I am happy to have an efficient/fast Chinese delivery available in my neighborhood. The food is decent and the flavors are typical of the cuisine. I'm a little sad to have a negative experience. I ordered Shrimp Egg Foo Young & veggie egg rolls. Unfortunately I received crispy egg Foo young & BURNT egg rolls. Welll I simply called to inform the staff. Response: no one ELSE COMPLAINED tonight. Wait whaaa wait what just happened! It's a simple response to a customer that should've been given. "I'm sorry this happened." To make a statement that implies that I'm the problem as a customer is unacceptable. Next statement...is a "credit" for egg rolls enough? It's really simple yet it's simply pathetic to have such a silly response...I'll think of ordering from the Thai place next time. This is my go-to place for Chinese takeout. This restaurant is no-frills and far from healthy, but it is the Chinese takeout comfort food that I grew up with and it hits the spot every time. The food is consistent and tastes exactly how you'd expect greasy-spoon Chinese to taste. The food is always ready within 15 minutes of ordering. The cost is very reasonable. I can usually get four solid meals for less than $20 by ordering a large fried rice and a large meat option, usually their kung pao chicken (covered in perfectly savory sauce). I can't say that this is a place that I would want to dine-in, as the restaurant itself is very small and smells like generic cleaners (you know, that generic pink soap smell). I love Chinese food and I am looking for a good spot near Englewood. This place is ok. The shrimp fried rice and shrimp egg foo yung had very little shrimp and flavor. I had to add soy sauce for taste. The crab rangoon were horrible. It was just fried dough with cream cheese inside. If I try them again I will ask for extra shrimp. Great food, attentive service always. I'm a creature of habit and always order the special wonton soup (under the wontons sections not the soup which is worth clarifying). They also have this twice cooked pork that has the best sauce I may have ever tasted. No frills establishment but good amount of space, pretty large portions for the price. read more

Worst customer service ever. Every time you call in they put you on hold for at least 4- 5 mins, never fails it's every time. 4 out 10 times they get your order wrong and don't offer to correct it. They just say nothing they could at least say will cook the right order but they don't. Stay away doesn't know how to serve customers. read more

I have been going to Happiness for years. I have delivered from them and even went and eaten inside their restaurant. It is nothing fancy but the food is delicious. Our favorite is the orange chicken and my wife loves the shrimp kow. I love their crab rangoons, beef and brocolli..... just about everything I have tried form them is great. They have smoothies too. For the people on here with bad reviews, they must seriously be uptight. This is not ruth chris's where I would expect a smile and 5 star service. It is a hole in the wall dive chinese spot. Went to happiness a few times but most of the time I carry out. The other day I went with a friend for lunch and we had the most worst service ever! The fat waitress was so rude, when she came to take our order she had no smile and it felt like she was mad at us. She was talking so loud on her phone and that was really aggravating. She really have no manner. It was my friend's first time there, she was really disappointed, I even felt bad because I recommend her there. On Oct 3 2021, @ 3:30pm I had place an order for pick up (Beef & Broccoli) and when I got home I began to eat and I felt sharp pain and It was a piece of steel wool. I called immediately and I was told I can get credit on my next order. Fran the call taker did not know what steel wool must be, so I drove back with food and showed her and patrons in the restaurant the cut in my mouth and the 2 inch piece of steel wool (it was from one of those curly steel brillo wool balls). The patrons were surprised at what they saw. Fran, the call taker, went in the back and gave me another order. I DID NOT EAT any food that was prepared on that day for me. I am very disappointed as to what happen they are always a go to restaurant, with good food. I did seek medical treatment for the cut in my mouth for any concerns of infection. I may not be returning because now I am uncertain as to how the food is prepared and they were not being concerned of the serious of this incident. this could have gone extremely wrong for me, and they had no concern for severity of the situation. read more

I have been a patron of this restaurant for many years. I understand that Covid has made a difference in the level of service in many restaurants but I have picked up orders since they reopened and I've seen the same staff as before at least in the front of the house. The quality of the food has gone down considerably especially given the increase in prices which once again could be attributed to Covid. I decided to give them another chance tonight and placed an order to be delivered. I ordered 2 shrimp dishes and upon opening one could not even see any shrimp! After searching for them I was able to count 6! The other had 7! I also ordered almond cookies which were stale and overpriced. The order ended up taking 20 minutes and it wasn't the right order. It looked nothing like how it had before neither did it match the description and picture. It had chicken, broccoli, carrots and onions. I can't do onions. I asked is this your chicken teriyaki? Then they looked at each other and said " yes chicken teriyaki, broccoli, carrots and onions." Ugh! I ate at Happiness with my family on September 17th 2011 let me tell you that I will never eat here again! My husband and I got very sick from the food we ate...my son, lucky for him, only had the chicken and rice soup, which by the way was not bad at all and I should have chosen that instead of the food I ordered. The portions are HUGE way too much food. Hubby and I could have shared one dish. The food was o.k., not great but o.k. The staff is not very friendly, no smiles, no personality whatsoever. So disappointed!We were celebrating birthdays and decided to order from this place because they deliver. We did not receive everything we had ordered, the beef fried rice was burned, egg fo young was greasy. We understand mistakes happen because it was a large order but when we spoke to the person with whom we placed the order she was rude and actually hung the phone up twice. She said we would have to come there to fix the problem, the driver was not coming back. We paid for delivery and a tip. Tried to explain we were at work and only had 1hour. I'm surprised at the negative reviews. Although we are not far from Chinatown, we prefer this place over most places in Chinatown. Their combination "George" fried rice is a favorite, as is the Mongolian Beef. The portios are huge...the lids on the containers are never closed becuase of how full they fill them. The restaurant isn't much of a looker and the service is not the greatest but it's not the worst either. The food is your usual Chinese restaurant fare. This is has become my favorite place for Chinese food! I actually drive past the more touristy "Chinatown" to eat here. The servings are plentiful, service is fast, and the staff friendly. Their lunch specials give a good bang for your buck. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because of the facility itself. It needs a bit more updating and atmosphere (IMHO).
