My appointment was for 2pm they told me nothing to eat or drink 6 hours prior. So I had been…read morefasting since 7am. When I arrived at 2pm they were very busy, at 2:30 I was brought back and had an X-ray taken, brought to the room where the dental assistant diagnosed my broken tooth needed to be extracted. She also stated that I would need to highly consider an implant either now or in the future but regardless I would be a bone graft to preserve the socket. I explained I was only interested in the extraction she was extremely pushy. The doctor arrived after another 15 minutes had passed and explained the same thing that the dental assistant said. I again said in only wanted the extraction he was more polite then the staff. I was whisked up front to the billing team and explained my cost after insurance, I then paid and was told to have a seat in the waiting room. At this point it was 3:05pm, about 3:45 I was brought back again and placed in a surgical room and connected to leads for the machine and a blood pressure cuff. The assistant tried to use the manual cuff 6 times on my upper right arm, 4 times on my lower right arm, and the same for my left. It was clear that the machine was not working properly, she changed cuffs back and forth several times as well and said she may have to do it manually. Clearly at that point she should have done it manually but she didn't instead she walked out of the room and said she would try again before the procedure. Around 4:45 an hour later the doctor emerged and quickly started trying to place an IV it took him several times to find a spot and after being stuck twice he got the IV to work. I was uneasy at this point but he quickly administered the propofol and I do not remember anything until they woke me up and whisked me out the back where my husband was waiting. It was 5:15 just 30 minutes from start to finish and out the back door with instructions and meds. They said go home have some broth and clear liquids and immediately take your pain meds before the numbness wears off. So I did just that headed home had chicken broth a little bit of Gatorade and some water followed by (1) Tylenol with codeine. 45 minutes later I was jolted by severe pain in my upper abdomen that wrapped around to my back I could hardly breathe the pain was so bad. After 20 minutes of wallowing in pain my husband refused to watch any longer and took me to the ER, they quickly brought me to the back and started an IV with fluids, ZoFran, and morphine. They did a cat scan and X-ray as well as labs which all came back normal. After getting me settle down and out of pain two hours later the doctor chalked it up to the IV sedation and the Tylenol with codeine on an empty stomach. I felt relieved and out of pain but still very nauseous by the time I got home I started to throw up which made my mouth hurt even more at this point. I suffered all night with little sleep and called the Dr. Hashemian 's first thing this morning Wendy answered and I explained my situation. I first asked for something else for pain which she stated I can just alternate Motrin and Tylenol, then I asked for a PO check tomorrow because of the vomiting I wanted to make sure I did not dislodge the blood clot or cause a dry socket. Wendy's response was if you are not bleeding you did not dislodge the blood clot. Try the Tylenol and Motrin, have a good day and hung up the phone. I will never recommend anyone to this office, and I suggest you do your homework before going there as well you will just be another number in their factory. Keep in mind I'm young and healthy overall and do not have any underlying medical conditions. I've been in the dental industry for the last 15 years managing multiple practices and I have never seen anything like this.

People think the worst and since I was…read morea patient of Dr. Johnson this year, I want everyone to know that going to a periodontist is not all that bad!. I had sedation gum surgery and felt NO pain. There were several follow up appointments and I have to say that from the first visit to the last, I felt like I was well taken care of. The staff is wonderful. The Periodontist was fantastic. I just can't believe that I had dental gum surgery and it never hurt. So, don't delay, call Dr Johnson and meet him and his staff. They will take good care of you!

The people at the front office were very professional, friendly and communicative. I had a vertical fracture that was quite painful. The first dentist I saw nearly sent me through the roof during the initial exam and made me terrified to consider treatment there. I then went to Dr. Darby and that pain free experience was like night and day. I also liked that Dr Darby was very thorough and spent time explaining the issues, discussing my options and making sure I felt completely comfortable. My husband and I spend most of the year in California but if I need any other dental procedure like the one I had, I'll be back in Ocala to see Dr. Darby.

Nice sized waiting room that's clean and comfortable facing the front office staff! It even is kid friendly with a little kid's area that had a kiddie sized table with several little chairs that looked like teeth! The staff is exceptionally patient oriented and very knowledgeable about procedures and co payments. Exam rooms are decent sized and equipment looks up to date and well maintained. The Dentist had a great bedside manner and explained everything that was wrong with my molar - why I was in pain and that before it was extracted I had to be placed on antibiotics because I still had a residual infection and once that was cleared I would be referred to a oral surgeon. I was very pleased with this experience and will use this practice as my Dentist from now on. A much better experience than my last dentist!

I was spending more money on things we weren't sure even needed to actually be done. I got fillings that botched my mouth and caused me pain and extra sensitivity in which I am just now getting fixed.
