Hhhhhm not sure what to say. I love the two guys in Happy 50th. But because of my own pending doom of nearing 50, this is just a reminder that I am getting older and older. I too am having some experiences of being over the hill: bones ache, eyesight goes, my hip hurts sometimes, more frequent visits to the restroom, more new allergies and food intolerances, more heartburn, etc. Makes me question, is this how people go? Another reason why I hate birthdays, who wants to be reminded that I am getting old? It's hard to think of 50 as a cheery number when it reminds me of my mom also. She was 50 when she met her maker. If I am like my mom, I don't have much time left. God forbid I get the AARP card in the mail. I don't know if I can take seeing that dreaded envelope with the AARP invite in it.
For me I love the two guys who sing their heart out in Happy 50ish. But as a personal thing, I enjoy plays with a little more plot development. So for me this play is more of a 2.5 star thing for me. I chuckled but it's nothing new I haven't heard before. It's all the same things that people talk about concerning getting older. Definitely feels like an Off-Broadway type of show. If you are looking for something light, this would be okay for you. read more
