzanne and explained to her, she said its happened with other customers and she's still willing to see me even though we were going to be 15 mins late for our appointment at 10:45. Parking in the area is a little difficult, you'll find parking in the residential areas easier than on the main street of fruitvale. Dropped my little Charlie off at around 11 and picked him up around 1pm. I explained to her I wanted his face and tail to remain untouched because I want to grow out the fur but for the paws, belly and his bum to be trimmed, everything else a little shorter. She did exactly what I had wanted and was so sweet with Charlie, calming him between each treatment He got the bath and cut which included trim, shampoo, blow dry (she does have a k-9 high velocity dryer but Charlie was scared of it), nail trim, and anal sac expression (I already knew he was going to have plenty to expel, THANKS A TON FOR THIS SERVICE SUZANNE!) When I picked him up he was smelling so good and look sooo cute and went home with me rocking a darling little checkered bandana, complimentary of Suzanne. Suzanne is a really sweet pet loving lady and knows exactly what she's doing and dealing with! Her shop was so clean and tidy, plus the pets stay in little pens instead of crates. i'm so glad I went to Suzanne for Charlies first grooming.

    Best experience I have ever had with a dog groomer! Suzanne is very sweet and absolutely saved my foster dog! I took her in sign a matted coat full of dreadlocks and very dirty ears & behind (she had just come from an animal shelter) and Suzanne gave her the best makeover a dog could wish for! Will definitely be a repeat customer! Highly recommend

    As a first time dog owner, I wasn't sure what to expect with a groomer! I chose this place due to their reasonable pricing and 5 stars. They met all my expectations and my doggy was cuter and happier than ever! We are definitely going back!

    Picked my dog up from her groomer today so she's ready for the holidays. We have been to Suzanne several times and she's wonderful with my energetic 1 1/2 yr old Morkie. I like that she takes the time to listen to what you want done and does her best to accommodate you. She makes sure pets have their shots before they come which is a plus. Precious always looks good when I pick her up.

    I've been taking my goldendoodle, Maggie, to Happy Dog Spa for several months now, and am very happy with the result. They are very careful to follow my instructions, they like their doggie-clients, and she always looks wonderful when they're finished!

    I have a 5-year-old Chow and this is the best grooming she has ever had plus it was one of the cheapest and they came to my door

Sweet girl. One day I booked with Ashley and got to the shop and was told Ashley was sick so someone else did Munchies grooming. I took my dog home and was very disappointed. Just wasn't how my dog usually is groomed. I ended up calling and taking him back a few days later for Ashley to tidy up the cut. Fast forward to last month I made an appointment online on a Friday. When you book online it says REQUEST, WAITING for approval. I made the request on Friday for that Monday appointment. Well, I never heard back, never got a call, did not get a text , nothing. So Monday comes, I assume they couldn't honor my appointment. The shop calls me and tells me if I want to bring Munchie in, ever, I would need to pay for Mondays No show. I explained the situation how I did not get confirmation, no one called so I didn't think they could take him in. After going back and forth and this very rude female butting in to our conversation which they had me on speakerphone, I told the owner Nathan that I couldn't pay 120$ for the missed appointment plus another 140$ for a new appointment. I always tip 20$!!! Nathan tells me, well ok he will just charge me 60$ for Mondays appointment. I explain to him , what it says online when booking, it says request waiting on approval! It does not say confirmed! I have been a customer for years. I always tip. Nathan says no, Munchie cannot come back unless I pay the 60$. He said that I no showed a few times in the past. If that was the case, why was I never charged or this was never mentioned to me. And how can they just make up a No show price of $120? No one has ever said anything to me ever about a no show until this happened. I expected them to consider the thousands of dollars I have paid them over the years. And to consider that besides this incident that was not my fault, I have been a loyal customer! I take my dog to them once a month! Every month! But no, Nathan insisted either I pay for the missed appointment from that Monday or not to ever come back! I think that says a lot about them, and now that I have found MOBILE groomers who come to your home for same price and do a great job, I am happy this happened. Otherwise I would probably have stayed there giving them my money. All in all, Nathan does not value his customers, or this would have been handled differently. I am disappointed my dog means that little to them as a customer and my years of spending my money with them means nothing, but I am happy I moved on to this awesome mobile grooming! It is so nice, so convenient you know your dog is right outside in the van getting groomed. I don't have to wait around all day to see if A Cut Above Grooming is gonna have my dog 2 hours or 4 hours. The shop itself is not clean. There is usually dog poop on the ground outside, that stays there all day from when I drop my dog off, until I pick him up, the same poop is still there. Kinda lame considering there's 4 or 5 workers there sometimes.

I trusted that he would be safe with them. I took him to boarding school for two months to fix his past traumas and let him do a one month daycare here afterwards. He seemed a lot better with more socialization. Thank you to wag hotel Oakland for being patient and letting my dog thrive. I would recommend the 30 day daycare if pet parents are busy with their day or want socialization for their dogs

    Shame on you Wag Hotel!…read more I scheduled boarding for my dog Hans at your facility back on 1/28 in preparation for a trip to Japan on May 3 - 8, which you accepted on 1/31. However, when we arrived at your facility on May 2nd, the day before my flight to Japan, your front desk staff informed me that Hans' 5/2 - 5/8 boarding was being denied due to him having a heart murmur condition. Even though I've been a loyal customer to you for over 10 years; and that Hans' heart murmur condition had already been noted in your system since 2024; and given that my flight to Japan was less than 24 hours away; and given the fact that your facility waited until I was at the checkin desk in order to inform me of Hans' boarding denial; I was still told that there was nothing that your facility could do and that it was simply following company policy. Luckily for me, I demanded to speak with a manager who then took it upon himself to assist me in finding another facility that would board Hans at the very last minute. So kudos to that manager. However, you should know that he had to make several calls going down your "other recommended facilities" list in order to find a facility that was willing to board Hans on such short notice even with him having a preexisting heart murmur condition. So again, kudos to that manager. So unfortunately, this is how our relationship ends after I've been a loyal customer to you for over 10 years. Policy aside, not only should I have been notified far in advance to my May 2nd boarding schedule, but that I should have also been given an accommodation due to the last minute nature of your notification. It was simply amazing to me to hear both your Manager, and your front desk staff all admit that a notification error had, in fact, been made by your boarding authorization unit, but due to company policy there was nothing that could be done and that Hans would simply have to boarded elsewhere. Obviously, both my years of customer loyalty and the fact that your authorization unit had made a horrendous mistake, made absolutely no difference whatsoever in my situation. So goodbye, and again shame on you Wag Hotel!
