Arsenio was our staff belay person and he was great at encouraging my son and I (especially) to keep going to the top and we did on a couple walls! Staff here is nice and welcoming but we were a little confused on where to leave our things but luckily I spotted lockers in the bathrooms, no lock needed - there's instructions on how to set it up nearby! We had so much fun challenging ourselves to something new like this and will be back again, soon. Parking in Hoboken is always tricky but not too bad on a Thursday night when we came just arrive early to look for a spot. And book online!

I can't believe there aren't more reviews for the AMC, and I don't mean the movie theater. This is the BEST organization if you love the outdoors and live in the northeast! I belong to the NY-NJ chapter (https://amc-ny.org) but AMC has 11 local chapters also in CT, DE, MA, ME, NH, RI, and the Potomac region (DC, MA, VA). AMC is the oldest outdoor club in the United States, and works to support and promote outdoor recreation & education, and environmental stewardship. The organization is filled with wonderful and dedicated people. Its trained leaders and volunteers organize SO many hiking, camping, backpacking, paddling, biking, rock climbing, skiing, snowshoeing, sailing. etc. trips; as well as offer instructional & skills courses, wilderness first aid certification, and fun outdoor events accessible to everyone and at all levels of aptitude - and mostly for free or at low cost! They also offer incredible guided adventure travel and trekking all around the world to places like Patagonia, the Himalayas, Scotland, Switzerland, Canada, US national parks, Italy, Greece, southeast Asia, the Balkans, Africa, New Zealand, Fiji, etc. etc. You don't have to be a member to join most of the activities, events and trainings, but membership gets you a significant discount to paid events and trips, as well as 20% off lodging at their huts, cabins, and campsites, and on AMC books/maps & merch. We have a family membership and it's totally worth it. I've stayed in several of their lodgings but am particularly fond of the Harriman Outdoors Center here in Rockland County, NY - you can rough it or glamp, as it has excellent facilities, and FABULOUS food at their dining hall if you don't wish to give up your creature comforts while taking in some nature. Events can be searched on their website: https://www.outdoors.org/adventures/ (There's also a way to set up an activities digest email to get notified of new postings, but I leave that for the devoted to find. ;)) The NY-NJ leaders also post many of their hikes and other events on Meetup.com so you can look there for activities to join as well. Notably Jason Morris hot yoga classes are energizing and therapeutic, he is such a Guru Ive learned so much about anatomy and making a mind body connection that it spills over into weight training. Luliias voice is so soothing and her classes are so fun, the Friday class specially feels like everyone is connected Gigis class is super cool on Sundays it should be renamed Juicy Yoga with Gigi lol, shes so funny and connects with everyone, the class feels like cuddles after sex. Spin with Juggy and Melora is elite. Ive gotten so much faster in my road bike after just a few classes. Functional training with Nyerre Mays is un-unreal. He is such a cool dude and such a Pro. The pool is epic, the Jacuzzi forget about it. The entire staff is super friendly and makes everyone feel super welcomed. I truly feel at home whenever I make it to the gym. The MVPs of the gym are the cleaning staff though, everything is so spotless all the time. In a city so chaotic is nice to have this peaceful oasis.

All of these classes have been great and I highly recommend trying them. First of all, I'm new in town and don't know anyone so I took my very first pole class by myself. I was nervous, but the instructor, Autumn and other students were very welcoming and made me feel right at home. Secondly, I don't have any gymnastics or dance background, but Autumn structures the class to accommodate each student's ability. So if you're feeling like you're not capable of learning pole dance I assure you that you are and there's a class at this studio that is suitable for your needs. Also, with the price and parking it's incredibly accessible. The price is really reasonable. The intro package was the best deal around. At the time, (not sure if it's still going on) it was just $30 for three classes. The parking situation is THE BEST! They have two lots right in front with open free parking. I couldn't write this review without mentioning the beauty of this studio. It's on the 4th floor of the historic Yardly building in Union City. It has a spacious loft feel with high ceilings, lots of windows and city skyline views of the Freedom Tower. It's the perfect space to inspire movement and feel empowered. Lastly, it's important to mention COVID precautions. Masks are recommended and most people wear them. The poles are set 6 feet apart and are wiped down with alcohol frequently throughout class. I always feel really safe there and appreciate the precautions taken. I feel like I'm just starting a long journey with pole dancing and I'm really happy to begin here with Lovely Lioness. I sincerely recommend giving this studio a try because I think you might fall in love with pole dancing and their community the same way that I have.
